Fighter (2024)
10/10
No coffin is more beautiful than the one covered with your country's flag
26 January 2024
Fighter was the most anticipated movie in 2024 for me as it was advertised as the first aerial action movie in India. Not only it's the first in India but also quite rare in Hollywood with Top Gun & Dunkirk coming to mind. It's a fascinating subject that hardly ever gets touched upon.

It starred Hrithik Roshan in the lead and directed by Siddharth Anand who also made Bang Bang!, War & Pathaan. Which exhanced my excitement as I loved all 3 films.

After watching Fighter it's official that Siddharth Anand is Bollywood's best action director. It was almost 3 hours & didn't have a single boring moment with really good pacing. The story is a fictional retelling of the Pulwana incident in 14th February 2019.

The best way to describe this movie is Top Gun meets Gadar. It had similar vibes to Top Gun but the story felt more like Gadar.

Other than the top notch action everyone acted really well and the character development was so good that you cared for each & every single one of them. Even the villain was amazing & I even liked his red eye look as it personified his anger and rage. Every single character had a back story, a personilty as well as a goal that made them interesting and makes you invest in the story.

In the first half before the interval what I really liked that it focuses on their teamwork, training, & mission briefing rather than constant jokes that gets tiring after a while (A mistake most Bollywood movies make). It had a funny moment when Patty was asking for biryani from 2 overweight women and that's all the comedy we needed. Every song was good that fitted well with the story and Sher Khul Gaye was the best one.

The second half had most of action and wasn't just in the sky but also takes place on the ground such as hand to hand combat, which was perfect as it felt more personal and upfront.

I hope Fighter becomes a blockbuster and I'm already looking forward to the sequel because some journeys are so beautiful that you don't want them to end.

Dunki (2023)
7/10
A Donkey that Hee-haws in the first half but kicks in the second half
21 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
When this film was announced we were all expecting this to be another Swades but isn't even close.

During the first half the film dragged on quite badly with jokes that were cringeworthy rather than funny like constantly chanting "I want to go to the lavatory" I mean who says lavatory? It's always toilet or bathroom.

They were really focusing on the unfunny humour that made you feel guilty for not laughing at them although they could've focused more on the character development and more on the motives behind that why they are so desperate to go to the UK so we can care for them a lot more.

Vicky Kaushal stole the whole show in the first half and his acting was good also his character was well developed but didn't even bother to show his girlfriend's face that he was caring for so much, so how can we care for her?

The second half was much more improved that it saved the whole movie where they go on their Dunki journey although it felt rushed because they had to make up the time, they wasted in the first half. Like when they were on a river, desert, and snowy mountains. The river and desert scenes were amazing, but the snowy mountains scene was a very disappointedly "blink and you miss it" moment and could have been very easily expanded upon it like being chased by wolves and trying to warm themselves with a fire. It was such a beautiful scene that was wasted.

Basically, the whole movie should've been like the second half with flashbacks of the first half not lasting too long then we as an audience cannot just be entertained but also be associated with the social message behind the movie that the amount of trouble the immigrants go through.

SRK had more to do after the interval and he acted well and his chemistry with Tapsee was poor and didn't make us care about their relationship.

Overall, I have mixed feelings about this movie and my biggest problem with the movie is that all the bad stuff was dragged and highlight, and the good stuff was rushed and unfocused.

It's a 7/10 for me but it's definitely not a masterpiece as some people claim it to be.

Ganapath (2023)

Mad Max meets Bloodsport
20 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The movie was advertised as a non-stop action-packed fighting movie which this movie successfully delivered.

I was really missing the 80s Van Damme fighting movies like Bloodsport and Kickboxer and the genre was ignored for quite a while even in Hollywood and I'm glad to see another one.

The first half was like Mad Max and after the Interval became like Bloodsport the two of my favourite films and yet Ganapath was its own thing. If you remove the fast vehicles in Mad Max and replace it with fighting, then you get Ganapath.

The story is for what it is, but I really liked Tiger's character development like how he was a carless playboy and became a freedom fighter for society and I felt that Tiger's acting is gradually getting better, and he Is the Indian Van Damme.

I'm really looking forward to Ganapath Part 2 and hopefully Tiger will make more films like these and this is his Identity.

Jawan (2023)

One of the worst films I've ever seen
7 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
After Pathaan I thought that SRK is back on track but I was so wrong.

The movie started off interesting with a Robin Hood storyline but got worse every minute.

