Biz Kimden Kaçiyorduk Anne? (2023)
Waste of time
I love foreign shows. I don't mind subtitles and I really like to watch anything coming from other countries. I had high hopes for this show and started watching it and really wondering where it was going. The mom act is terrible and the daughter is even worse, I mean how dull can a child be? No kid acts like that to be honest. But I kept watching. I was 5 episodes in and I had to give up cause it's just so pointless and repetitive I can't understand what this show is about. How come there's so many great reviews??? Like it's pathetic and I'm not even a great critic but this felt like a total waste of time. Dialogues seemed forced, kid looked pathetic all around and mom just killing people just because...it's ridiculous.
Lel Maout (2021)
Too slow
Honestly I watched season 1 and was so attracted to the love story that I wanted to know morre and more and when season 2 came out I has high expectations. It's just way too slow. I don't even know why they're making a season 3 cause it's plain boring in the end. Too slow, too predictable and the romance was totally lost making it a complete waste of time. You never really get any answers and it's just keeps piling. After 60 episodes you still don't see Wejdan and Hady together, so if you're here for the romance just save your precious time.
I can't believe I spent so much time watching it. I just scrolled through some of the episodes because there's so much music scenes and smoking scenes and it's always someone called someone who called someone. Ends up being a complete waste of time.
Conversations with Friends (2022)
Really enjoyed it
I understand why some people say the show is too slow but, in my opinion this is pure art and develops at such an interesting pace. They portrayed it so beautifully that when I finished it I wanted more. I loved it. I think was beautifully done and such an interesting romance.
Donde caben dos (2021)
One thing made it off for me
I love European movies because there's usually no taboos. I was pretty excited about this one, it's sex and that's it...it's just a movie to have fun and relax and enjoy with your partner. However one thing on the movie completely turned me off: the cousins. Cmon...that's a bit excessive. No matter how open minded you are that just felt very awkward like incest type of thing. Could be a 10 if it weren't for that.
Pera Palas'ta Gece Yarisi (2022)
I tried
This show had everything I love so I really tried to stick to it, however quickly turned boring and dragging. There's so many great reviews but I couldn't keep up. I watched 5 episodes and yet I felt like serious mystery was lacking and compelling story. I gave up.
Good Luck to You, Leo Grande (2022)
So good
I'm so glad I watched this movie. Such a great movie. Loved the message behind it and definitely recommend it. So many women never experienced an orgasm and this is such a remarkable movie to tell you that it's ok to seek that pleasure no matter how old you are.
Normal People (2020)
I don't know what took me so long
I'm not sure why it took me so long to watch this show. I absolutely loved it. It's so touching and yeah...just normal people indeed. For me this was perfection.
I Am Georgina (2022)
I was impressed to learn about her
I loved it. I learned a lot about her and respect her in a big way. For those people who say this is nothing and she's nothing...who's Kim Kardashian for example? I didn't know a thing about Georgina, except that she's Cristiano's partner but honestly I am so proud of this show. I am Portuguese so obviously I was very happy to see how humble she is and from where she came from! She deserves where she is and they both deserve everything they have because they worked for it. Famous people who worked for it are my favorite kind and honestly I love that she's such a great mother and makes time for charities. That's making good use of her money. Just stop playing lottery cause we poor people need it better than you haahahaha.
A Castle for Christmas (2021)
Everything you want for a Christmas movie
This is it! This is everything you could possibly wish in a Christmas movie. I loved it. Don't understand the bad ratings. I smiled and almost cried. Absolutely loved it.
Christmas Flow (2021)
Can't understand the bad ratings
Honestly I can't understand the bad ratings. I absolutely loved this show. Everything you can ask for mornings during Christmas season to watch cozy while sipping tea. I loved it.
Love Hard (2021)
The perfect Christmas movie
What else can you ask for to watch on a cozy night within the Christmas spirit? Loved it. Yes some people will say the story is predictable but it's just so so so good. Made me laugh and even almost cry.
Glória (2021)
I am so proud of my country
This is a big deal!!! A very big deal!!!! First of all, I might be a little biased since I'm a Portuguese girl watching this is America. I've been craving Portuguese shows or movies since it's so hard to get them in here. When I heard about this I had to watch. I love spy movies so maybe that's why but honestly I think the story it's so well written, the mystery, the soundtrack, the history...there's nothing bad about this. I'm on my 3rd episode now and I cannot believe the bad reviews!!! This show is better than many many shows out there!! I am SO PROUD that my country had this out there for the world to watch!! We need more of this! Such talent!!! I absolutely love it! You need to watch it! If you don't enjoy spy movies then don't even bother, but you should watch it! I love how everything is constructed and I'm honestly very impressed my people came up with something this good!!!
The Starling (2021)
You're gonna need tissues.
Just finished this. Cried my eyes out and absolutely loved it. Such a touching movie.
Clickbait (2021)
Awesome show
Honestly I loved this show. I miss shows like these who keep you on your toes not wanting it to stop. I thought I knew who it was all the way until episode 7 and I'm so glad I was wrong. I just think the actress who played Sophie could have done a better job, apart from that the show was amazing!!!!
