Bellbottoms to Boogie Shoes: The 70's (2001)
A nice "capsule" overview of the Seventies
Interviews (seem to be new, or at least when this was produced- 2001) with people as varied as Tom Laughlin ("Billy Jack") to Cheryl Tiegs & Dr. Demento, this Documentary tries to encapsulate in 88 minutes what the 70's was. A nice, shorthand overview of the music, fashion, films & TV & events that made up the polyester decade. Good clips of the various events discussed; varying quality (naturally)...
Saw this on the "Goodtimes Entertainment" DVD; produced by "Sofa Home Entertainment" label. One word of caution- the case lists the running time of "Approx. 120 Min." but that's incorrect; the whole Documentary runs just slightly under 90 minutes
Double Trouble (2011)
A sexy and intimate "visit" with Kylee
I have to say that the DVD exceeded any expectations that I had- an incredibly sexy portrayal of someone who's obviously enthusiastic & very sexual. It doesn't take to long into this to see how much fun she seems to be having and that comes across in the many different appearances included on this disc. Shot in a very straight-forward style & directed with a simplistic but stylized eye, it's very easy to recommend to not only those fans of Kylee, but anyone who likes hotter action with solo performers- overall a very smart & sexy release.
I hope that this line becomes a series... I'll certainly be looking forward to any future DVDs from this film-making couple
American Scary (2006)
An absolutely LOVING tribute...
Not a lot of documentaries shot on a shoestring like this one is convey the love and admirations the filmmakers of "American Scary" do for their overview of local horror hosts. The unpolished nature of this film actually adds to the overall message- that the horror movie host was something from another time and is (with few exceptions) sorely missed. Interviews with the people that brought these characters to life as well as people who were influenced by them are slices of time that make us lucky they've been captured on tape; too many people (Forry Ackerman; Vampira; Bob Wilkins plus quite a few more) have died since being interviewed for this piece which is a pity. Thank God these people are on here to share their thoughts. A small film with a giant heart- buy it or rent it, but SEE IT!
