It Chapter Two (2019)
Hated it.
Just like many films that follow up with parts 2, 3, 4 and 5. This one fails at chapter two. It didn't have the same strength and original feeling as the first one did. I was bored midway into it. I'm kinda disappointed. Two thumbs down.
Ad Astra (2019)
Meh.
Not my cup of green tea. Personally, a waste of my previous time. A no go for me. See ya!
Overcomer (2019)
No Spoilers here.
I'm not going to gibe anything away here. No spoilers, hints or direct praise to this film. All I will say, is that it is truly a must watch movie. You will not regret it. Definitely three thumbs for me (if I had an extra thumb).
Angel Has Fallen (2019)
Gerard still has the juice.
Where has Gerard Butler been? He's a great actor and wish to see him more on screen. His performance in Angel has Fallen was stellar and proves that he still has the juice as one if the top actors in the business. The story/plot was great, the beat and overall pace was smooth and the action sequences were effing awesome! I'll be watching this one again, for sure. Two thumbs up! Keep them coming Mr. Butler. We miss you!
Joker (2019)
Loved it.
It was well done, no doubt about it and Joaquin Phoenix does a fantastic job with his performance in Joker. What really grabbed me was the cinematography, it was visually spectacular! I loved the style. It felt like it was filmed in the 70's on 35mm when films had that "look". I really enjoyed watching it on the big screen. It was a treat of eye candy.
Delivered (2011)
Two stars
And that's only because I liked the poster design. The movie itself was incredibly confusing to watch. Okay, so you've acted in a few films, let's say, and you later in your career say to yourself, I want to make an actual movie AND act in it too! So you get your "act" together and actually make the film... And guess what? It's a doozy. Total lemon pie with no sugar. I felt it had no creative taste to it at all. Why make this film, why? Ugh... Where are the real indie films with real talent these days? Pass on this as fast as you can or you'll regret spending an hour of your life wasted for no reason. Just go for a walk or spend time with your kids, family. Or order in some Chinese food and have it "delivered". ;)
A Slice of Life on Barcelona (2015)
These reviews are clearly bias!
This has got to be the worst indie film that I have seen ever. The entire quality of the story plot, sound quality, filming, the actors (except the pregnant girl) with bad English accents is just pure manure. The only thing that was authentic in terms of originality is the location which happens to take place in Barcelona, Spain. That's it! The rest is a dud. No spark.
The dialogue is insanely bad and makes no sense. Oh yeah, it's mostly in Spanish (which i do understand) and some English here and there. But the dialogue in Spanish is soo bad, like, who really wrote this script or came up with it?... And why? There might be one or two parts in the story that could pass as good writing but the rest is... Uh... Dumb as heck!
The cinematography is "OK" and reminds me of a newbie student thesis short film extended into a feature with no budget at all, just friends or family holding up the mic boom, trying to get good sound and failing at it. Annoying.
I watched it once and will never watch it again. Buh, bye.
