It's A Fun Game Show To Watch
26 February 2016
Warning: Spoilers
I was in junior high school when this game show aired, but I do no remember seeing if at the time.

I find this game show fun to watch. I love it that the audience in section that the celebrity represents wins the money at the conclusion of the game.

It is a sweet, fun, and honest show to watch. Not crass like many shows that are on the air today.

For me, it is very nostalgic to see the celebrities of the past that you may have forgotten about or celebrities in their early rise to fame.

Barney Miller (1975–1982)

Welcome To The 12th Precinct!
11 December 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Barney Miller has been unfairly undervalued.

The Comedy series is unique, gritty, and has a wonderful dry humor. This is one of the best sitcoms there is! I totally enjoy the quirky characters that enter the scene of the 12th Precinct.

The cast is fabulous:

Barney Miller - intelligent, thoughtful and incredulous toward the weird happenings that occur in the squad room.

Harris - conceited, proud, and almost insubordinate at times when certain aspects of being a detective clashes with his world view.

Yemana - A quiet but humorous detective with a gambling addiction and a person who can make you a wicked cup of coffee.

Wojo - A somewhat dimwitted detective with a heart of cold if you look inside of him deep enough.

Dietrich - Let's call him an intellectual smarty pants.

Levitt - Mr. Kiss Butt.

This group of detectives create a perfect elixir for a perfect TV series.

One of the Best Movies In a Lifetime
1 September 2015
Warning: Spoilers
I never sang for my father is a great character driven story that will always resonate with me because it mirrors the dynamics of my family. Whenever I watch this movie, it is an out of body experience. I am floating above the characters watching myself, my parent, and my sibling react to the narcissistic sociopath who is disguised as a dad.

This is an outstanding movie that one will never forget especially for people who can relate to an overbearing parent who mentally manipulates and abuses their offspring.

For those who've have had healthy parent child relationships, you will be able to peer into lives that are unlike your own and it will hopefully give you a better understanding about the human condition.

I cannot say enough about this powerful movie. It is one of the best in a lifetime.

Will Prove To Be a Historical Classic!
13 August 2015
I am not drawn to watching Ben Hur type of movies, especially if it includes a lot of battle scenes that include a lot of blood and gore, but Gladiator is simply great theater, and when a plot is done right and is compelling, the violence and blood letting is justified!

Believe me, I am a romantic comedy sort of a gal, but this movie has a well told story with great characters, has a terrific soundtrack, and is visually exciting, which creates an elixir of movie magic.

The movie Gladiator and Russell Crowe deserved the Academy Awards for best picture and best actor, and the remaining cast was believable and propelled the story, but the talented Joaquin Phoenix's portrayal of Commodus deserved, at the very least, an Academy Award nomination.

I believe time will prove that Gladiator is one of the all time classics! movies of its genre.

Riveting & Profound Biopic!
30 January 2014
Warning: Spoilers
I read the book first, which was intriguing and enlightening on the life of Tina Turner, and one would think that if would be difficult to translate her life's journey into a great movie .

Not so! the movie is one of the best biopics related to a famous singer's journey that i have ever seen so far.

I was drawn into the story from the beginning of the movie, which begins when Tina was a child singing in the choir, and even at that time, Tina's voice was so magnificent that she was ostracized by the choir director.

I was riveted throughout the movie and the story conjured up so many emotions. The music of course, took me back in time when I grew up in the 60's and 70's, which is fantastically revitalized and full of energy.

The years of battery that Tina endured from Ike is wrenching and disturbing, but the triumph and endurance of the person called Tina Turner is enlightening.

Wish There Were More Seasons!
22 December 2013
Fish was not perfect, but two of the characters: Fish, who had comical mannerisms and hilarious facial expressions that made me laugh out loud, and his lovely and sweet mannered wife made the show watchable.

The kids were kind of annoying, and it was so hard to actually like them. They could have been written better as characters on the show. The show needed more time to develop. It was certainly better than "Different Strokes", which for me is unwatchable. I have the one season of Fish on DVD and love watching the show, which is amazing in itself. I am quite sure the series would have been a classic it it had a few series under it's belt. It deserved more than just one year. I am not quite sure why it was cancelled in the first year. It just needed a chance to grow.

As Time Goes By (1992–2005)

One Of The Best Britcoms Ever!
7 October 2013
I'm from America and I absolutely LOVE As Time Goes By. I discovered the show on PBS, and was not at all interested at first, but I was drawn in by the endearing characters of the show. At first I had a hard time understanding the dialog because of the English accent, but after watching the show for years, I now understand every word that is spoken. I get a kick out of the different British idiom like "bell me", which in America we would say: Call me. Alistair Deacon is a riot! Always a fun character. At I love the straight laced Lionel, always trying to make sense of how women react and think. Jean is so spontaneous and and sweet. They play off of each other perfectly. I now have all of the episodes on DVD and I never tire of watching it, which I am quite sure that the show will always be a classic! I find that the series transcends all generations. I am 54 and my son is 32 and we both love the show.

An entertaining romantic comedy
20 July 2006
This is one of my favorite romantic comedies about a widow who has to come to terms with her future husband as well as her previously deceased husband who has contacted her beyond the grave.

I did not originally see this movie in the theaters, but caught it on TV a few years back. I now have it on DVD. Sally Field's character, Jay Villano, is humorous and sensitive in the role as a young widow, and Jeff Bridges is absolutely gorgeous even though he is portraying a nerd. James Caan is an excellent as the character, Jolly Villano, Sally Field's whimsical and carefree dead husband. Claire Trevor, Kay Villano's mother, is excellent as a strong willed upper-class socialite. I have watched this movie several times and it never gets old. It is definitely a treat, so I guess it should be considered a classic. I don't know why this was not a big hit at the box office, but it has smart language, and has a terrific cast.