It jumps from one scene to another without any consistently and tried really hard to be a Zack Snyder like movie with it's slow mo and close up shots.

Every character was uninteresting without being introduced properly.

SRK works as a jailer in a woman prison and gets along so well with the female inmates so well that one of the female inmates starts singing with a guy's voice and then dance to the Zinda Banda song and they took the time to light up the prison as a disco.

Nayanthara's character fell in love with SRK and married him after just one song Challya and didn't consider the possiblity that the marriage could of been an ambush.

The old SRK doesn't remember anything but still saves his son before the interval.

The action was atrocious with old men on scooters taking out big lorries. Srk threw a cigar in the motorcycle fuel tank but conveniently didn't explode until it hit the other vehicles and expected the audience to except it.

SRK had a team of 6 girls and not a single one was likeable.

So the amount of stupidity certainly did cross the limits.

0/10.

War (2019)

War is Raw Power
2 October 2019
This year has been quite poor for Bollywood films with Super 30 so far the only movie I liked and now War and both have Hrithik Roshan in them which shows you that he knows what kind of movies he should appear in.

As soon as the movie starts it grabs the viewer's attention and gets straight into the action and doesn't lose it's grip.

Other than the terrific action that most people are talking about, the entire movie was really suspenseful that why Kabir (Hrithik Roshan) went rouge and was loaded with twist and turns that were completely unpredictable.

It's also great to see a Bollywood "Mission Impossible" after a long time since 16 December. I felt that some scenes were very similar to the Mission Impossible franchise such as the flight break in was from MI5, the motorcycle though fire was from MI2, the motorcycle chase from MI6.

Tiger was really good and he definitely is the action star of this generation and I'm really looking forward to his Rambo movie out next year also the same director.

The only downside of this movie is that the camera work is quite poor and moves a lot and doesn't stay still which is unusual for a Bollywood movie as Hollywood has this problem. So I hope this mistake doesn't repeat again other than I really enjoyed this movie and can't wait to see whats next for Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff.

I'm a die hard fan of the game series as it was a breakthrough in the first person shooter and you are a space marine shooting demons from hell on Mars and just can't get any more awesome.

I was really hoping for another Doom movie after The Rock Doom because I really liked that one as well but a sequel was unlikely because it flopped at the box office but now we finally have a reboot after 14 years.

When the promos of Doom: Annihilation were released online a lot of Doom fans were disappointed (myself included) that the main lead was a woman instead of the bad-ass Doom guy, also thought that it was a feminist movie.

But I still seen it with an open mind and after watching it I was really happy with it because it had a lot of references of the game such as the portal, chainsaw, Hell, UAC, BFG and the blue, red & yellow key cards. So if it didn't have the awesome Doom guy it did had other references and was a faithful adaptation of the game.

In Doom: Annihilation its about a whole team working together which includes men and woman that made more sense because if it was just one person taking on demons throughout the movie then it would look silly and cartoonish, it works in a game but not in a movie.

The first half had zombies and IMPs in the second half so it could of used more demons such as the Cacodemons as they are my favourite demons from the game but I think they are saving some for the sequel. The zombies were really scary looking and were really fast & super aggressive which was good to see after a long time of slow zombies in the media since the Dawn of the Dead remake.

The IMPs were actually shooting fireballs which was really nostalgic for me and reminded me when I was playing the game and made the players tilt their heads while playing it.

It had an open ending and an explanation that why it had an "Annihilation" in the title because a lot of movies have an extra word in the tile that has nothing to do with the story.

A lot of people won't like this movie and I can understand why as it is not everyone's taste but I really enjoyed as it was a perfect Saturday night movie and had a blast while watching it and not every movie has to be an Oscar nomination for best picture quality for it to be entertaining.

Doom: Annihilation is what it is and what you see is what you get.

Ready or Not?.....Who is ready for this trash?
30 September 2019
Honestly this junk is one of the worst films I've ever seen

As a person who loves films and can watch bad films with patience but this was pure nonsense for me.

The movie was nothing but a Get Out rip off and can't even copy well.

Get Out was good because it knows what it wants to be but Ready or Not doesn't.

Is it a Thriller? Horror? Suspenseful? Slasher? Black Comedy? If it is any of them then it fails miserably.

The movie was like fat guy stripping down naked and flashing his bum and waving his belly and expecting you not just to laugh but also like him but it just back fires.

