A nice surprise
8 February 2021
I came in with low expectations given the other reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised. Both of the leads filled their roles very well. Blayne Weaver played the confident womanizer that thinks he has love figured out and then finds out that he doesn't. I had not seen Natalie Morales before, but she was more than eye candy, she played the intelligent part of the woman who could see through all the pick up lines from Blayne's character while adding some mystery of her own past. The way she she put the comic touch to serious lines reminded me of Juila Roberts. It was the witty repartee between these two that made the movie for me. Patrick Adams also did well with the high energy "Rock star" who thought he was more in control than he was. There are some twists that you would expect from a Rom Com, but they have their own unique turns that fit the characters well. If you want something a little different, it would be worth a watch.

Mildly engaging

As Rom Coms go, it fit the bill. The plot was interesting and the acting was good enough, but not excellent, especially the leads. Torrey DeVitto is lovely and I liked her character, though I didn't buy her change of opinions about Chris Cordone's character. He was likable as the two main characters, but I don't see how anyone could possibly mistake their totally different personalities. John Aprea and Kevin Chapman were both very good as the boss and his henchman. I would agree that it was better than most of the low budget films in this genre today. If you have a couple of hours that you don't know what to do with, you could do worse.

Did I see a different movie?
27 June 2020
I saw all the bad reviews and decided to skip this movie until my daughter talked me into seeing the Blue Ray. It was much better than I was led to believe, as good as the original and better than the first sequel. I don't like Kristen Stewart generally, but she was quite funny in this character. Not a perfect film, but definitely more than I expected. From all the horrible early reviews, I wonder if this was a different movie than what was in theaters?
