The Rockford Files: Kill the Messenger (1978)
Becker's finest performance
Dennis Becker is outstanding in his performance, particularly in the scenes with the chief. He is so believable in his relationship with his family and the department. Ed Harris plays the crazed cop in fine fashion as well. And Rockford is fabulous as always. But Sergeant Becker takes the cake by his performance. His irritation at Rockford is too funny at the end, plus the cameo by lieutenant Chapman in the office. In fact Becker is the best New Yorker playing a Los Angeles cop of any tv series. Then the surprise at the end makes it perfect. Best episode ever for Becker to show his well rounded acting skill and breadth of emotions.
Un autre homme, une autre chance (1977)
James Caan is the only redeeming factor
James Caan is very believable and does a great job. But could there be any worse cinematography than this? Camera shots taken directly into the sun, then transitioning in and out of shadows-very amateurish.
