Tucker family needs to get tucked
30 March 2022
If your selling Alicia Silverstone as the little minx who drives males crazy - then I'm buying. But she's not the only attraction here. Actress Lee Garlington is somewhat sexier here as the ignored but hungry mom in stockings with her black negligee hanging on the bathroom door.. Even the the little boy is hot for the Babysitter. Hell, the whole damn family is horny and not gettin' any. And tucked in this film is Lois Chiles, one of James Bond's best looking co-stars.

Skaterdater (1966)
10/10
Timeless
9 July 2004
Though I only saw this movie once forty years ago, I, too, distinctly remember it.

It was a short before a feature, but the next day all I could talk about was 'Skaterdater'. I met someone else who had been equally effected by it. What I remember is the drama of a young California skate boarder rising to the challenge of plunging down a steep hill. Set to instrumental surf music, it made the hair on my neck stand up! The fact that the film won as many awards as it did assures me it wasn't just my imagination.

It's very cool to see it here on IMDb and learn who the director (Noel Black) and composer (Mike Curb) were and what they did. The children actors, who don't speak, never made another film. This is a timeless movie that should be available for all who seek

Project Greenlight (2001–2023)
A bunch of white boys their chests.
19 January 2002
Trying to make a low budget independent feature movie is always an interesting lesson in futility. It reminds of that line in "Body Heat" when William Hurt visits his client, Mickey Rourke in jail: "When you commit a crime, there are 50 ways to screw up. If you can think of 10 of them - you're a genius". Although this does give an interesting "behind the scenes" look at the complexities - the process is somewhat tainted by the fact a camera is ever present. What we are left with is a bunch of white boys beating themselves on the chest in a battle over self importance.

Miracle Mile (1988)
Low budget film making at it's best!
26 May 2001
It is unfair to judge "Miracle Mile" for what it should be without realizing what it is - A low budget movie that takes on the monumental task of telling it's tale about the end of the world - without special effects!!

With solid casting, story telling, cinematography and outstanding music - it succeeds brilliantly! Big budget flops such as Armageddon, Deep Impact or Volcano don't have anything near the soul this baby does. The subtle last 30 seconds will surely go over the heads of those who don't understand the history of the La Brea tar pits - even though the lesson is taught early in the story.

Actually, the 87 minute running time could have been cut down to 60 minutes - but then it wouldn't be a feature
