Devil's Workshop (2022)

It was good until it wasn't.

The first 2/3 of the movie I was following along and the plot was interesting. The characters were getting fleshed out and we get a backstory for the main actor and the demonologist. This was a great set up as the story kept going and you're trying to figure out where is everything going in the end. The acting, sound, lighting etc was on point and I do like the locations that they used.

However, there was very little mention of devils and demonology. There was some mention here and there but I thought okay the man is trying to get ready for his role what can he gain lore wise from the demonologist. This is why the ending failed for me since it just ends flat and doesn't answer the question on why the main actor was there for. I like closures in my movies and this one didn't really have one.

Behemoth (2021)

Fun watch.

Indie movie with all the right tropes to keep you interested throughout the whole film. The way everything gets weaved together for the finale was really interesting. Given you can tell where the movie was headed but it was still fun to see it happen. Even if some of the scenes don't play out the way you thought it would go. However, the actors did their jobs and they were believable. I wish they make a sequel with the daughter as the main character. It would be interesting to see the sins of the father affecting his child. Given the movie premise about big pharma and how they're poisoning the world didn't fall on deaf ears.

The Red Book Ritual (2022)

Don't waste your time.

This movie at first reminded me of another with the same premise but way better than this movie. The stories presented in this one weren't related in anyway. Heck they didn't make sense unless I'm missing something. Only story I liked was the nurse one and that's about it. There's some nudity in the first story but nothing "sexy" at all. I feel like I wasted my time watching this movie. I was not impressed with this movie at all. Cheap, no point, ending was terrible. Plus it was just painful to sit through this pathetic attempt at horror. To top it off it was another bad anthology with poor story lines.

Meander (2020)

pretty good psychological horror

The crawling through the tubes is somewhat of a journey or transformation for the main character. It felt like Dante's inferno theme through out the movie. The ending was open ended but I'm leaning towards a good ending for the character.

American Cannibal (2018 TV Movie)

Not much horror for a horror movie.

The story was fine and the villain was interesting. Given there were too many chances he gave the girls during the movie. A true villain would of ended it right away instead of making conversation. Other than that, the dialogue was believable for the most part and it felt like the girls were true friends.

A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010)

It was a decent movie.

The story was pretty easy to follow and the action was pretty good. I will give credit to the new Freddy since he did a good job but in no way can replace Robert Englund. This is why I give it a 5/10 because it hits all the parts of the story. However, it's hard to live to the original one.

Astral (III) (2018)

It had no ending.

You know those movies that kind of ramble on, never quite developing the story, and then it seems like the writers gave up and it ends with no point and no resolution? This is that movie, terrible. I expected something at the end a big finale or something. We got nothing at all which makes the whole movie pointless.

Sick Nurses (2007)

Not your typical Horror film

Pretty nurses doing bad things and paying for it tale. One layer down, though, this is a story of a bisexual relationship gone wrong, where one partner either does or wants to transition and the other rejects the very notion. They must of spent a ton on the blood in this movie since there's so much of it. The ending puts it all together.

The movie itself was pretty good and you can easily follow it. The characters were loveable and you can stand behind them. Given some of their decisions wasn't the wisest but it still made the story move along. What I don't understand is the ending. You ended up with a big what the hell is going on face at the end.

She Never Died (2019)

If they would of given the lead actor like a hell of a lot more lines then the grunts she did. I would of given this movie a higher score. The plot was simple enough to follow and the action was okay. I just really wish she had more dialogue and if the guy from He Never Died would of showed up that would of done it for me.

FLESH (2021)

Not bad for an indie film.

The film itself wasn't bad if you turned off your brain and just watched it. However, the acting could of been better and the special affects needed a little bit more touch. Since it was an indie film I'll give them some slack. I would suggest next movie they flesh out the story a bit more.

Ten Minutes to Midnight (2020)

This was not your typical vampire film. The intermittent surreal atmosphere gave me cause for confusion, hence I don't know if I like it or not because I simply did not understand what was happening. The scenes kept changing and this whole time I'm looking at my watch thinking when is this dumpster fire going to end. I understood this was more a psychological horror instead of physical horror. Still if the direction was better I might of enjoyed it more.

Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant (2009)

Not bad.

