3 Body Problem (2024)
Mediocre to down right bad at best
Besides the bad characters. The entire premise is dumb. There is no way life let alone an advanced civilization could evolve under such chaotic and destructive conditions Also, why would an advanced civilization that had developed quantum tech and built thousands of spaceships not be able to figure out how to travel faster than light? Also, why would they need to conquer a planet that already has a civilization on it, when even our primitive civilization has been able to detect hundreds of exo-planets that could be suitable for colonization? Another thing is why are the scientist characters so unscientific? They hang around bars all the time and put possible mind controlling helmets on without a second thought? Also, how could an advanced civilization not understand such a basic thing as metaphor in a children's story? D & D strike out again.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon (2023)
Bland story writing
I can't believe the writers think just because it's in France, they have to use flintlocks and every French person somehow knows very good English. If I were French, I would feel insulted. This messiah thing is a worn out trope in end of the world type stories. Too many long drawn out scenes of people just talking and talking. I'm just watching for the sake of watching. What ever happened to good script writing? It's the foundation of every good show. All the special effects should just be icing on the cake. Please stop making this story drag on and on....it's become a cash cow for AMC and I feel short changed.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds: Subspace Rhapsody (2023)
I think Kurtzman and Goldman are trying to get themselves fired
I don't hate musicals, but this silly stuff belongs on Lower Decks. This episode was so terrible it had to be on purpose. It seems the show runners don't want to be involved anymore. The silly throw away episode was the crossover episode with Lower Decks... this was not needed and a total waste of an episode. Makes me want to cancel my subscription. This episode is a symptom of a problem with the show runners not understanding what Star Trek is about. I can only cringe so many times till it becomes unbearable. For love of all things Star Trek please make it stop. It put me in a sour mood, which is not the reason I've watched Star Trek over the decades. That is all.
For All Mankind: New Eden (2022)
Too many storylines
This show is becoming bogged down with superfluous plot lines. The private company story was not needed and the personal drama is making the show drag along at a snails pace. Please focus on the people who are in space please.
The Northman (2022)
I expected more from this director
After watching The Witch and The Lighthouse, I was expecting the same type of psychological journey from The Northman. The movie seemed to come off as a collection of video game cut scenes with gory violence, as expected but not much else. Unlike his previous two movies, I found myself glancing at my phone to check the time. Maybe a re-watch will help, but I shouldn't have to say that about this average movie.
Midway (2019)
Needed 6 to 12 months more rendering time for special effects
While I did enjoy the inclusion of the submarine Nautilus and the contribution of the land based aircraft from Midway itself, the Pearl Harbor and Marshal Islands scenes were not needed. The story of the battle itself should have been more fleshed out. Also, they just skip on the counter-attack scene by the Hiryu that dooms the Yorktown. Ed Skerien's campy New York gangster accent was ridiculous. The cgi was not ready either...it really needed a few more months of work.
Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City (2021)
It's too much like the game...
I've played almost all the games and appreciated the movie for staying true to it, but the story is just meh. I also really enjoyed the 1st 3 Mila Jovovich movies too. The end seems very rushed too. Not much of a final boss battle. Wait till it's on Netflix or something.
Another Life (2019)
I never thought I could find a sci-fi show worse than Alex Kurtzman's Star Trek
Just finished season 2 and I am still wondering why I watched this. The special effects are pretty good to atrocious. The plot seems like it was written by a 12 year old. I only watched it because of all the former BSG alumni in it. Avoid Another Life at all costs. Save yourselves.
Mythic Quest: Raven's Banquet: A Dark Quiet Death (2020)
I this a different show to fill space?
What's the point of introducing characters you're never seeing again? Not saying it's bad episode but it seems more like an episode of Girls.
The Walking Dead: Splinter (2021)
Average episode...but it feels weird
I like the Princess chracter, but a whole episodecentered on a side character we haven't seen in several episodes? I don't see why the 1 and 2 star reviews here. This episode was about the same one off type episode this new half of the season seems like. But it is time to wrap tjings up
The Walking Dead: Open Your Eyes (2019)
Long time viewer that just came back...
I stopped watching this show after season 9...it had grown stale and repetitive with no conclusion on the horizon. I remember when Sundays were great with The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones(before season 7-8). It's time to wrap it up. The Alpha villian is not very strong and the entire premise of the Whisperers is quite stupid. I give this episode a 3 just for the great special effects of Gregory Nicotero.
Hitler: The Last Ten Days (1973)
Obi Wan Kenobi and General Veers are in it
Thank God Hitler didn't use the force...
Downfall used a lot from this movie...Alec Guiness does the best Hitler perfomance I can remeber.
The Boys: Good for the Soul (2019)
All the pharisees are crying
This episode id good at showing who the right wing pharisees are...pure genius
For All Mankind (2019)
Pretty good series
I actually didn't realize it was fiction until the Russians got to the moon first....all the Trump deplorable hater manbabies will cry of course. Ronald D. Moore knows how to make good drama in SciFi movies
Zombies of the Stratosphere (1952)
MST3K Material
I'm surprised this wasn't a Mystery Science Theater 3000 Riff....I watched it because it said Leonard Nimoy...he's barely in it. It's so bad it's funny...
The Orville: Sanctuary (2019)
All the triggered Trump snowflakes are crying....priceless
It's a good moral story in the finest Star Trek tradition...
