Lost in Space (1998)
A New version with a few surprises
Loved the original, liked this movie, the new series sucked as it lacked action and the man robot was weird. It would have been better to use the movie cast and start again, they were far superior. The more you watch this movie the better you like it. Thumbs up from Me.
Insurgent (2015)
Worst than La Brea
I watched La Brea early this week it was hard to follow, but Insurgent made it look good, what a candy bar si fi attempt, it looked a cross between The Maze and The Matrix, I could not work this boring effort out, if this was better than it first part, the audience must have fallen asleep in the original. Science fiction use to be great but now it has slipped into Neverland.
La Brea (2021)
IT DOES NOT GRAB ME
This show looks great as a promo, but it appears to imitate the series Lost, but without the plane, it delivers virtually nothing like most new wannabe programs. They are too ambitious with ideas that just don't work. This show in my opinion died on the drawing board, sorry about this. I really thought they had a winner, but when I watched it disappointment reigned.
Singin' in the Rain (1952)
Disappointing Movie
When Isaw this film I expected something special, what I got was high camp comedy, Gene Kelly was a great actor, appearing in films Like Xanadu and many other classics, in this film he was stupid, it turned me right off, this film truly sucks, if it was his first film he would be a washed up actor. Sorry Gene, not your best film, no wonder he reverted to a Tv series Going My Way, not a bad show at all, no singing. The show also starred Leo G. Carroll and a very young Dick York (Darin In Bewitched). Nothing else to say really, That is why it scored a 3, it was for the costumes and sets. Not the acting.
The Patron Saint of Liars (1998)
A Modern Epic
I completely enjoyed this movie, great storyline it had overtones of Flowers In The Attic and Heaven, (VC Andrews), better than most modern movies. It draws you into the film as you see all the struggles of this poor woman who tries to find herself through life, it all came together in a happy ending plus the magical water fountain returned to it's origin. A beautiful story to watch if you are feeling low in spirit. Acting was great and the film has a lot of heart .
Stan & Ollie (2018)
Best film since Hitch
This film has delightful nostalgia, characters look close to originals, it was done by the same company as Hitch, (Alfred Hitchcock) which was also brilliant I love the BBC for the style they deliver. Stan and Ollie a must see movie, well deserves the 10 I gave it.
I Am Elizabeth Smart (2017)
A good go to sleep movie
This film seems like a Charles Manson story clone. Very slow to watch if it was on the Cinema I would demand my money back. These film are either great or pathetically poor. I get no buzz from this at all.
I Do, or Die: A Killer Arrangement (2020)
I Do or Die of boredom
I found this movie very slow even though the movie had a 20 minute delay on starting, I could not find any positives at all, so that is why it rated a 1 from me. I actually watched Supergirl before switching back to this film, it was far more interesting and exciting.
Deadly Influencer (2019)
Skylar is so ambitious
The movie is fast paced when an ambitious schoolgirl wants fame and fortune, while eliminating the opposition, she will go to any length including murder to get her own way, if you believe she is a friend it is like putting your trust in the Devil, girls beware Skylar means business. A good film and entertainment unlimited.
The Founder (2016)
Shame on you Krok
I really loved this movie, but despised Krok for corrupting the name of McDonalds, if the McDonald brothers had been successful, McDonalds would have been serving good food instead of preservative trash. Krock made food last longer and sacrificed quality, a shameful exercise. Michael Keaton played an excellent part as Krok.
Murder, She Baked: Just Desserts (2017)
Murder She Wrote was so much better
I found all the action near the end the rest bored me to tears. Where is the entertainment in this reality show movie, what were they thinking. It is a wonder I did not fall asleep while watching. Well worth a 2.
The Wrong Neighbor (2017)
Too Good To Miss
The story is fast paced, as Jamie screams her way through various situations trying to get the reluctant husband to give in to her whims, the mother and daughter are threatened in the end as the resourceful Jamie takes control at the sanitarium, the end leaves you hanging for a sequel, this type of ending is a common end for lifetime TV movies. But generally a good entertaining movie.
The Trouble with Girls (1969)
Levi's Boredom
I found this movie both slow and boring, Elvis past his use by date, it is no wonder he went back to his live performances, this film was a real turkey. I like his earlier film but this one did not deliver and where was he most of the filming, he was only a bit player, come on give me a break. He deserved better movies I feel. I will remember Elvis as a brilliant performer and Legend. Good on you.
He Loves Me (2011)
LEFT UP IN THE AIR
I can't believe what I have just seen so confusing in delivery, Heather Locklear is a wonderful actress and personality, becoming a killer, sad, she appears to be living a fantasy, with her marriage on the rock, lot of things just don't add up and in the end she is with family then it is end of movie, leaving me scratching my head. Just like an Alfred Hitchcock movie, too many loose ends. Very screwy to me. I gave it an 8 rating for storyline. Though it left me in a fantasy world. Clever movie I think, I will leave it to others to judge whether this was an epic movie or a terrible flop. I adore Heather Locklear. She made the film work.