I've seen over 20 films in the IMDB bottom 100 and Ready or Not makes them look like masterpieces.

Pure garbage which is why I walked out of the cinema after 20 minutes of torture.

It's a really sad world we live in where a lot of really good scripts don't get made into movies and other projects get cancelled or gets into development hell but trash like these get made.

To survive a war, you gotta become war
19 September 2019
Sylvester Stallone is probably the only actor ever to maintain two movie franchises in five decades with Rocky and Rambo.

Its really hard to talk about this movie without spoiling it as there is so much to spoil.

Judging by the trailers it was described as Taken meets Home Alone and that's what it turned out to be but don't let you put you off from this movie as it feels like a fresh new take on the Rambo franchise and every snowflake has it own design.

First Blood was the best Rambo movie as it had emotional content and character development then the rest of them were entertaining action movies and Last Blood stays true to the original. I'm really glad that they didn't make another war action movie with tanks and gunships as the previous three Rambo movies already did that. In this movie Rambo was using strategy over fire power just like the first one.

Before the release of this movie the original concept was "Rambo V: The Savage Hunt" where Rambo had to find and destroy a genetically engineered monster and was based on a novel called Hunter by James Bryon Hunter and Sly owns the rights for but didn't get green-lit, maybe because it was too similar to Predator. So I was really disappointed when I heard that as it was a fascinating concept but after watching this movie I think it was for the best.

The best thing about Rambo: Last Blood is that it makes you feel for the main characters which is what a lot of movies nowadays are failing to do and if you want nothing but brainless action then it's best avoided.

Crawl (I) (2019)
10/10
Best Movie of 2019!
24 August 2019
Movies like MCU and Disney remakes are nothing but fanboy and nostalgic cash grabs and they know they will make a lot of money so therefore they don't care about the content or quality of the film but Crawl is nothing like that because it is a fresh new horror film that isn't a sequel, prequel, remake, reboot or demake.

There are plenty of crocodile films on SYFY but they aren't what I was looking for what I was really looking for was an entire film like the crocodile in the sewers scene from the game Resident Evil 2 and my prayers were answered. The SYFY ones are campy in bright daylight with bad CGI.

Crawl grabbed the viewers attention as soon as it begins and keeps you on the edge of the seat until the very end. The entire film was incredibly suspenseful, nail-biting and knows what it wants to be.

It had a really dark and sinister tone that really did suit the mood for the film as well as the hurricane, wind and heavy rain did add the extra tension.

Personally I didn't have any problems with and it is easily the best movie of 2019 and the best Crocodile/Alligator film of all time!

Decent flick but fails to scrape the sky
12 July 2018
I was expecting this to be a decent rehash of die hard as in an action film that takes place in a tall building but it turned out to be an extended version of the buraj khalifa scene in Mission Impossible 4.

The biggest problem with this movie is that it is a hang on for your life thriller rather than an action film. The building had no hostages which didn't create any tension or thrills for the movie and Dwane's character knew is way around the building before the pearl building was hijacked.

Overall it wasn't bad either and was entertaining and I would'n't watch it again.

Weakest of the franchise
8 July 2018
I'm a huge fan of this franchise as I think it is a brilliant concept and I loved the previous 3 instalments.

I always wondered as what exactly happened that made the government create this event and this movie was supposed to explain the events that led up to as it is called the first purge.

This movie failed miserably to explain that what caused the first purge experiment and became another one night terror film although we already had 3 films that did that.

This movie had a perfect opportunity to become more of a political thriller where people and politicians are arguing with each other and try to make the purge experiment more convincing and that would of made it the best film of the franchise.

However I't wasn't all bad and I still enjoyed it has another one night terror film and was really dark that made the film a sinister feel to it.

Sanju (2018)

Sanju Baba you are a legend!!!!
30 June 2018
Sanjay Dutt has always been in my top 5 favourite actors in Bollywood after I seen his mind blowing performance in Khalnayak and he doesn't get the attention he deserves.

When a biographical film was announced I was really exited about it but I didn't like the idea of another actor playing him because Sanjay Dutt himself could of played the role but after watching Ranbir Kapoor's performance I realised that I was completely wrong. I kept reminding myself that this is Rabir not Sanjay

Sanjay Dutt probably had that the most difficult and Interesting life than any other actor in Bollywood History so a biographical film based on his life was a really good idea.

The movie was more about his personal life rather than his film career and focused on the main highlights of his life. The first half was about him as a young man and the the second half was about his adulthood. The entire movie will make you laugh and cry.

