Exceeded my expectations
26 December 2021
This was truly a unique, and almost one of a kind movie going experience in this day and age. The cinematography was amongst the best I've seen in recent memory, and the sound mixing was exceptional. It appears to have been shot on a sound stage, and this minimal approach makes you feel like you were witnessing a tremendous performance in a theatre.

Denzel's command of not only MacBeth, but his Shakespearean prose was what I came to see, and he does not disappoint. Watching him and McDormand slowly descend into madness was a feast for the senses. This was a lot of fun.

Rebranding the series for a new audience.

AHS has always been a benchmark for TV horror, and although it's waxed and waned over the years, it's managed to maintain a level of consistency seldom seen in TV these days.

Well that's done now - this is pretty much "Goosebumps" or "Are You Afraid of the Dark" but under the AHS brand. Temper your expectations, and proceed with caution.

Yikes

A B-movie with a big budget is the nicest way I can describe this film. Brosnan is pretty good in this, and does his best with a laughably bad script that felt like it was written by an A. I. program. The sets and locations are actually quite nice, and the cinematography isn't bad either. The rest of the movie is a mess; the plot makes no sense, the dialogue is again, how a robot thinks people converse, and Nick Cannon almost ruins every scene he's in. I predict that you will ask yourself no less than 10 times "what am I watching?" during this movie.

If you go into this expecting it to be bad, you may actually enjoy yourself!

If DC made a show for the CW...

You have Jupiter's Legacy. Overly ambitious, family-centric drama that just falls flat. It's entertaining so long as you don't expect too much out of it.

It's exactly what you'd expect.

As a big Kevin James fan, I enjoyed this. Is it good TV? Not really, but it's a comfortable vehicle for Kevin to be himself, and that's really all I need from this show.

Alternate review: Kevin James stars in a 5 hour sitcom based commercial for NASCAR, Stella Artois, and Ruffles.

Rom-com version of a Buddy Cop movie

It's a fun, easy watch with a couple good laughs sprinkled in. It's one of those movies we've all seen dozens of times, and there's a certain mindless comfort that comes with movies like this.

As long as you aren't looking for anything groundbreaking, and don't take it too seriously, this is an enjoyable popcorn movie.

Promising first season
2 May 2020
Very binge-worthy light comedy, with a twist of romance/drama. With the episodes being roughly sitcom length (22-30 mins each), and it's easily digestible material, you can burn through the first season with relative ease.

Be forewarned that that despite being tagged as a comedy, it is rather light on the laughs. Viewers expecting the comedic tone, and pacing of The Office should look elsewhere. Most of the show's comedy can be found in futuristic tongue-in-cheek references to past/present events, rather than the traditional comedic fare one would expect from a Greg Daniels offering.

However, what this show lacks in laughs, it makes up for with a well written, original plot.
