The Ren & Stimpy Show: Marooned/A Cartoon (Untamed World) (1991)
Classic cartoon
I think both of these Ren and Stimpy cartoons are great. Full of laughs, enjoyment, and classic Ren and Stimpy comedy in general. By the way, "Untamed World" is actually called "A Cartoon."
Brand Spanking New! Doug (1996)
Yet another disappointing revival of a classic cartoon
This show reminds me so much of another revival of a Nickelodeon series, Ren and Stimpy: Adult Party Cartoon. Both Doug and The Ren and Stimpy Show started out as Nicktoons, and after cancellation, both were given a second life by different cable networks. Fans of Doug and Ren and Stimpy alike were excited for the upcoming revivals of their favorite Nicktoons, and the creators of Doug and Ren and Stimpy (Jim Jinkins and John Kricfalusi respectively) had a lot of new stories to tell. Unfortunately, I, along with several others, found both to be a disappointment. Both had very unnecessary changes to the characters, such as their personalities which were either extremely flanderized or completely changed. That my be my biggest complaint. Also, Billy West did the voices for Doug and Roger in the original, and he did the voice of Ren (for seasons 3-5) and Stimpy. He does not return for the revivals which is quite disappointing. Doug and Roger are voiced by Tom McHugh and Chris Phillips, while John K reprises his role as Ren from the first two seasons, and Stimpy is voiced by Eric Bauza. I think both were kind of gong for the premise of the characters being sort of "grown up" now, since Doug is about one year older than he originally was and is now in high school and Adult Party Cartoon is now airing in "the first network for men" and is intended for adult audiences only, but it just didn't work out really.
Arthur's Missing Pal (2006)
A mediocre movie based on a mediocre show
What more can I say other than that? This film has almost no redeeming qualities, as the animation is ugly, the voice acting sucks, the story is unoriginal, and the runtime isn't even feature length. Apparently, this was released in theaters in select cites in addition to being a home video release, but who actually went out to see this and sat through the whole thing without walking out of the cinema? This is Arthur's first and currently only feature film, and I may have been interested in a film franchise, but after seeing this, I don't ever want to see another Arthur movie again.
And one more thing that I've observed, I believe it was released in select theaters just so it would be eligible for being nominated for what I believe was "Best Picture, Sound, and Quality." I don't quite remember, but the fact that it was nominated for anything along the likes of actual real films like Ice Age 2 baffles me. This movie is not worth your time.
South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut (1999)
Awesome adaptation
The film follows a young 8 year old boy named Stan Marsh and his friends as they go to see an R-rated film based on their favorite television series, Terrance and Phillip. After viewing, Stan and the gang pick up on all sorts of naughty language, which enrages their mothers. This eventually leads into Sheila Broflovski, Kyle's mother, forming a group called Mothers Against Canada (MAC) who plan to execute Terrance and Phillip and start an entire war with Canada. It's up to Stan, Kyle, and Cartman to unite to rescue Terrance and Phillip and stop the war. Meanwhile, Kenny McCormick, after imitating a stunt he saw in the film, ends up dying and being sent to Hell, where he meets Satan and his companion Saddam Hussein. Kenny learns of a sinister plan, which involves them rising up to rule the Earth as soon as Terrance and Phillip are executed. Each boy has their own unique reason as to why they must stop the war. Stan must learn to step up as a leader and save the day in order to win over his crush Wendy Testaburger, Kyle must learn to stand up to his mother, Cartman, after having a V-chip implanted in him that shocks him whenever he swears, wants to have it removed, but later uses it during the climax, and Kenny must convince Satan to dump Saddam and not allow him to rise up to Earth with him.
South Park (1997)
Nice
The story of a young boy named Stan Marsh, your average 8 year old boy, and his pals, Kyle, Eric, and Kenny as they find themselves involved in all sorts of adventures and strange predicaments.