I'm so glad that I got to experience Sanju's incredible journey and it is so far the best movie of 2018.

Race 3 (2018)

Race 3 came in 3rd place of the trilogy
15 June 2018
I really liked the first 2 race films mainly because they were directed by Abbas-Mustan but they didn't return for the 3rd instalment which was a big disappointment.

This is just a different movie with "Race" in the title that tried really hard to be intelligent but just ended up being plain dumb fun and I didn't even bother to link all of the character's motives with one an other as the film makers clearly didn't as well. It was like they are changing their minds rather than making sure they know who's side they are on.

The action was the only thing that saved the movie but some it is was cheesy and the first wing suit stunt looked faker than a PS1 game.

It was good to see Bobby Deol back which is what I liked about it and you can tell that he was well prepared for the role after a long come back.

The songs were not only bad but was a huge misfit for this kind of movie, probably for any Bollywood movie as they were mostly romantic songs and this is supposed to be an action thriller. The songs were a total waste and appeared every 10 minutes.

If there is anything that I learned from this movie is that if anyone betrays you then you should sing a song to them, I talking about the Allah Duhai Hai song.

Overall this is nothing more than a time-pass movie if your not a Salman Khan fan.

Resident Evil: Full of Life
5 September 2010
I am a huge fan of the video game series; I've played & completed every Resident Evil game there is and I have 100% trophies of Resident Evil 5.

I loved the previous Resident Evil movie trilogy although many fans were disappointed by them because it wasn't to close to the games and Alice is the main character who isn't in any game. The filmmakers can't please everyone when it comes to movies based on video games because if the movie is very similar to the game then people will say that "What is the point of the movie when it is just as same as the game?" but if it is very different then people will complain that it is not related to the game in any way, shape or form. What Paul W.S Anderson has done is created an original story and had the setting of the game in the first film & in this one as well. Which is the best thing to do and he has proved that he is a terrific writer & director, he may not be the best filmmaker ever but he does know how to make good movies based on games and he is one of my favourite directors. His two movies Mortal Kombat & Resident Evil are both the best video game adaptations to date.

The plot of Resident Evil: Afterlife is that it takes place after Extinction and Alice is continuing to look for survivors in world that has been infected by T-Virus that has turned into flesh eating zombies plus she wants to take revenge on Albert Wesker and this time she if fully prepared with her clones, telekinetic powers and awesome weapons. Fighting Wesker isn't an easy task because he is superhuman himself just like in Resident Evil 5. This instalment is very close to the games and particularly Resident Evil Code Veronica & Resident Evil 5. Those who have played the 2 games will get flashbacks while watching the movie.

This was the most anticipated film for me this year and it absolutely did not disappoint me at all. I loved every minute of it right from start to end. Resident Evil: Afterlife was relentlessly entertaining, exiting and a perfect popcorn movie at the cinema kind. The movie had a great blend of action, horror, sci-fi and thriller. This one had a much more post-apocalyptic look than in extinction and has amazing special & visual effects in just in a $60 million budget. The monsters were just like in Resident Evil 5, e.g. the zombies look like the majini's with their predator like mouth, the executioner and the dogs that split their heads open with teeth inside it. So it was fascinating to see that.

The cast was great, Milla needs no introduction & is fantastic just like always and she is improving in acting, stunts and she doesn't struggle to get the job done because she can do it. Shawn Roberts was a much better Albert Wesker than Jason O'Mara in Extinction.

Overall it's not an Oscar winning kind movie & it doesn't need to be. It's a movie for the fans not for critics so ignore their negative reviews but I had a really good time watching it since I am a fan and check it out if you're looking for an entertaining movie and it's a must see if you are a Resident Evil fan.

Piranha 3D (2010)

Blood, Guts, Teeth, & Naked flesh in Red Water in 3D...What more can you ask for?
20 August 2010
I really liked the original Piranha (1978) and the 1995 TV remake so I was really excited about the 2010 remake, particularly when I heard that it is in 3D and when I saw the trailer that makes you want to go see the movie. I have always loved underwater horror movies ever since I've seen the all time classic Jaws (1975).

The story is that there has been an underwater earthquake which has unleashed prehistoric piranhas. These piranhas were supposed to be extinct 2 million years ago but their habitat was 200 feet underground of the sea all along. The rest of the story is all about stupid teenagers who can't act and we don't care about trying to avoid turning into fish food. This kind of story is a much better idea because Piranhas are generally not that aggressive.

