A Perfect Planet (2021)
It's lecture time
Great photography by a dedicated team, but the whole show is utterly ruined by the sword of damecles hanging over every single episode. That sword is of course the BBC mandated preachy lecture on climate change, and the one sided nature of the messaging makes it nothing short of propaganda. The people who predicted the world would be devastated by 2020 are telling us their never ending stories of doom still. Maybe this time they're right but I'm always deeply suspicious of any program that only bothers with one side of the argument.
Doctor Who: Arachnids in the UK (2018)
The slide into SJW hell
The show has abandoned any notions of being a joyous bit of escapism in favour of garnering all the SJW brownie points it can and being far too preachy for its own good. To sum up this episode i'd say the story can be encapsulated by the phrase "Orange Man Bad". The characterisation of Trump surrogate Robertson has all the subtlety of a piece of communist propaganda. Yes Chibnall we know only too well that you and your clique of champagne socialists don't like Trump. Whittaker is totally lacking any of the Doctor's air of a timeless wisdom that all the previous actors brought to the role, and just seems like a middle aged woman trying to be down with the kids. This show is a dumpster fire. Can't wait for the Brexit themed episode to drop soon.
