The Earthshot Prize: Repairing Our Planet (2021)
Hypocrisy knows no bounds
Love to know what uncle Daves carbon footprint is?? Need I say more????????
Okay I have to add more characters. This is exactly what is wrong with the world right now. Hypocritical dummies telling us plebs that we're ruining the planet while they travel around the world with huge entourages to "show us said plebs" the chaos that "we're" causing. He's not the only one by a long shot but after nearly 80 years of doing what he does he's one of the worst. How much carbon has he added to the atmosphere? No that doesn't matter because it's posh Dave and we all love him. Well I don't. He can stay home and I'll fly to Spain for 2 weeks in the sun.
1923 (2022)
Really wanted to like this but Jurassic park is more believable
With Harrison Ford and Hellen Mirren as lead actors in a setting I love I thought this would be my new go to. Episode 1. A 31 year old woman is supposed to be a schoolgirl, a man in Africa shoots a full grown 350lb lion as it hits him at full run but he comes out without a scratch. After this he takes on a couple hundred German soldiers with just a knife and pistol but comes out on top. I ignored these things along with other bs and the usual ignorance about Americans 'owning land' (if I turn up and murder a town in America now I'm a mass murderer, if I did it 150 years ago to the people it really belonged too I'm a settler) The turn off point for me was in episode 2 when attacked by 2 leopards, which never happens even as they tried to bs away by saying they're a mating pair (they don't hunt while mating) superman again survives with barely a scratch. If billed as a superhero or sf show then that's ok but not what it's advertised as.
Black Bird (2022)
Find your own identity
Great premise but ruined by giving this Egerton bloke too much power as executive producer. In the first episode alone he's trying to be Di Niro to start then he switches it to Christian Bale in American Psycho.
Such a shame they cast a lead actor with so little self confidence but gave him so much power over his own role.
For All Mankind (2019)
Great show. Not for NRA members or Trump followers
Decided to give it a go despite the bad reviews on here. People have written about a "militant lesbian" president (she's the opposite of militant but is gay which will upset the bigots) and a "soap opera" storyline. I think the real issue is it's a (closeted) gay woman president which will always upset the Chads and evangelists out there.
Well, if you're after a space documentary then head for the discovery channel. The storylines are soap opera in the same way they were in Star Trek, Star Wars or any other sci fi broadcast. It's what most people call character development and personal interest to the background.
If you like space or sci-fi shows/movies/books give it a go. If you hate the idea of a woman president so much then don't.
Elvis (2022)
Doesn't even claim to be authentic
So Baz Lurman has ruined another great idea and Tom Hanks has thought Oscar!!! A modern Elvis biopic would make such a great watch but good old Baz has decided to just make up what he thinks might have happened. This man even ruined Shakespeare, kind of says it all.
Don't Look Up (2021)
Not sure the actors realise they're parodying themselves
A movie that's obviously about climate change denial starring multi continent travelling actors who don't think they're contributing to climate change.the films garbage and 1 giant hypocritical rant. Leo's got fat, Kate blanchett has had so much plastic surgery she's almost unrecognisable, Jennifer Lawrence is great as usual.
I want my 2 hours back.
Yesterday (2019)
Plagiarism celebrated??? Lance Armstrong on a guitar
If you like the idea of the kardashians and all of the other nonentities who crave fame without talent then you will love this! A talentless musician realises he is the only person in the world who remembers the Beatles so uses that to gain fame, fortune and "love"?? What a crock. Take credit for plaigurism. Listen to a Madness song. De dah, you're an embarrassment, de dah!!!
