Fauda (2015)
I did not want to watch it, but...
I did not want to watch Fauda when I realized that it was an Israeli production.
But I watched the first episode and got hooked, and I have seen another reality on both sides of the conflict Israel/Palestine that includes the families and all the feelings that those relations imply.
In Fauda you find lots of hate, manipulation, pain, lies, interrogation=torture, death of innocent people by being involved in actions forced to do, and eventually, the cause of their deaths.
Part of the manipulation in conflicts is to humanize our side/our soldiers and demonize the enemy. The reality is that terrorists = soldiers = special forces = mercenaries are peas of the same pot. Different names for the same job. To kill. For different reasons, but to destroy and kill.
In Fauda, the acting is great, very realistic, the production and scripts too. It is a new perspective of the conflict. It is sad to see the suffering of the families, and the soulless of THOSE who manipulate, lie, and kill on both sides, with NO remorse whatsoever.
Ensemble, c'est tout (2007)
I JUST FOUND THIS MOVIE AT SUNDANCE CHANNEL...I LOVED IT!!!
Not used to French movies. Just watched by chance, and just loved it. The story, the set, the characters, all the characters full of tenderness and funny. After watching it and loving it so much, I researched about it. It is based on Anna Gavalda's book, which I bought in French to revive my rusty French. This movie has reconnected me with French movies.
