3 Body Problem (2024)

Lacking energy

From the team that bought you GOT, but this was in my opinion a fail.

Sure some GOT cast make appearances, but they can't save this slow burn and lack of energy this series brings.

There is nothing really making you want to come back and watch each episode, no cliff hanger or ohh what's going to happen moment.

It's slow burn with little to no real answers 4 episodes in. The time chopping get annoying and yet also doesn't help answer any solid questions. It's lacking story and plot and over arching theme, much like the back end of GOT, just lacking solid story telling that keeps the watcher engaged.

Is disappointing as I wanted to enjoy this and buy into it, but I can't it's missing that GOT buy in that something extra.

Matt Rife: Natural Selection (2023 TV Special)

Didn't work well

Man this is disappointing as he is usually brilliant. This crowd was clearly too big or his jokes were well off.

His material didn't land from the start. I feel he needs those smaller venues where he can bounce off the audience more and get their involvement as this crowd was cold as ice.

Really quite sad perhaps better crafted material and narrative and his jokes would have landed. It just lack his usual creativity and in the end i couldn't finding watching as it was a ship wreck hitting a land with no saving the bad start. Def not Netflix worthy. Not sure if they had filmed multiple shows and this was the best, if so he needs to stay at small clubs.

NCIS: Sydney (2023– )

This show is terrible, over the top Aussie acting trying to be something it's not.

Todd is terrible as the lead trying way too hard to be the next Hemsworth. Sorry but he needs more acting skills as he comes off overplaying the role that or he has had terrible writing. His weapons skills are bad and he's not "action man" The mix of Aussie and American accents is bad.

It's just bad overall It's no NCIS just a poor attempt to cash in on 10s deal with an American media parent Avoid this with a wide and I mean wide birth it's horrible in all aspects and shows you need good actors and good writing to launch a good product more with a spin off.

Evil Dead Rise (2023)

Gore and blood fest

Haven't seen the original so can only assume they are cult classics, this is just bad on so many levels.

Bad writing, over the top gore and blood for no reason.

The demonic/possession concept alone would have carried this just fine.

The cheap use of kids to Elevate the gore wasn't needed. It was actually that a cheap way to had extra terror.

And to Fien out the start and the end are full circle is just poor.

Of you enjoy scary movies avoid this it's purely a cult movie for this who liked the original.

Please don't make a third as it's just not worth it. Don't remake avg movies that aren't super popular.

Ambush (I) (2023)

Bad just bad

Decent name actors and yet bad acting, writing and effects

B grade movie would be nice, more like D grade

Why did we need this movie to be made, it doesn't help the story of vets and feels like a cheap war movie with no plot or purpose.

One min fire fight then boom we are good.

So much potential with no pay off and no plan.

I need to write 400 word and yet I've run out of things to say on this bad movie I wish I could give more yet the movie had no value to do so. So I'll just ramble on and on now just to make up the requirements.

Vietminh deserves better and better story telling maybe next time.

Secret Invasion (2023)

Boring and lucklusted

This show is boring and a real shame given all the angles they could have done with Nick Fury and the secret invasion.

Had this been made into a movie like a big boss type when everything was on the line then maybe it could be saved, but this is so far from the source material, lacking the danger and threat element.

I've fallen asleep in every episode given it's pace and lack of intrigue to the characters.

Marvel is need good directs using source material to make our fav comics come to life no some weak version of great story lines with bad writing.

Capt marvel present the skrulls nicely this series doesn't overly enhance them to creditable players in the MCU.

The Mandalorian: Chapter 19: The Convert (2023) Season 3, Episode 3

Too much filler

The start and the end of the episode maybe 20-30min worth was great, continued the story well, the middle section, at this point seemed pointless no doubt it will pay off but it was too long and at this stage didn't help mandos story, simply put the pay off wasn't there for the filler section that came out of no where.

This could have been sprinkled into all the episodes of season 3 5-10min at a time without taking away from Mando, instead what was a 58min episode was really at best 30min but more like 20min of this episode was for mando and this adventure.

Disney should do better and tie things in more neatly.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law (2022)

Potential but failed badly

This show (after 8 episodes) had so much Potential, and yet has managed to massively fail.

The humour is just lame and poor, I don't think I've laughed once despite all the attempts the show tried to make.

The first 5-6 episodes had great cameos that keep me somewhat engaged and since then it's quite simply been bad story telling and even worst 4th wall breaking.

There has been little to no fights scene since the 1st episode and Jen just comes off as sad and she hulk as cheesy.

So far the marvel shows have been ok, but this is turning bad with no pay off other then a weak world war hulk tie on that was all of 15sec that could have been in any end credit MCU film.

I'd say with 8 down give this a miss and for marvel to do better.

Echoes (2022)

Solid thriller

This was a great binge series. I felt the plot was compelling and keep me and my partner engaged the whole time.

With so many twists, turns, double turns. You need to pay attention to know who's who and what's what.

Yeh ending was less so satisfying as it could have been. So much potential to set up a solid ending it was left to open and unclean.

The CGI was terrible when used. But outside of the the first 4 episodes were great and had you guessing.

The back and forth in the timeline helped explained missing pieces and tie the story's currents into present day as well as asking who is really the one at fault?

Samaritan (I) (2022)

Ok action movie

This movie is ok, story was avg, had a good twist, cgi was avg and the world building was brief and felt rushed.

Action scene just didn't land and the hero's powers never explained bothered me.

Amazon need to invest more $$ into good action movies with great stories and good plots as sadly they are missing.

Ok for a weekend watch to chew up some time. We need sly from the 80s not this cringe sly trying to tie this softer side. Edgy sly is best.

