The Simpsons (1989)
Why tarnish a classic?t
The Simpsons,a show that will always be remembered as a classic for its wit and biting satire was just that, one of the best creations of human beings.I remembered that every sunday my whole family would sit in front of the tv and laugh at the antics of our favorite family, they were funny and at times touching, leaving some at the brink of tears always wanting more, all of the plots were always original and covered new ground and closed a storyline for example this classic episode.
Mother Simpson:Glenn Close gives a wonderful performance as Homer´s long lost mother who left Abe and Homer to protect them after she was seen by Mr Burns blowing up his lab,the reaction of the simpsons family was convincing and their acceptance was too,the ending was quite emotional and nice closing to the show.
Homer 3d:Not an episode but a story in treehouse of horror with Homer trapped in the 3d world it was what every fan wanted to see and I was really satisfied by it and an appearance by Bart.
After that new episodes started coming they were still funny but then the new writers came in,Ivy League graduate losers with absolutely no sense of humour, all of the storylines were weak rehases and new characters(the blonde executive)are really annoying, the jokes(boo-yah!)are used in every chance and they are bad ones by the way.The Simpsons are terribly out of character and the original storylines are outlandish(Simpsons go to africa),what Matt Groening said the simpsons wouldn´t be,and in the way messing with previous better storylines(The Simpsons return to the farmhouse, according to Days of the jacknapes Krusty´s carrer would´ve started in 89)and the jokes are telegraphed from a mile(the la di da cop in Pokey Mom)I would´ve cried 4 years ago if The Simpsons were cancelled, now I would be happy.
I hope that the old writers returned for The Simpsons movie or the new writers came up with something as good and funny as the behind the laughter episode.
Highlander: Endgame (2000)
It´s by no means a classic but it´ll do
First off,let me tell you the producer´s cut is far more superior than the theatrical release, this cut is the one we have been waiting for,Christopher Lambert´s acting is normal, nowhere near as Gideon, but watching him play Connor Macleod for the last time is great,I hope that his upcoming drama "Joshua" will be as good as Gideon. Now for the review:
For the past 400 years or so, immortal Scotsman Connor Macleod (Christopher Lambert) has been forced to do combat with his kin in a never ending game where the loser gives up his head and Quickening or their life force and memories - to the victor making them stronger. But now at the turn of the new millennium, Connor is beginning to have second thoughts.
So after visiting his former apprentice Duncan (Adrian Paul), Connor vanishes without a trace having turned himself over to a group of monk-like chroniclers called Watchers who proceed to lock him away in a secret sanctuary where immortals go when they want to be taken out of the game.
10 years pass and through a series of flashbacks which are a staple of the television series structure in which this movie closely follows we learn of Connor´s past with Jacob Kell (Bruce Payne), a former kinsmen who blames him for the death of the man who raised him and at who´s hand his immortal rebirth took place. Fueled by his hatred of Connor, Kell has slowly become the fiercest immortal of them all and now as set his sights on both Macleods in an attempt at final justice once and for all.
I must admit that I´ve never given Paul much credit and the idea that the producers behind the franchise wanted to hand over the feature film reins to him angered me greatly. As I stated before, Christopher Lambert was and will forever be the highlander I identify with cause he started it all. But after viewing Endgame I must give credit where its due and take back everything I´ve ever said about Paul. Not only is he a much better swordsman then Lambert, but he´s more deft at handling the emotional core the series has always tried to convey.
And while I don´t want to give much away, I will say that the passing of the torch between stars is handled much better here then in say Star Trek: Generations, a film which managed to drop the ball for fans of both incarnations. Endgame proves to be both true to the spirit of the first film (at least) and the television series, whose fans will be pleased to see that series co-stars Jim Byrnes and Peter Wingfield have supporting roles in the film as well.
As for you action fans who come to the series only wanting to see fights and decapitations, you´ll also be pleased to learn that Endgame features the best fight sequences of the series thanks in no part to HK legend Donnie Yen, who also plays one of Kell´s evil henchmen in the film.
With better production values and for once a solid story to tell, it seems as if a Highlander film finally got it right for a change. It´s by no means a classic, but it´ll do.

Halloween H20: 20 Years Later (1998)
Why don´t they get Freddie Prinze Jr to be the shape in the next one?
