The Bible vs. the Book of Mormon (2005)
Studying for yourself or watching a documentary from another church, which gets the best result?
Or you could read the Book of Mormon and judge from that. There are essentially two kinds of documentaries, informative, and rhetorical. Informative gives unbiased information, rhetorical sends the message the director wants it to send. Guess which kind this is. Documentaries are fun and sometimes great, however most of the time it is simply a platform for people to talk negatively about things they don't like and positively about things they do like. I haven't actually seen this, but in my experience, whenever it is a doc on a religion by another religion, generally isn't very open-minded. And why does everybody have to pick on the Mormons? You don't see docs on the atrocities of the Catholic Church, or the complete contradictions of a thousand "Christian" religions from the teachings of Christ from the Bible. One last question, my understanding was that Mormons use the Book of Mormon and the Bible, so why all the hoopla.
The Black Ninja (2003)
Amazing
Was this amazing work of art shot on film? I wouldn't think so by looking at it, but at a couple of points I thought I could hear the whir of the camera, which you generally don't hear on video cameras. Wow I just didn't know what to say about this film. A previous poster wrote that it was better than a student film, I would beg to differ. I am a film student, and the lighting in this film can only be described as breath taking, and scary. And the abnormal use of the fishbowl lens had to have been out of necessity, not choice. I purchased it because I am writing a script for a low budget action flick, and I thought it would have had some helpful hints. I was wrong. Basically it taught me a thousand things I shouldn't do.
