Many of the bios written about Martin and Lewis state that Jerry was about 1/4 inch taller than Dean. He had to get some material shaved off the heels of his shoes and needed to "stoop over" a little bit to be "the little guy". No way was Dean taller.

It was stated in "Dean and Jerry" a love story and also in the biography channel's special about Dean Martin.

As far as Jerry's performance goes... An excellent performance with substandard writing. AND today is Jerry's birthday!

Thank goodness for DVD's... we will never lose these great performances.

As I watched the credits, I noticed the actor & actress playing Mr. & Mrs. Butterman were the same people that voiced Rudolph and Hermie the Elf in the 60's classic "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer". Just a bit of movie / TV trivia.

As far as the movie goes, not the worst I've seen (surely not the best either).

Notorious is a great movie overall, but there are editing differences between the DVD version and the laserdisc version. On the laserdisc, a film historian is narrating some scenes on the analog audio track... one that stands out is a scene in which Cary Grant's character drops a champagne/wine bottle, and the historian notes that a bottle would take less than a second to hit the floor. The laserdisc contains the bottle falling, a cut to Grant's facial expression, a cut to Ingrid Bergman's facial expression, and then a cut back to Grant's expression, then the bottle hits the floor (about 4 seconds give or take). Basically, Hitchcock extended the scene for a bit more suspense.

This scene on the DVD only shows Grant's first expression and the bottle hits the floor (about the normal 1 second or so for it to fall).

When it comes to Hitchcock, I'm sure he himself would have wanted the audience to see his movies exactly how he wanted them edited, and not re-edited for any reason (could you imagine re-editing of the Shower Scene in Psycho?). If the DVD is to contain different edited scenes, there should be an extra supplement stating this, not put directly into the film.
