Real Rob (2015)
Bad wannabe Curb
Curb was good because the characters were at least likeable, and he wasn't putting his real wife into bizarre objectifying situations. Rob is a terrible guy, and he can't help injecting his insane ideas and views into his "work", which makes it all the worse. Never met someone past 2010 who thinks he's funny, and I can definitely see why. He clearly wanted to make his own Curb your enthusiasm but just couldn't cut it, as evidenced by the cancellation after just one season. Frankly, I don't even know how the first season got made.
Why is this show so washed out and blue? Why is it so poorly produced on top of already poorly written? Truly, this show has nothing good going for it.
The Muppets (2011)
Sex richman
Even just for the Tex Richman song bit, this movie is soooooo much fun to watch. It's a genuinely great homage to the Muppets' legacy and even for children (or adults) who aren't familiar this is just a great time of a watch. A fairly simplistic storyline we've definitely seen before, and some missed opportunities on the camera end of things, but those are made up for by the richness of the characters and how engaging and believable this world is. Tropes are used intentionally in a way that adds fun but manages to avoid raising questions of cartoon logic and "why didn't they just do that before?" type instances. Love the film.
Defunctland: Disney Channel's Theme: A History Mystery (2022)
A real documentary
Not just a youtube video created by a youtuber or a content creator, but a real documentary created by a real documentarian and filmmaker. Addressing the struggles of recognition in artistry and the stigma associated with self publishing, while brilliantly tying that into the main subject of Alex Lassarenko, the finally credited creator of the four note Disney channel mnemonic ID.
This is more than worth a watch, incredibly engaging and if you consider yourself an artist in any respect this will speak to you deeply.
All people involved in creating something, however "important" that thing is, deserve recognition for their work. What a monumental achievement it truly is to be remembered for not one note, but four.