The movie was bashed even before it was released because most people thought it was a cheesy movie with bad CGI but I loved every minute of it because it was so entertaining; fun, very relentless and I had a really good time watching it.

Piranha 3D is not a masterpiece or is going to the Oscars (unless it is nominated for the best movie with flesh getting peeled off the bones) it is just a fun popcorn movie that has more than enough to keep you entertained.

If you are the kind of person that likes gore or nudity or both then check this movie out. Personally I enjoy gore and also if you liked Snakes on a Plane.

Overall Horror & Thriller are my favourite genders which Piranha is and after a long time there is an underwater horror movie that can be seen on the big screen since not every movie is the kind that can be viewed on the cinema.

Inception (2010)
5/10
A good idea that wasn't planted well
19 August 2010
Christopher Nolan is one of my favourite directors and Memento & The Dark Knight are my favourite movies but for the first time I am disappointed with his movie Inception. The film is all about is all about stealing & planting ideas in people's mind by using their dreams.

The idea of the movie is good but the bad screenplay, 2.5 hours length that drags really badly, plot holes & unanswered questions & Cobb's annoying wife ruined the whole movie.

Inception is supposed to be a movie that requires multiple views to understand it like Memento but there is no way I will watch it again for the second time because it wasn't that confusing and it boring throughout. The dream sequences were not dreamlike and only the hotel dream looked cool. Cobb's wife was so annoying that I wanted to pull my arm out and constantly bash my head with it. There were so many unanswered questions like what year is the movie set in? Why does Cobb steal ideas and now he has to plant one? It was 2.5 hours long and they still couldn't explain anything.

Inception isn't even original it is ripped off from a Japanese animated movie called "Paprika" which was out in 2006.

I don't know why it is #3 on the IMDb top 250 it is not a visionary masterpiece or anything and it is only about 80% on rotten tomatoes and there are many great movies with 90+% on rotten tomatoes and they are not on the top 250 like Run Lola Run.

It is nothing but an over hyped movie and the film makers must of written that "Inception is good" on a piece of paper and planted it in people's mind although it's not.

Avatar (2009)
10/10
Avatar is a masterpiece & a breakthrough in cinema
15 December 2009
Warning: Spoilers
It was Terminator in the 1980's and then Titanic in the '90s and it's definitely Avatar in the 2000s!!

James Cameron is my most favourite director and he has once again broken all boundaries and created a visual extravaganza.

Avatar is Cameron's latest magnum opus is probably one of the most anticipated movies since Titanic and now it seems that the visionary director has indeed created a film that'll revolutionise the world of cinema.

The movie is set in the year 2154 and is about a man called Jake who can't walk and he is selected in the Avatar program where he has to go to Pandora jungle which is not a planet but it is one of the three giant gasses that is about 4 light years away from earth. On Pandora there are life forms such as the navis that are about 10 feet tall have sparkly blue skin, big eyes and tails. The humans have genetically bred human-navi hybrids known as Avatars. Jake is able to walk but falls in love with a female navi and now he has to choose the side between humans or the navis.

The film was absolutely fascinating, interesting, entertaining and emotional. I loved the look on the Pandora jungle and it must be the best scenery in film history and the navis are definitely the best digital characters since Gollum from The Lord of the Rings. The special effects are so amazing that Pandora looks like a real location and you can mistake the navis as real characters. Avatar was almost 3 hours but it didn't seem that long.

Avatar already makes it on my top 5 favourite movies and I intend to see it again and I am already waiting for it to release on Blu Ray because I'm sure that it will be one of the best Blu Ray titles.

2012 (I) (2009)
10/10
Finally a real apocalypse movie
13 December 2009
There have been many movies with end of the world story lines but there never was a movie made where we get to see the apocalypse happening properly but now we do with 2012. I was really disappointed with Ronald Emmerich's previous film 10,000BC but now he is back on track. The story is based on the Mayan calendar theory that the world will end in 21st December 2012.

Before I seen the movie I was wondering that how are they going to have a proper storyline for a 2.5 hour movie on just an end of the world topic but the movie revolved around many people such as a failed writer with family, the president and a geologist which made a really good 2.5 hour film & I loved the suspense that was building up towards the apocalypse. The best scene was the destruction at California. There were some comical scenes such that were really funny like the Indian man at the start said "that felt so good" and the chicken that was about to get headed also they did not ruin the movie because 2012 is meant to be a serious film.

