Ok series with awful dumb characters (granddaughter, boyfriend and boyfriend's mother)
7 March 2023
Heard good things about this series but...the granddaughter, ger boyfriend and his mother are the worst! Unlikeable, obnoxious characters! I'm on episode 4 and i don't know if a can keep going...really, they make the worst decisions, they show no respect, for no one! The boyfriend and his mother simply invaded the home of the elderly he sent to hospital, just like that! And the mother walks around like everyone else is wrong, the main plot is basic, they took a Charles Bronson/Liam Neeson character and made a show around it, but the drama brings it down and i have to point out that the protagonist is kinda over the top sometimes, too 90's macho Gran Torino wannabe...

This series reminded me of my friends, our time together and the stupid things we did, also it has a lot of pop culture references, especially if you like Star Wars and comic books, it shows that Edgar was born to direct comic book movies, this was the beginning of the cornetto trilogy, Pegg, Frost and Wright work well together, it's so funny and smart at the same time, if you like Shaun of the Dead, you will like this series, well written, well acted and well directed, granted the first season is somewhat superior to the second one, but still i recommend it in all, you won't have a dull moment, it's rare to find someone capable to translate so well what's like to grown whiteout forgetting who you are, check it out.
