Extremely disappointing experience, and that from the director who made marvels like Whiplash and LaLa Land!? Poor photography which could and should have been so much better, poor use of decor, poor cuts, and a very poor storyline, I really don't understand what has been attempted to achieve here. It seems as if no real effort has been made to make something good. The overriding feeling eventually is a lack of selection, a lack of editing, an inability to not be tempted to include almost everything that possibly can be included especially in the finale with all these pointless references to some if the modern greats. For me this has turned out to basically be an insult to moviemaking. Why do this?!?