Overall 2012 was a really interesting, entertaining, funny, emotional and a blockbuster movie. The only reason why anyone would hate it would be because it's that good.

This Is It (2009)
10/10
A fantastic tribute to the legend that will always live on in our hearts.
11 November 2009
I truly love Michael Jackson ever since the first time I heard about him. He is the greatest singer, dancer, music composer, song writer, actor, entertainer and person the world has ever known. He is recognised as the King of Pop but that title is so limited for him because he is much, much more than that.

When I heard about his death I was about to faint and I felt sick, then I spent about five hours watching his music videos and I couldn't sleep all night. I never seen Michael Jackson perform live so I really wanted to see him at the O2 arena in London but sadly that cannot happen and now this movie is here so we can see him on the big screen.

I was really looking forward to this movie and counting the days remaining towards the release date when it was announced. This is the only movie I got the advanced tickets otherwise I always get the tickets on the day I see the movie. I usually get popcorn and juice at the movies but not for this one because I just wanted to focus on him.

Anyway This is it is really it. The movie was fantastic, amazing, heartfelt, emotional, colourful, glossy, and a visual treat. The director Kenny Ortega has done a really good job with the movie because there were about a hundred hours of footage of the rehearsals and he picked the out the best ones and compiled them in the right order creating a really good screenplay and the way the This is it concert would've been.

It is really hard to pick out the best bits because it was brilliant right from the very first second to the last. During the Human Nature song my heart was flying and I loved the new segments of Thriller and Earth Song.

I also felt really sad while watching this film because they are Michael's last days mainly the They Don't Care About Us song which was shot two days before his death. At the end of every song I starting applauding in the cinema and everyone else started to cheer as well. Although I never applauded in the cinema before.

Overall anything related to Michael Jackson is always great whether it is songs, music videos, interviews or even movies. If there is anything Michael can not do is make anything awful. I only his music and no one else's. Off The Wall, Thriller, Bad, Dangerous, HIStroy, Blood On The Dance Floor and Invincible are my all time most favourite albums.

Michael Jackson may not be with us anymore but his legacy will live on forever and he still is and always will be the King of Kings. Michael Jackson I want to say "Thank You!" not "Goodbye".

G I Joe: Rise of an entertaining and rocking movie
10 November 2009
G I Joe: Rise of Cobra is not a masterpiece or is going to the Oscars or anything like that. It is just a fun popcorn movie that has more than enough to keep you entertained.

I was really looking forward to this movie when the first time heard about it because it is directed by Stephen Sommers and I really like his style of film making. Not every single movie is worthy to watch on the big screen but his films are such as The Mummy, The Mummy Returns, Van Helsing and now G I Joe: Rise of Cobra.

The movie was absolutely awesome, it had amazing action, advanced technology, brilliant costumes, hundreds of vehicle explosions, reasonable storyline and twist & turns.

My most favourite parts are the chase scene in Paris & the test of the nano technology on the Eiffel tower not just because it had the most action but also because it was very well directed and the cameras were absolutely still so you can see what's happening and I loved it.

Overall there is nothing more you can ask from a movie like this and I intend to get it on blu ray.

Transforms into nothing but boredom
9 November 2009
Yikes what happened to Michael Bay after he made the first enjoyable flick. I was forward to this one so I seen it on the IMAX and I hated it right from start to end. There was absolutely no story and so painfully boring throughout. The movie had so many ridiculous jokes (mostly sexual) that were not even a jot funny and they actually embarrass you.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen tried its level best to be as entertaining as possible but it actually had the opposite effect. Anyone who has liked this torture device should go see a doctor.

This is probably the second movie after The Dark Knight with IMAX scenes and even those scenes were awful, they were not well made and were merged to normal scenes. So there was an IMAX scene for a few seconds then a normal scene then IMAX until it drives you mad. The Dark Knight had amazing IMAX scenes. Anyway after I seen this stupid movie I had a headache for about a few hours. Overall it is the biggest let-down of the year after Spider Man 3.

Salvation of the franchise
1 November 2009
Terminator Salvation has saved the franchise. The first two terminator films are my all time favourites but the third one was not needed so a reboot was a much better idea than making Terminator 4.

Terminator Salvation is a beginning of a new trilogy and we finally get to see the war between the machines and the humans lead by John Connor instead of another time travel concept.

