Sri Rama Rajyam (2011)
I think it is a modern classic meant for modern generation
Yes, there were some flaws and inaccuracies in the story told by Bapu. Yet, it is a very genuine and excellent effort by the master craftsman Bapu to bring the mythological classic to the present day iphone wielding, ipad flashing and no-care attitude neo generation and it is an introduction to Ramayanam. Bapu specifically seems to have omitted 'Padyamulu" ( poems) keeping in view of the modern generation in view. However, I find this movie enthralling and captivating especially some emotional scenes like Rama seeing Seetha for the last time the night before sending her away to forest. The way he touches the saree and tries not to disturb her sleep, shows the emotional quotient of the movie excellent shown by Bapu. Similarly, the sitting posture of Seetha during vanavasam when lava and kusha were singing Ramayana is a straight scene from Bapu's bommala raamayanam. The title song "jagadananda kaarak" is very divine. I feel we can not compare this movie with original NTR's LavaKusha, however, it is a modern classic for modern generation.
The Parent Trap (1998)
This movie is really good and entertaining for the whole family
Lindsay Lohan as twins did her job fantastic. I am not sure whether it is an original story or adopted from other foreign language movie, Because there is an Indian movie ( Telugu movie - Letha Manasulu) made in 1966 has similar story line.
Halley and Annie both twins played by Lindsay Lohan are separated as their parents get divorced. They meet in a camp and then realise their relation and try to unite their parents successfully. They play tricks to scare away the new girl who enters into their father's life by playing naughty tricks and finally succeed in uniting their parents. There are lots of interesting moments for children who will really enjoy this movie.