This movie is what would happen if Michael Myers would walk on the set of Dawson's Creek. It looks and feels like that darn TV show. To calm down some of my readers I will say I have nothing against Dawson's Creek but it has jack all to do with horror flicks. This movie has two things going for it. 1: The relationship between Laurie and John. 2: 15 minutes of suspense at the end. What could have been a good movie is ruined by (I suspect) "one trick pony" Kevin Williamson who did a polish on the script. This is not supposed to be a "Scream" movie, it's a Halloween movie you dummy. I don't want winks about other horror flicks (mainly Psycho) I want suspense, mystery.horror goddamn it! We have one teen from Dawson's Creek (Williams), another from Can't Hardly Wait (Hann-Byrd), LL Cool J (he's funny but what the f.k is he doing in a Halloween flick) and the absence of Donald Pleasence (not their fault, he's dead). All those players contribute to making this movie everything but a true "Halloween" movie. Is this the future of horror.making references to better movies, having little in jokes, getting the teen of the month to star in it? I hope this crap dies down and Williamson goes back to selling hot-dogs. The original Scream was good, the references original but now it's played out. This is not a true Halloween film. Kiss my knife.
The directing is awful,he knows a thing or 2 about horror movies(friday the 13th 2 3,warlock)too bad he remembered them in the last 15 minutes
Gore is weak.but Michael really gives it to Jody Lyn O' Keefe, ouch.I guess Mike also saw "She's All That".
I know I'm hard on this one but I love "The Shape" and I hate to see him become an "Egg Mc Muffin" or a "Clearasil" tube. The movie does have good production values and some tension in the end but it has nothing to do with the spirit of "Halloween". They took the Michael Myers character and packaged him in a commercial teen flick. Hardly anybody dies in this one, it's full of fake scares, scenes that lead nowhere and it reeks of Williamson. If I want to see the car Janet Leigh drove in "Psycho", I'll rent Psycho.
If you want to have a nice time rent 1,2,4,and try to find a bootlegged producer´s cut of 6
The Exorcist III (1990)
One of the must underrated horror films ever.
First off, this movie is really creepy,it´s not one of those scares that jump out of the darkness, this movie is subtle,it will creep you out if you´re alone, just after you see the statue of god open its eyes or the crucifix shedding a tear,or an statue mockingly smiling, that´s the kind of scares, that´s why I love it.
Even if George C Scott was nominated for the razzie that year he gives quite an enjoyable performance,Brad Dourif and the man that played Father Karras are also quite enjoyable, the actor that played Father Morning is good too, watching him enter the psychiatric ward for the exorcism was a thrill!
The directing of the writer of the books and screenplays for the original and third gives a fine directing that is subtle and gives this movie the feeling that something is going to happen and you are feeling the fear gather in you,waiting,waiting.......
Even though the studios did came up with an ending that had an actual exorcism in it,it looks quite forced but it still is enjoyable, hope the Exorcist 4:Dominion is on par with the original as this one.
El Chavo del Ocho (1972)
The number 1 show in mexican tv!
First off this is a show from the 70´s that never gets tired, let me tell you the magical story.
The Chavo del Ocho is an orphan who lives in an apartment that is never seen from the inside, just the door was seen when repairs were being done to the neighborhood.Well, the neighborhood seems to be just populated by Doña Florinda,a widower mother of Quico,a boy with cheeks that seem to be balloons,in love with the teacher,El Profesor Jirafales.Aparment 61 is inhabited by Doña Clotilde, which the kids call a witch,in love with Don Ramon,a man with no job,but is good at evading Señor Barriga, the owner of the neighborhood, who always threathens to throw Don Ramon and Chilindina,a preety witty girl, daughter of Don Ramon, out of the neighborhood, but as he has a good friendship and a good heart always comes with a good excuse to make him stay(He claimed he betted against Don Ramon in a boxing match to get the money he owed, but the truth is he hates it)he is the father of ñoño,played by the same actor, who cries like a pig.To bad the actor who played Don Ramon died,Quico also left the show, they were replaced by wonderful actors, but without the characteristic accusing of Don Ramon by Doña Florinda, and Don Jaimito, who Don Ramon was replaced with was quite a good character, but tiring.
Nirvana (1997)
One of the most original movies I´ve ever seen
Chris Lambert plays Jimi Dini in one of his rare top notch actings,a video game programmer who discovers that a renegade virus has infiltrated his computer and infected his newest creation, the cost, the main character realizes he is condemned of doing the same repetitive things,so he asks Jimi to erase him,so he needs to hack into the companies mainframe, well that´s the premise that makes the Matrix look like one of the most unoriginal movies of all time.