The movie was really interesting & entertaining right from the beginning to the end with a lot of soul about John Connor a prophet who is mankind's only hope for survival in a post-apocalyptic world.

We also get to see new machines instead of just the T-800s and they were a lot more darker & sinister looking than the ones in the previous films. Christian Bale's performance was amazing and McG who is not a well known director has done a really good job with a high budget summer movie.

Watchmen (2009)
10/10
So far the best movie to watch this year
5 March 2009
2008 was a great year for comic book movies but this year isn't looking to good. Watchmen is probably the most anticipated comic book movie of the year which lived to its expectation. I'm into the DC comics and there aren't many films based on the DC universe and Watchmen is added into the list which is why this is one of the most awaited films of the year for me.

The story is set in an alternate 1985 America where tensions between the United States and the Soviet Union are high and the "Doomsday Clock" is set at five minutes to midnight, former superhero turned vigilante Rorschach discovers that one of his former colleagues has been murdered. As he investigates the murder he uncovers a plot that is intent on killing and discrediting all past and present superheroes. As he reconnects with members of his former crime-fighting legion, including Nite Owl II, Silk Spectre II and Dr. Manhattan, they uncover a wide-ranging and disturbing conspiracy that not only links to their shared past but has catastrophic consequences for the future.

Watchmen is such an amazing film that is entertaining and exciting throughout, the story is really appealing and is assembled with glossy professionalism. I really like Zack Snyder's style of film making it is visionary and has lots of slow motions. The slow motion scenes may be annoying for some people but not for me because I think that it makes the scene very effective. The cinematography was excellent and you can see every penny spent from the $120 million budget.

Overall Watchmen doe's have something for most people to enjoy and I really intend to watch the movie again on the IMAX because I know that it will be like a dream world in that experience.

13 reasons why Friday the 13th is good
13 February 2009
Back to Camp Crystal lake again. The twelfth (couldn't they have made it 13th?) Friday the 13th movie of my favourite teen slasher series, so long-time fans will have a fair idea what to expect. Probably also the ideal date movie for February 14.

Everything's getting remade and eventually horror will eat itself. This isn't actually a straight remake of the original but a do-over covering the first three films. This has high-impact Hollywood potential: Michael Bay is producing, the screenplay's written by the guys behind Freddy Vs Jason and Marcus Nispel, who helmed the not-awful Texas Chain Saw Massacre remake directs. The movie features Supernatural's Jared Padalecki, Amanda Righetti from The OC and Shark star Danielle Panabaker.

The 13 reasons why this movie rocked are: 1. A lot better than the original. 2. Keeps you entertained right from start to end. 3. The next Jason Voorhees film after 6 years. 4. Keeps you riveted. 5. Worth you time. 6. Worth your money. 7.Enough blood & gore to keep the slasher fans pleased. 8. A lot of scenes to "Wow" you. 9. Good screenplay. 10. Cool cinematography. 11. Takes you back to the awesome 80s. 12. Dark and sinister. 13. The kids head back to Crystal lake for another game of hockey.

Overall I don't mind remakes as long as they are good but this one a lot better than the original and do check this this one out on DVD if not the big screen.

Raaz- the Mystery that should be revealed
27 January 2009
The movie deals with issues of the "evil within" the human psyche and how it manifests itself. It is based on the myths and superstitions that are still widely existent in the contemporary Indian society. The film attempts to challenge one's beliefs about paranormal phenomena. It is about anticipation of fear and the fright residing within ones' self. Emraan Hashmi plays a painter, named Prithvi, who has an extraordinary gift. His paintings tell Kangana Ranaut's character's future. It is a bit similar to The Omen but not a complete inspiration.

I really like scary horror movies which is what Raaz- the Mystery Continues is. It was really interesting and entertaining throughout and you just don't know that what is going to happen next. Bollywood has always been weak in the horror genre but they are showing some progress now. Emraan Hashmi and Kangana Ranaut both acted really well and I prefer eerie & frighting scenes in a horror movie rather than violence & gore because the main aim of horror genre is to scare which is what the film had.

The music of Emraan Hashmi's films are always good and the music of the first Raaz was amazing so it was important that the music is good for this movie and it was not as good as the first but the song Maahi is really haunting.

There is one thing I don't understand about the title that why is called "Raaz- the Mystery Continues"? Because it is not a sequel to the 2002 movie Raaz which was a Hollywood version of What Lies Beneath. They simply could've called it Raaz - the Mystery or Secret.
