Some Assembly Required (2014)
To all those who gave this show a negative rating,
The problem with people's terrible summarizations are: well, they say it's terrible and then give no basis for it. As for a kid's sitcom, it's pretty good. Also, an opposition to a laugh track is ridiculous; it's not hurtful... Why are you complaining about it? After you watch and binge enough sitcoms to tune out the laugh track, it's basically not there. Now, to the people who say they are going to put their children up for adoption if they continue to watch the show, and this is a serious comment. Screw you, you are going to burn in hell.
Slasher (2016)
Review for Season One:
Plot(6.2) The plot is generic, and has no originality, providing for a boring, bland experience. The plot doesn't go anywhere, except showing brutal murders, and idiotic drama, that makes no sense, as I've said before.
Music(4.4) The music is lazy, and provides no sense of exploration into the show, and doesn't show any possible emotions that the bored-senseless viewers should be feeling. It doesn't use any actual music, and instead goes for a score, which usually has the worst effect on the viewer. It is also used in places which could have much more of a scare factor, or an emotional factor, if they just left it out, instead it has a dumbed down version, providing for a un-enjoyable watch.
Acting(2.1) The acting is absolutely horrible, so either the actors read the script, and their faith completely dropped, like a Jewish kid when he has to get circumcised, or they tried their best, and instead ended up being an actor from The Room. The acting drops all expressions, and emotions that could be coming out of you, simply because they are soft-cocks who don't have enough guts to spend any precious money.
Humor(1.1) If their ever is any humor, it's idiotic, mind-numbing pop-culture references of which you could find in any recent Dr. Seuss film adaptation. There's nothing else to say, except they try to add little, light-filling drops of whimsical humor, but desperately fails in a pitiful act.
Characters(1.0) The characters are dumb, boring, pieces of work. They are filled with useless drama that decides to go no-where, and kills my mind with the same weapon the killer did. They are either idiotic stereotypes used in many idiotic Films or TV Shows, they are either perfect in every single way, or hateful, spiteful works of Stephen King tropes. The only good character, is the killer, who I'll get into.
Killer(8.2) Though the killer is filled with an idiotic motive, he is still exciting, and action-packed, with many great, gruesome kills, taken from the Catholics(which they say Christians performed, but that is untrue, it was never in the Bible, and they just layer it in there to appease their god, Stephen King.) The kills have a rather uncomfortable vibe to them, with horrifying screeches, that fill your body with dread. His outfit, is just terrifying. A mask, that inspires terror in one's soul, and an outfit that matches his terrifying mask.
2.1/10
Please don't watch this, I'm already on the peak of suicide.
The Umbrella Academy (2019)
The Umbrella Academy, needs to go to a film academy.
Plot(8.2)
The plot is amazing, and fantastically creative, opening up a lot of possible adventures to journey upon, which is criminally underused sometimes, but beautifully accessed in other times. The story gets out of hand after a while, and gets a little ridiculous, lurching into a Sci-Fi fantasy, that goes out of reach of common sense, and becomes jumbled up in a large amount of sub-plots confusing the on-looking, ordinary viewer. The stuff with the kids is eccentrically great, and gives a fantastical look into the world, with a bright, whimsical, but at the same time, wretchedly dark tone in the day-to-day lives of the seven kids. But with the adults, it's mediocre, at best. The adults have a grim portrayal of a world that could have been used a lot more! And it tells in idiotic frenzy of a story, taking you out of the immersive experience of The Umbrella Academy.
Music(7.9)
The music is great, as long as it is previously created, and licensed music that was not specially created as background music(i.e. the soundtrack). The music is beautiful, providing the emotions that need to be felt in that scene, when it's being whimsical, it doesn't sham whimsical down your throat like they made Mary Poppins another time, and when it's trying to portray sad, and dark, it perfectly portrays it, with great music, made by great artists. But the soundtrack, is plain and boring, and doesn't spend any time trying to invest it's viewers, and add to, what should be, an immersive experience going on.
Acting(8.1)
The kid's and their acting is fantastic, and drags you into their fantasy world, making you feel like it's filled with real people, who have real feelings, and are not just reading out lines from a manuscript, it's absolutely astonishing! But, the adults, are, good... at best.. They seem like people just acting, and don't portray the perfect drama, comedy, etc. that they should be doing, and matching the kids, as veteran actors. Which is slightly shameful on the actors part.
Action(9.2)
The action is fun, and provides a great deal of whimsical goodness, with all the powers that the characters have in Umbrella Academy, unlike a lot of other things in the show, they are definitely not criminally underused! With flips and insane gymnastics everywhere from the characters, it's incredibly action-packed and fulfilling .
Humour(9.1)
The comedy in Umbrella Academy, is not hilarious, which I don't think it's trying to be, but gets a few chuckles out of the viewer, and it's not comedy sticking in your face, but it's little quips thrown out here and there, providing for some great banter. One of my favorite scenes showing this is in the first scene which the kids are in, the one where they stop a bank robbery, it's like Dick Grayson(Robin #1) got cloned and had a bunch of him running around like the Mighty Morpin' Power Ranger's.
Characters(7.8)
The characters are filled with drama that makes no actual sense, and different views that provide no back-up. These characters are filled to the brim with emotion, and have little to no personality shown, most of the time, though they do have their fair share of (ranging from) good to brilliant moments that keep you going, and refreshed. But the real thing that keeps you going and refreshed, and immersed in a fantastical world, is Number 5, or also known as, Five. He is the perfect character, he's funny, with hilarious quips, of which I was talking about earlier, a bleak sense on life, showing how much of a terrible place the sick, cold world can be, and an also optimistic and positive approach, believing that he can do anything, in a more then arrogant sort of way.
7.8/10
Doctor Who (2005)
I will give this a 10/10 every "TIME".
Doctor Who is a beautiful revival of a past show started in 1963. It revives the show in a modern-era, while updating it with little patches every now and again to continue keeping relevant.
Doctor Who has either brilliant historical events, or places shown to us in front of our very eyes, astonishing us and educating those who don't know about this certain time yet, or a wacky, but still great sci-fi adventure as The Doctor speaks unhearable techno-babble.
Doctor Who also has awesome and relatable characters who give us a humanity to an other-wise cruel and dark world. Some of the characters include, though not limited to: Rose Tyler, Amy Pond, Clara Oswald, The 10th Doctor, The 11th Doctor, Rory Pond, and River Song.
Every week we get fantastical villains that throw us into their either, miserable minds or insane heads and gives us another point of view other then total humanitarian, complete moral high-ground. The villains are unique, and prove a great much to the cunning and clever Doctor and test him, making him perform at his very best.
