Akbar's Adventure Tours (1998)
Not worth it
Akbar is no longer at Busch Gardens Tampa, and that's a good thing, because it really was not worth the wait. Martin Short was funny, but it really was a shame that at one point in his career, such a funny man was stuck doing the movie for a motion simulator ride at a theme park. The ride wasn't fantastic, and with Montu (giant inverted Bolliger & Mabillard roller coaster) right next to it, I would have rather ridden Montu twice than Montu once and Akbar once. If you didn't get to go on this ride, don't worry about it. Travel over to Islands of Adventure, which isn't too far away, or Universal Studios, and ride Spiderman or Back To The Future: The Ride, for GOOD simulators. Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, Virginia, just got a fantastic new simulator, Corkscrew Hill, so maybe Busch Gardens Tampa will follow in its footstep and get something to replace poor old Akbar.
Fight Club (1999)
Brilliant.
Fight Club is the most brilliant movie I have ever laid my eyes upon. Every little detail that the audience sees ends up meaning something later on. The first time through was great because of the awesome ending, and each additional time I watched it was even greater because I started noticing all the little things that lead up to the big thing in the end. What a great film!
Two Girls and a Guy (1997)
ehhhh
This wasn't the worst thing I've ever seen, but nowhere near the best. It was actually pretty boring, and the ending left me sitting with my jaw open, not in amazement, but disbelief of how many questions were left unanswered. If you're at home and it's on TV and there is NOTHING else on TV, watch this. Otherwise, don't spend your money or your time.
Primetime Glick (2001)
Martin Short Is Insanely Funny!
It is impossible to believe that one man can be so funny. However, Martin Short really pulls through with this hilarious television series. His character, Jiminy Glick, an extremely overweight Hollywood interviewer, is played brilliantly. The voice he uses can make someone laugh even if he hasn't said anything funny. The interview with Ben Stiller was fantastic.
Half Baked (1998)
See it just for Bob Saget's cameo!
Half Baked is hilarious. Three stoned friends become "fund-raisers" when they decide to sell weed to get a friend out of jail. Every part of the movie will make you roll on the floor laughing, pounding your bleeding fists onto the carpet. See it just for Bob Saget's and Willie Nelson's cameos.
Braveheart (1995)
Amazing, emotional film
Braveheart is the best movie ever created. In fact, it is more than a movie. It is an amazing portrayal of Scotland's hero, William Wallace. I first saw Braveheart when it came out in theatres in 1995, when I was thirteen years old. From that time to this day, I have watched it countless times. Maybe it is the heart-pounding medieval war scenes. Maybe it was the emotional bond between Wallace and the love of his life, Murron. Maybe it was the strong sense of revenge that was felt throughout the entire three hours, or the sensational views of Scotland and recreations of some of history's forgotten battles, or the display of ancient lifestyles, or Gibson's outstanding directing, or a combination of all these factors. It's funny to think that in 1995, Braveheart and Babe were in the same category for Best Picture.
