Peacemaker (2022)
More Peacemaker!
Peacemaker is one of the best superhero shows I've ever seen. Action, comedy, and heart. It has it all. The cast is great. The story is great. The dialogue... great. John Cena has found his calling as a comedic actor.
Eternals (2021)
Not good
This movie is not good. Even for a filler MCU movie. I think the main problems were pacing and editing. This probably would've been better served as 6, 30 minute episodes on Disney+. The plot was fairly wack, but 30 minutes a pop, with fast pacing and action, might've done it Justice.
Wu-Tang: An American Saga (2019)
Excellent Show
This show is great. Excellent insight into the group's formation and struggles. Well scripted, acted, and shot.
The Haunting of Bly Manor (2020)
Not gonna lie, it's pretty bad (NO SPOILERS)
The Haunting of Hill House was an amazing show. I was very happy to hear it was renewed. My enthusiasm waned when I heard it was now an anthology series, but then had a slight uptick when I saw the cast returned. Well, that roller coaster of emotion towards the prospect of season two didn't last long, as we quickly drop off the first major decline and our excitement is met with a straight track, and the occasional bump. The show is slow and boring. You cannot argue that it's unevenly paced. It's slow throughout. Like painfully slow, not suspenseful slow. There were some good elements, but the story overall is quite boring. A definite failure when compared to the first season. I will say, my wife seemed to enjoy it, and was able to compartmentalize the former from the latter. I was not as fortunate. I was ready to bail by episode 3, but stuck with it, as this was "our" show at the moment. By episode 9 I was screaming inside, begging for the torture to end. You can imagine my excitement when I found out episode 9 was the last episode. 9 episodes? There wasn't enough story to fill 10, that's for sure. They stretched it for 9. If the show was faster paced, they'd have it settled in 4. If this were a movie, you'd glance at your watch at the 90 minute mark and wonder how much longer it'll be until you can pee.
Schitt$ Creek (2015)
Terribly Unfunny
This show is terribly unfunny. I saw one user write that they haven't made it through a single episode without laughing. I didn't laugh during a single episode. After six or eight episodes I started to question what was wrong with me. Am I insane? Am I some kind of masochist? I had to stop inflicting self harm. I stopped watching and never looked back. Eugene Levy and Catherine O'Hara are two of the funniest people I've ever witnessed on film. Are they only doing this for the sake of Eugene's son? It's a shame that this show has tainted my memory of these two.
