Not What I Expected...
This isn't the best horror film I've ever seen, but it isn't the worst. I'll start with the pros:
I think Rebecca was great at killing and being creepy. I legit jumped when she popped up. The film is also good with atmosphere-particularly during the parts at night and her creeping around and scaring people.
Now onto the cons:
The acting wasn't great. I think the actress who played Rebecca was more enjoyable when she talked less. She overacted for real. When they interviewed her, she kept zoning out, and to me, it didn't really make sense. Sorry. The main characters, Teddy and Claire weren't the best either. They weren't believable as a couple or even vloggers. The other actress was ok, but I didn't remember much from her besides when she threw the rock or whatever into the door, the fake out death, and her getting stabbed the way that she did.
Speaking of which, the way Rebecca stabbed her in the gut was so weird. The kill was effective with Rebecca just stabbing her through her chin.
This may be a reach, but I really feel as though they could've just driven around her and not gotten out of the car at all, but I guess we have to do things that are convenient for the plot.
The ending wasn't too bad. I'm not upset that the villain won, but are people really so desensitized that they can't have understanding that a woman is uploading a video to plead for help?
Maybe the lesson is that vloggers need to be more authentic and not try and do things for clicks and views.
Overall, I'd recommend this if you're looking to pass some time.
SparkShorts: Loop (2020)
Very Interesting
It seems as though Disney is really showing us new ideas every year. I don't really have too many interactions with people with autism, but from what I can see from other reviews, it is depicted perfectly-especially with those who are non-verbal. I love the idea of inclusiveness and showing challenges that people with disabilities face. I hope that more people see this and at least have an understanding that no matter the difference, everyone can be involved.
Fear Street: 1666 (2021)
Confused About...
Ok...so this one and the second one aren't so bad, but I'm confused about 3 things. Why did Nick bring Ziggy back if the Goode's wanted to keep the whole curse thing going? Also, why did Sheriff Goode's neighbor get hit by that truck as soon as Deena and Sam came out of the house, and why did Deena spray cologne on. They didn't really explain any of that. I'm not saying a horror film has to be perfect, but some things can't just be left up to the viewer's interpretation...

What Did I Just Watch?
I've never been so frustrated watching a movie. Can't believe this got an 87 on Rotten Tomatoes. Terrible, terrible movie overall.
Hereditary (2018)
Scary, Genius, and Effective!
I was just able to sit and watch this for the first time. This is genuinely the first time in a long time an actually horror movie scared the pants off of me. I'd definitely recommend this one if you're a horror fan and haven't seen it yet.