I read all the books when they came out a long time ago and loved them all except the last book. I hated the last book so much that I almost didn't watch this movie. However, they did change the story a bit in the movie and some of the characters had their gender reversed. All in all the movie wasn't bad and I wish the acting could of been better by Chris Massoglia. He didn't strike me as the character Darren. Otherwise, the action wasn't bad and a bit sad they didn't make movies covering the rest of the books minus the last one;)

Beyond the Black Rainbow (2010)

Fell asleep 58 minutes into the movie.

It takes a very special type of movie to even cure my insomnia and this movie did it. I tried to stay awake and even put the pieces together of what's going on. But this movie is so dam slow that I passed out. When I awoke I figured let me fast forward the rest to see if there's anything interesting. There wasn't and this movie didn't do it for me. Don't get me wrong, I do like "artsy" movies but this one was not it at all.

The 100 Candles Game (2020)

This was a cool movie to watch with friends.

Some of the stories were a hit and miss but the ones that were a hit were really good. Given you could figure out the ending as the game goes on. However, knowing the ending and seeing it play out is two different things. I wish they make a part 2 just to have more short horror stories. Sadly it wouldn't work with the lore.

The Theatre of Terror (2019)

Good indie horror flick.

Found this film on TubiTV and was pleased with the movie. There's 4 stories overall, 5 if you include the girl at the start of the movie. All of the stories were interesting and had a spin to them. Only one I didn't like much was, "The abduction" story. It was a bit predictable but the protagonist had a cute dog so I watched the whole thing. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good movie.

Odd Thomas (2013)

Great movie.

The acting was solid and the movie was good. I found out this was a book adaptation and now I want to pick up the other 6 books to see how it all ends in the series. The CGI monsters looked believable and the protagonist reminds me a lot of Harry Dresden from the Dresden Files series. Always willing to do what's best for humanity but at the same time getting beat up in the process.

Apartment 143 (2011)

A family besieged by paranormal activity gets help from a professional paranormal team. This movie is full of action from beginning to end. I liked the paranormal teams use of science staying reasonably unflappable despite the constant activity. An intelligent movie of the paranormal and psychological that will have you on edge the entire time. One of the best I've seen of this genre.

Last Shift (I) (2014)

Scary,jumpy and unpredictable

Kept telling myself I've seen this movie a couple of times and sure enough I did. However, the movie is still scary, jumpy and unpredictable. Which still made the movie enjoyable a 2nd time through. Would recommend for others to watch it.

Lilin's Brood (2016)

The premise was easy to follow but I wish they would of given more information on the organization they work for. The acting wasn't horrible and believable at times. Do wish they would of explained the ending a little bit more. I got my theory on what happened but still a little bit more clarity would of been best. Given that brothel is not a place you would like to be caught in the middle of the night, lol. Would recommend this movie since it was decent.

Dead Voices (2020)

First half was great but went to hell after that.

Movie is a documentary regarding mediums and the ex-girlfriend trying to find out what happened to her ex. I wish they would of used Lochlyn Munro more since he's such great actor. The girls were okay but got annoying half way in the movie. They could of had a gem if they went a different direction after they met the second "medium". Sadly afterwards, it took all I had to finish the movie. I don't recommend this movie I suffered so that you don't.

Ghost Team One (2013)

I got only 18 minutes into the film before my braincells started to give out on me. For the sake of your sanity don't watch this dribble. It's marked as Horror in Amazon but it should be comedy the crappy kind. I normally stick it through to the end in every movie I see but this movie I couldn't.

Gehenna: Where Death Lives (2016)

Pretty good watch.

The movie is predictable once you start paying attention. So make sure you turn off your brain and just enjoy the movie for what it is. There's 2 after credits at the end of the movie. The actors played their role respectively and were believable. I did enjoy the ending of this movie. Must watch and would recommend to any horror fan.

They Reach (2020)

Fun watch horror movie.

The kids in the movie had a lot of fun interactions between each other. I can almost believe they were real life friends which made the movie for me. There's a lot of jump scares through out the movie. Didn't like the ending much and wish it would of been darker. The way the item they needed appeared out of no where sucked for me. Otherwise, story wise it was pretty good.

Beneath (2006)

Good movie keeps you guessing.

The movie was a fun watch and it felt more like a mystery/thriller rather than horror. You try to put the pieces together to figure out what's going on and all is revealed at the end.
