Wah-Wah (2005)

A most excellent film that has jumped to the top of my list!

Wah-Wah is a beautiful film! One that i saw just yesterday and have had in my head since and wanted it to stay in there. I have recommended it to everyone i have seen since then, and still find myself commenting on it most randomly.

Wah-Wah is a sad film, and i believe i have cried more tears in this movie more than any other. I had tears running down my neck. I am not generally fond of sad movies but i found this one so different! Besides it is not all sad, I was also even crying with happiness. And laughing too! The only thing that i am disappointed about is that Wah-Wah is not being shown at every cinema, and only very few. I live in Victoria, Aust. And suggest you check out the capital city of your state to see it. I found it definitely worth while! But what i thought was rather curious was that EVERYONE stayed in there seats until the whole of the credits had been run and the curtains starting to close. There was not particularly anything interesting with the actual credits, but it felt appropriate! Richard E. Grant has been one of my two favorite actors for a long time! And this movie he has written and produced, about his life, just adds to my admiration of him. A job well done indeed, and WELL worth seeing!

Pride & Prejudice (2005)

Not as good as the BBC version!

Altogether i didn't really like it.

I was very disappointed with this version of the pride and the prejudice! To begin with, it was a bit difficult to understand, i had to keep explaining what they were saying and meaning to my friend.

The dresses were a mixture of tow different era's so didn't really match the story, which is set in the regency era or early 1800's not the late 1700's! And one of the dresses, the one that Bingley's sister wears to the ball looks like it's just come of a modern runway, in the 21st century. Very disappointing! Even if it is a nice looking dress.

Also in the BBC version, there is a difference between the decor of the houses of Mr. Darcy and Lady Catherine De Bourgh, which shows an important difference of character. But when in comes to this version - one is just as tacky and show-offish as the other.

Also what happened to Mr. Bingleys other sister? This film is missing very many things that would make it better! There a few good points however, and i do think it is worth seeing just so we can be nasty to it when comparing it to the BBC version.

Cecilia & Bryn at Glyndebourne (1999 TV Special)

Too Good for words!

I have had trouble putting into words the singing of Bryn and Cecilia! Recently i have been unwell with chronic fatigue and at 14 yrs old have missed much of school and lost many of the things i have known over my life, especially good relationships with friends. But one thing i have discovered and has helped my to stay positive has been the singing of Bryn Terfel! He puts such energy into his singing and as Gyran says becomes the character, I have noticed this happens even more when he sings with Cecilia! They tend to inspire each other to be the best that they can.

I will pick up anything that has Bryn Terfel in it, and this is definitely no exception! A Fantastic piece that has amongst other works of Bryn, Ispired me to live!

The House of Eliott (1991–1994)

One of My favorites!

A show that i have fallen in love with! The clothes are gorgeous, the characters are gorgeous and the storyline just grabs you in! I have a love for historical fashion, and this film has added the 1920's to my favorite era list.

Set in the 1920's in England, The House of Eliott is about the two Eliott sisters, who set up their own fashion house after there father dies. But it is not all easy, and trying to manage their new social life as well as start up a new business proves difficult. Will The House of Elliot survive the fashion industry?

An absolute favorite i would recommend to anyone! Especially if you have a love for history or fashion.

To Be and to Have (2002)

Beautiful!

A Beautiful film, showing the beauty of France in a way that wants you to go and visit (or live) there.

I hear many bad things about the french, but i believe that they have not understood the certain rules that the french live by. The french are not cold people, but rather lovely, you just need to take the time and effort to get to know them, but once you do, the french are the most loyal people you can have as friends! This films is simply adorable, even if it is a documentary, it is not boring but rather entertaining, I wish i went to such a school! Perfect if you wish to learn french, and i think that it portrays the country french people well.