Britney Ever After (2017)
THIS MOVIE IS UNRATEABLE , A Complete Zero
This is the worst movie ever to grace our screens , I feel the makers of this movie should pack up and quit, what we're they thinking, I found this an insult to the real Britney, she deserves better representation. The real Britney had talent and was a star to her fans. I knew movies are not epic like they used to be but this is repulsive trash, this is my honest opinion. I feel sorry for Britney Spears as I feel she is a wonderful person and this movie does not reflect her personality at all.
Trouble with the Curve (2012)
Slow and Boring
Clint Eastwood is not my favourite actor, and the sport aspect doesn't interest me so I watched it and turned it off minutes later the story was going nowhere, I have seen better, other people may have a different view so sorry about this, you enjoy it for yourself.
Home and Away (1988)
Tired , lame and needs to be put down
Home and Away was a great Aussie soap in 1988 to 2000, when the River boys moved in I moved out, I loath the show because it has lost it's magical scripts fun and laughter, replaced by cardboard actors resembling an amateur hour series. Even some of the great actors don't watch it now, we lost Roo Justine Clarke later replaced by fake Roo Georgie Parker, she does not fit in should have stayed in A Country Practice, the show has gone off the rails and over the ravine, bring back the fun and I will improve my score. Early H&A was far superior.
Drive Angry (2011)
The wildest movie I have ever seen
This film makes Fast and Furious tame by comparison. All the action in the World, oh hell yeah, you have to see it to believe it, I am gobsmacked. Cage was a real hell raiser and the girl kicked butt too.
Volcano: Fire on the Mountain (1997)
Nothing Remarable
This is a very basic film, I feel Irwin Allen's talent would have made it more exciting to watch, it is a TV movie so I cannot expect more, I was kind enough to give it 6 for it's effort.
Beaches (2017)
Beaches Was Beautiful
I truly loved this version of Beaches, I thought it was a wonderful film better than the Bette Middler version, the two main stars bonded so well. Idina Menzel came through shining with her singing ability, as she did as Elsa in Frozen, just love her work, she has a striking resemblance to Lea Michelle of Glee, so what more can I say but the story was so beautifully portrayed a definite 10 from me.
Frozen (2013)
Disney Classic
Frozen is one of the most enchanted films since Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs, the song Let It Go, is a timeless beautiful song sang by Elsa, the more you watch this movie the more you like it. I am not a great animation fan but love this film, I am 73, so I have experienced a lot of Disney films, I believe this film is like an opera of sorts, with the central characters giving their all, I would have to say Let It Go reminds me of the song Breaking Free from High School Musical, it has similar musical overtones, creating magic for the audience, Gabriella & Troy make it come alive for fans. Similar to Elsa & Anna. This seems to be missing in a lot of past films. It is good to see the old standards returning.
Escaping the Madhouse: The Nellie Bly Story (2019)
Slow and Boring
I find this film has a very dark look, it is graphic though the plot is very slow in it's delivery, not a film to watch if you are tired as falling asleep would be easy. Lifetime picked a bad script and came up a loser with this story.
A Star Is Born (2018)
Don't give up your day job Gaga
I expected something great from Lady GaGa, I loved her hit songs, but this movie is shocking and extremely slow, not to mention the swearing in it by the lead star. Janet Gaynor would turn in her grave if she saw this film, I believe Barbra Streisand would not be impressed either. If there was a zero score I would have given it without hesitation, it deserves the Golden Turkey Award. Sorry for all the people who watched this classless film. Stick to doing what you do best GaGa singing, acting is not for you dear.
Aquaman (2018)
Great Movie I am Impresses
I am a person who does not like modern mega movies, Si Fi or Fantasy, I cannot fault this movie, it is Iconic compared to Superman Vs Batman, it is a big turn of for me as I loved both characters George Reeves, Christopher Reeve and Of cause Adam West as Batman. Aqua man is a modern Classic movie, giving 10 is for it's high honours as a great wonderful film. I loved the lead actors, thought they were fabulous.
Murder by Numbers (2002)
Slow & Boring
For a main Company Warner Brothers this movie did not deliver anything but boredom, This is definitely a go to sleep movie as you need plenty of coffee to stay stimulated to view this movie. I feel this movie was created to fill in the void schedule, Sandra Bullock was the Ace In the hold to keep viewers interested. She deserves better roles I feel. The rest are relegated as extras. Definitely a a zero but it still scores a 1.
