The Politician (2019)
Need a Season 3+
I really enjoyed this show. The lead is such an awesome actor. Gwyneth Paltrow plays a unique and unexpected mother.
Every once in a while I think about this TV series. It had a lot of promise and I really hope that there will be another season at least.
I don't rewatch tv shows or movies. The rare exception has been the West Wing, Harry Potter, some Lord of the Rings. But I will be rewatching this show.
I need a refresher of the different characters and the political comedy during current political times. The lead actor left quite a good impression.
The West Wing was superb and we need new political shows of that caliber.
Making a Murderer: Indefensible (2015)
heartbreaking, I can't get through the episode
I will just rate this episode 10/10 for the raw and revealing unfolding if this entire fiasco.
It is clear that Brendan Dassey is innocent. It's unbelievable how he was pressured continually to create lies that support the police narrative, and then in order to get the tiniest bit of liberty for himself. I find it all so disgusting. I am infuriated.
I have come to the conclusion that law enforcement have no clue what they are doing, lack an incredible amount of maturity, and do not have insight into people at all.
I don't believe that the right people are in law enforcement. Police need a completely different level of education, mindset, and mind.
Most of what I have learned about true crime is that it is the most depraved of people who commit horrible crimes. They had horrible treatment as a child and were completely devoid of love and only knew abuse of all kinds. They end up increasing their crime skillset and have no empathy for others.
This is a social problem. Not an enforcement problem.
Negligence and abuse of a child is a huge crime.
In this series, we see impoverished people who are seen as less educated, not smart, the bad people, the ones who do the crime. Labels do create people. Did anyone ever think to help any of these family members?
People perform as expected. Studies have shown that if you tell someone they are smart, they do better on exams, they perform well. Tell them the opposite, and they don't have the motivation to do well, they perform poorly, they believe and buy into what they are told.
I really feel for Brendan. He was collateral damage in all of this. He did not deserve any of this.
I hope people are advocating for him and supporting him while he is in prison.
Law enforcement need to be held accountable for all the corruption, the dismissal of family claims, and for creating misery for other people. They are so incompetent. Not all, but many.
Help! I Wrecked My House (2020)
Love the host of the show
I find Jasmine to be very likeable and kind and do not find her condescending in any way, like others mentioned. Are we watching the same show? I think what may be happening is that the script of the show is just pointing out why these people need help (because some episodes have people who really need help well others not so much in terms of wrecking their house). It's the first season so I am sure they will find more clients who really did wreck their home and will also improve the show as it goes. Sometimes it's an editing issue that can shape what we see and with repetitions that can seem to make the dialogue overdone. Also, I have watched clips only and not full episodes but my impression is that Jasmine is kind, real, and does give her clients what they want and ask for. I am enjoying the show and looking forward to new episodes.
Life After Death with Tyler Henry (2022)
Very touching
Not sure why the ratings are so low. I can only imagine that it is for religious reasons.
I am a believer. How can one not be? Especially after watching these episodes.
Tyler is very sweet and is helping people to find healing and to move forward with peace after grief. What an incredible gift to give others. Especially since he sacrifices his health to do this. It takes a lot of energy to channel. To take on the feelings of others especially if they have had tragic deaths.
Tyler, watch your health! Take to heart what the medium said.
Lost in Space (2018)
I liked it
Just finished the last episode. I can't give this series a low rating. There was just too much that was good about it. I did find the suspense to trigger a lot of stress at times. That was the only part that I didn't enjoy. Otherwise, I thought that it was creative, fun, emotional, adventurous, and good to look at. The characters did grow on me and I will miss them.
Lost in Space: Infestation (2018)
Still enjoying the adventure
Science aside, this is more fantasy. That's okay with me as it has been the same with Indiana Jones and James Bond. The impossible becomes possible for the hero(es).
Finally, the ship is up and out! Yeh!
I am wondering how the characters June left behind are doing and when they will come back to the story and meet up with the Robinson's... and the "doctor".
I am not liking the villain at all. Nasty person!
Also wondering, doesn't the robot need more fire? I'm starting to worry about the robot.
I hope we get to see Selma Blair again, somehow.
Lost in Space: Diamonds in the Sky (2018)
this is a family series, we'll see where the stories go
Overall, I enjoyed this episode. There is a lot of action and varying geography. We get to see more of the planet and more time is spent with the characters.
- dialogue is light and a bit on the young side, making this a family show
- the humour is also for a younger audience
- character development is there (I don't like the "doctor"! At this point not a good person)
- the planet is interesting: metal dropping storms, mountain peaks, forest, desert, and caves - all with different parts of the story or characters
- with all the characters dispersed and yet to be found, I thought of the show Lost
- the music and energy reminds me of Raiders of the Lost Ark
- the younger characters seemed smarter in the previous episode
- the teenage impatience and recklessness is so far paying off.
Lost in Space: Impact (2018)
I didn't see the original, good start
I enjoyed this episode. Looking forward to the 2nd.
- I like the way they edited the story in this episode
- there was suspense for me
- the story arcs kept me interested
- so far I am interested in the characters
Spoiler part
- the dialogue had me worried, that it was a bit stupid but it was really humour
- I felt an atmosphere of E. T. in some places
- the planet is intriguing
- I hope they can get the ship out of the water!
- I like the look of the ships and station that blew up
- it's a different take on the Swiss Family Robinson.