600 character omg this is hard when a movie doesn't require that much to write about. Yes this weeds out reviewers with no content but when a movie is just ok makes this harder and harder and now I'm just filling up space.

The Contractor (2022)

Similar story's told already

Similar story, ex military guys gets screwed over and comes for revenge. Chris Pine just wants the guy for it and the story felt forced at times and rushed with no pay off.

If you like bad spy type/vets getting revenge then watch this.

Let Him Go (2020)

Intense western drama

Wow this movie was intense and hard hitting, not what I expected from the cast, powerful moments that are just heart breaking and impactful. This will make you cry and break you heart.

Great day time thriller with a roller coaster of emotions.

Prey (I) (2022)

Solid movie

Not sure why many are panning this, as it's a solid movie and def top 3 in the franchise.

This movie get a lot right. Tension, thrills and action. I love the predators look it's different and unique given the time period it's set in - 300 years ago.

The story follows a young tribeswomen who wants to hunt, only to discover she things there is something out there, the predator.

The action scene were good and the idea of a predator looking to hunt testing himself against the strongest clans on that era is awesome. Even preds weapons were suited to the period and not just all adv high tech gear, well done Hulu.

60 Minutes (1979– )

Terribly journalism and lacks credibility

As the years have progressed the integrity of this show in aus has dropped, misleading journalism, crimes committed overseas by journalist and yet still they continue to do stories and not be held accountable.

One story has touched me personally and what was shown was completely untrue, misleading and false.

Anything to have a story that can try and grab headlines. The few quality stories and hard to take onboard with so many poor ones.

The Black Phone (2021)

Well worth the watch

This had it all, thrills, frights and suspense.

Def not what I expected but I'm a good way. The story kept me hooked and the pay off was well received.

I'd highly recommend watching this film as it truely had it all.

The Terminal List (2022– )

A real stand out

Wow this is a great series. Twists and turns that grip the viewer.

It's engaging and action packed.

I felt the casting was great across the board.

If your into military or counter int type movies this is for you.

Amazon does stand out series atm.

This doesn't need a follow up series it's perfect just as it is.

Morbius (2022)

Lost its focus

This is an example of Sony not wanting to lose its marvel characters License. Not a hugely popular character and seems almost blade like in its natural (much better franchise with Wesley Snipes).

The first scene in the cave had no context nor did the story come back to explain it fully.

Leto is a great actor but seems to be put in movies with bad writers and directors. The fight scenes seem more like 2000s matrix reloaded CGI.

The end credits had no context to the story other than to try and show Sony is doing its own mcu that it controls and feels forced.

The movie lacks originality, direction and purpose. Why sony chose to make this so close to the Batman film I don't know it's abit bay overload despite them being different franchises.

Save yourself the time skip this one.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022)

Fantasist - helps tie many things together

This movie was fantastic and simply impressive. The story it self starts of fast from the get go and doesn't slow down.

Doc strange brings together many marvel titles allowing for great and further expansion of the mcu with exisiting franchises and actors.

This movie has a horror feel to it, not jump frights but a horror evil feel never the less.

Mid credit scene is great, end one isn't worth waiting for unless you want a laugh.

All and all this movie delivered and delivered big in my opinion. Definitely sets up the next phase for the MCU.

Scream (I) (2022)

Just bad

Channels 10 attempt at a great British show is woeful and cringe worthy.

The cast are terrible. The host not good. Team captains, never heard of them, and very unfunny.

Please leave British comedy alone.

Eternals (2021)

Space gods to fill in mcu gap

This movie was ok, some good action scenes.

This was lacking real sense of danger and more filled in a back story as to how the celestials began. This also opens up more questions on them.

Some of the externals powers seem lame and nerfed.

The 2 lost credit scenes where the best parts of the movie. Artsy directors should not be used in the MCU it has done nothing for improving the MCU story line.

Very long movie that could have been shortened.

The Matrix Resurrections (I) (2021)

Continuing a new story

The start of this film has you guessing as to where things are going, where things are based and how they connect.

Slowly it becomes clear and old friends returning are explained.

The same love story exist, neo and trinity. Only this time WHO has the power is almost swapped, this may have to do with the directors own transition, from the first film being male to now this one being female, giving our female leads more and more power and influence.

The ending felt much like the end of reloaded, clearly open to continue if and when they wanted.

Lots of call backs to the original, the score wasn't nearly as good missing that tech vibe the first two had so brilliantly.

If a 5th was to occur I think the sisters need to reunite and direct together again. This one to me lacked the influence of both sisters directing, together they created the matrix and together they should finish these films with an ending fans and rally behind.

Masters of the Universe: Revelation (2021)

Part 2 is amazing

Part 2 is the conclusion we all needed. Characters come full ark and climaxes with amazing battles and fight scenes we never got in the 80s All minor and major characters are on show.

All this whole issue that may have been in part 1 (personally didn't think it was) is def gone in part 2.

Def the ending we needed to a great series.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021)

Sony needs to stop making marvel movies

This movie was just BAD. Humour didn't stick, first turn round was ok second just bad.

CGI is great So much potential and poor execution on all fronts. Two great characters watered down and poorly portrayed

And WTF, Carnage is venoms son!!?!? Then he eats him to kill him?!?!? Really? Why is that needed ?

Venom says he can't win he is a Red one? Yet this is never explained in any detail?

Tom's venom voice is just Banes voice from the dark knight, slightly deeper.

Two many poor love stories with an attempt at poetry.

Please Sony, stop making marvel movies. Let marvel make them fully. Unite the MCU fully we don't need this bad Sony mcu A waste of 90min for sure.

King Richard (2021)

Stand out drama

Great movie, great acting. Story of the two best tennis stars in the world. Primary focus is on Venus. Will smith needs to do more of these types of movies to stay relevant.

Story was welL told.