El vecino (2019)
Seriously funny
Oh man what a great show!!! My husband hates subtitles and even he loved this!!! So funny!!! Definitely a must watch if you want a great time.
Variações (2019)
Promising movie...lacked something
Growing up I listened to
variações music all the time. I knew at the time he passed away and that was it. So when I saw this trailer I was curious to found out more about him. The movie seems pretty cool but I wish we had more content. They show him when he was young...but then I wish I knew more about it. Why did he emigrated? What happened? Also why did he die? I mean we know but I wish there was more explanation. I look at this movie like art...but at the same time I feel I needed more. It's a good watch if you know the songs it's just I feel like I still don't know much about him.
Bombay Begums (2021)
Such high expectations
Honestly I had high expectations for this show. I love Indian shows and, sometimes they're quite slow but I always find them interesting. I think this show was a bit of a disappointment. It tries to touch on important subjects but fails to deliver. It feels like a little all over the place and you try to understand where the story is leading them and at the end it's really disappointing and makes no sense. The last episode touched me in a way...being a woman it's obviously easy to bring a tear...but then also makes me wonder: why was Fatima cheating on the husband? There was so much to explore there and they did nothing really. I felt like it was all over the place and it could have been so much better and detailed...and at the end it felt rushed and pointless. Trying to raise awareness for deep subjects doesn't mean throw them all in the mix and pretend "we're highlighting this"!
Felt like a waste of time. And it's rare for me to say this.
Searching (2018)
Wow!!!
I don't know why this movie isn't more famous. This is one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. GO WATCH IT!
Sarangeui bulsachak (2019)
Do not understand the hype
My friends keep talking about this and after seeing such good ratings I decided to try. Honestly I still gave it the time until episode 5. My god this show is boring. Like the episodes are wayyyy too long and dull.
I love romantic stories but if this is what it's about then it's just plain boring.
Do not understand the hype.
Godmothered (2020)
Perfect family movie
It's been a while since we had good family movies...I really loved this one. Such a breath of fresh air. It's cheesy but it's perfect in all the right places.
Immigration Nation (2020)
So hard
It's hard to watch. It's raw. It's painful. But it's something people have to watch and understand what's happening. It's heartbreaking. I give it a 10, because I believe it's a must watch so people understand what's happening. For those saying it's anti Trump propaganda: my god I have no words for you. May you be more humane and never have to go through these type of cruelty!
Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga (2020)
If you grew up with Eurovision this is for you
Omg I can't describe how much I laughed throughout this movie. Is so spot on. As a Portuguese girl I grew up watching the Eurovision. The irony...I moved to America in 2014 and only in 2017 Portugal won the contest. I was so damn proud. This is the show I grew up with. There's no way you can't love this movie if you watched Eurovision. Is so much fun. And the songs are so cool. I absolutely love the way they included Eurovision song artists like Bilal Hassani, Conchita and our Salvador. Mannnnn this movie is a gem. I want to show it to my kids one day and let them know this is how Europeans come together through music. Ten stars.
After Life (2019)
Season 2 is even better than the first
Honestly season 2 for me was even better than the first one. Honestly it is heartbreaking at times, I couldn't stop crying almost in every episode, but it's also so funny and sarcastic at times...that's a genius show. As someone who loves her husband, I can't even imagine what something like this would feel in real life (maybe that's the reason for so much crying on my part).
Such a great show.
Regular Heroes (2020)
Absolutely love it
I read the only review there is for the show and criticizes the fact they're just promoting celebrities. Honestly I disagree. The celebrity part of it it's just so temporary and minuscule that doesn't impact the show I believe. Unfortunately in the society we live nowadays, people don't watch something unless there's either some controversy involved or someone famous. I believe the small part where celebrities show up it's just to promote and make people watch it. Honestly I found out about the show through Nick Jonas Instagram and that's why I decided to watch it and I'm so glad I did. So many people are doing tremendous on the frontline and this goes to show the importance of those people. I don't want to spoil anything for you so I ain't gonna give anything away...I just loved everything about this show. It's touching. It's raw. It shows where we're at in this pandemic and it's so important to acknowledge these people. Of course it's a tiny tiny tiny percentage but hey...it's doing something. It's showing what's happening. I honestly couldn't love it more. It's so i inspiring. Yes there's celebrities. For me I watched it for the people. Not for the celebrities. You should watch it if you're someone with a kind heart that believes in humanity. If not...then don't waste your time.
The Affair (2014)
Loved it...until I didn't anymore
I remember wanting to watch the affair since it started but I couldn't find it in any platform in my country. I finally had the chance to watch it and honestly I absolutely loved season 1&2. Not sure what they were trying to attempt on season 3. I still watched 9 episodes hoping for it to get better...I kept thinking "I bet Noah is having hallucinations" and it just confirmed on episode 9. I just gave up. Honestly it started a 10 out of 10 but lost the magic on season 3. I don't even want to know anymore what's gonna happen. I gave up.
