I am hooked!
Wonderful! Wonderful lead with a beautiful voice, a kind of engaging charisma that is entirely his own and a wonderful actor - he never overacts or makes use of cheap tricks to convey emotion. He's a real talent. I really got into the plot and it's a beautiful, complex and creepy weave. Masterful acting, plot, storyline and directing. I was itching for something really juicy and complex and thrilling like this. If you're looking for something brilliant, clever and original this is for you. If you like like films or series with little to no plot, predictable and full of gratuitous gore look elsewhere. This is wonderfully crafted mounting sort of psychological horror it's a fine instrument not a big whacking stick.
Dexter: New Blood: Sins of the Father (2022)
THEY RUINED IT
Words can't express how much I hate what they have done with the ending. They did a great reboot and made the fans hope this would be extended then they took it all away, turned Dexter into an idiot and killed off the thing that made the show. No one wants to watch a spin-off now - Harrison on the road? No thanks man.
Why would you guys do this to the fans? I'm unspeakably disappointed by this ending. Seriously what The hell were they thinking? There's literally no way that a Dexter fan can be happy with this ending because it ends the show. Whaaatttt theee heeeelllll???!!!
Dexter: New Blood (2021)
Show 10 BUT ENDING ZERO
I would have given this a 10 ten but I am giving the last episode and the ending a ZERO. I am so freaking mad about this ending. I was already thinking that I really hoped they would extend the show into several seasons but I won't want to watch whatever they will cobble up now unless they can bring Dexter back... The season was great - until the end. Then they just completely wrecked everything. I really can't believe they've done this they've completely wrecked any hope for the future of the show. Why WHY WHY? Way to piss off the fans! I can't believe they got our hopes up by bringing Dexter back only so that they could pour iced water over our heads. WHY?!
The Boys (2019)
Suprisingly believable
I know this series is sort of darkly comedic but it's basically also almost prophetic - in the current zeitgeist I fully believe that this is what would happen if superheroes were real. General idiocy would ensue and people would suffer for it.
The Mandalorian (2019)
Now this is talent!
Great story, fantastic characters and film making... Plus, obviously baby yoda is the best thing to happen to the Star Wars franchise in a long time and it was a great franchise to begin with... Pedro Pascal is brilliant as the Mandalorian. Take my 10/10 with my thanks for too notch entertainment!
Wraith (2017)
Pathetically bad
Honestly... This is almost epically bad but not in a fun way like an Ed Wood film in the most mind numbingly boring way. I don't know what it is about people who want to make ultra right-wing anti-choice/woman/visible minorities type movies or "art" but I've literally never seen anything made by them that gave the slightest hint of an aptitude for storytelling, music, art, comedy or filmmaking. This though - ouf - next level god awful and boring. The only good part was laughing at the acting of the adult actress playing a 13-year old. Awful.
