Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (1999)
Too much Benson, serious Benson, angry Benson
Why are people so angry at each other? Why is Olivia so angry, all the time?? She's more angry, more husky, more serious. Clearly that's intentional, for gravitas or something, as her persona used to be caring and energetic. Every episode is about her now, she's always front and center, scowling and quivering her chin. If Mariska Hargitay can act, she needs to do something other than this. I miss the other engaging characters, Barba, Cabot, Amaro, Rollins, Cragen, Garland, and others. I love Fin, please never leave. For the love of god please reduce Benson dominance and please make this more like earlier days when there was a partnership and a cast of complementary actors.
Bay of Fires (2023)
Way too clichéd
Exactly as others have said, so clichéd!!
I love Toby Leonard Moore, was looking forward to seeing him. He was almost unrecognisable but at least he was believable.
Marta Düsseldorp is also usually excellent but she lays it on too thick: this out of place upper class highly educated white woman who is so naive that it's not funny, in a quaint, dank and dark Tassie town.
Huge fan of Stephen Curry but his character is annoying to the point of not being watchable. His whole schtick is not believable.
Only other hope was seeing Matt Nable but he was not visible in episode 1
I wanted to love this but no I cannot watch another minute.
Major Crimes (2012)
Bring the show back, MINUS Rusty.
Rusty is AWFUL. The show is OK, bring it back minus the whiny disruptive kid.
I loved The Closer, and I was happy most of the characters have returned for this show. We've just had a rerun of The Closer and I happily rewatched every episode.
They followed it with reruns the successor, this show. I knew I hated Rusty, but I gave it another go. Nope, still sets my teeth on edge EVERY time he's in a scene. Awful that Sharon fizzles for him too.
The Brenda & Fitz side story was entertaining. Rusty & Sharon is terrible. Are they created by the same writers?
Bring back Major Crimes, minus Rusty. Bonus if it has Brenda or Pope too.
Black Widow (2021)
Boring. But 10/10 for casting Florence and O-T
The plot was humdrum and the acting was predictable. I do like the spice and variety that Florence and O-T bring though, and I kept watching because of them. I think Scarlet is absolutely beautiful but she acts like she's got a chip on her shoulder, both her character, and herself. Oh, and I do like David Harbour too. But his character was underdeveloped and he was just a bit of side entertainment, nothing meaningful.
The Long Call (2021)
Too many sullen looks and stares
I don't mind a good noir detective story. I usually like them. This is just painfully sullen and glacial. I've lost count of the gloomy silences and dark stares. Blimey! All the time!
CSI: Vegas (2021)
Made me sad
10/10 for trying to bring back one of my favorites. But it made me sad. The corny one liners are sad. Grissom and Sarah kowtowing to the "new guard", or making references to their boat or dog, or whatever they remember, made me sad. Nothing new or creative about the present. The new guard are so unrelatable, they too made me sad. And let's not forget the music, which is played too often and too long: you will be forced to experience suspense even when you don't feel it. Sad face.

Today (1982)
Karl and Ali are not funny. Bring back Lisa.
Bring back Lisa. The forced laughter, the awful jokes, attempts to "rag" each other - this is not funny, it models bad behaviour and removes any authenticity from a supposed news and current affairs program.
