Extremely slow and annoying.
8 January 2021
I read many reviews before watching this. At first, I thought the girl would change eventually after few episodes but damn she's slow and annoying till the end. The show shoves down sweetness in such a frustrating manner that at one point I felt like I would get diabetes just by watching it.

I like more mature work like wotaku wherein communication between couples feel natural and not forced. The mc cries her eyes out all the damn time even if she's happy, sad, embarrassed or surprised. There isn't even one episode where she hasn't cried and I can't take It anymore. Female leads should have more attributes to them. They forcefully want to label it as cute and sweet but it actually feels even more dumb than wolf girl and black prince. Both leads could have confessed on 5th episode itself but even communication between characters is slow, this whole thing could have been completed in 15 episodes without leaving a damn thing.

Realistic and mature anime
2 January 2021
To everyone telling the ending wasn't good: This isn't even an ending, it's just the mid part of the anime. This show needs a season 2 to answer many questions of audience.

Now to enjoy this show thoroughly, you must read manga so you will understand what ending is going to lead to(coz manga was halted halfway due to writer's health issues). Only some chapters feel missing in manga and many things seem to be sorted out. Go watch this anime, read manga and you will have experienced one of the most mature and realistic show.

Review after reading manga
2 January 2021
The truth is I would have given it 3 stars if I hadn't read the end in manga.

This anime is more like a girl drooling over a hot guy who she fell in love with. The issue is more with the girl than with the guy. The guy knows he's a sadist and knows he's mean. This girl just takes up every insult, every demeaning stuff and it made me sick. She's so under-confident, self-centered, and a hopeless girl in the anime that I wondered why he even fell in love with her. The whole start still makes me cringe, she refuses a guy who promise to respect and treat her well and went with a guy who calls her a dog and makes her act like one. They are incompatible, childish, dishonest, and I wonder this is what teenagers think of when they think of "love"? This show is annoying and sickening in the start.

Now why I gave 6 stars? I gave it for the last 5-6 chapters of manga. The ending shows how couple works in a realistic way, what lies ahead for them and how many hardships are actually there to make a relationship work. I skipped many chapters to reach to the end fast. I would suggest you people to watch few episodes to know the flow then start reading from chapter 38 or so to avoid feeling disgusted. Anyhow, if you plan to just watch the anime, DON'T. It isn't sweet high school romance, it's just a hot guy insulting and toying with a girl. Rather watch Ao Haru Ride and then read its manga. I like the main character(girl) much more than this one. She atleast has a good amount of self respect and isn't annoying.

Banana Fish (2018)

A roller coaster ride.

I don't know why the ratings are this low? It should have been above 9 for sure. I think people see it as a yaoi. Folks it is not. It's about a guy whose childhood was traumatic as hell. If you consider it as a yaoi, you are sick beyond help. You won't be able to leave this anime without finishing in one go, it grabbed my attention like no other anime did. It is way too underrated and please folks, watch it with an open mind.

Anime adding so much on their own.
11 December 2020
Don't get me wrong, I don't have anything against this show but anime is adding too much more than manga. Manga is miles ahead of anime and yet kawaki isn't introduced in the show. This series has weakened so many characters just to show their kids to be strong. The biggest issue is that the main character has not been able to grab my attention as well as he should. I am always looking forward to seeing the old characters even if it's just a conversation and not anything else. That's the red flag right there. They are not serving right to the manga by adding unnecessary arcs.

Naruto: Shippuden (2007–2017)

A treat to watch
15 November 2020
Naruto has it all, fantastic antagonists with their own reasons to fight, protagonists like naruto, kakashi, jiraiya, hashirama and more, good story build up and great action. In this show, you cant just hate the villains as they have their backstories and aspirations to make the world a better place. I agree that the power scaling in naruto is very biased unlike one piece where there are a lot of people many times powerful than the main protagonist but it is supposed to be like that and come on, hardly anyone can hate a character like Naruto.

P.S: It deserves 9 stars but it just has so many filler that it gets hard to go through at one point of time.

One Piece (1999– )

I am glad I did not leave the show
15 November 2020
Okay, so I started one piece few months back. At first, I was annoyed by the character design because it seemed lame compared to animes like vinland saga and attack on titan. I left one piece after 20 episodes or so but then again I gave it a try. And, I am thankful that I did not give up on the show. It is meant to be slow paced, the character developments are good. When you compare time skips of naruto and one piece, it is quite evident how much luffy progressed in 2 years where naruto just grew older during that period. The characters grow onto you. Luffy grew up after the marineford war and so did his crew. The current arc(Wano), as per Oda is going to be better than marineford and I cant help but wait for new episodes. The only thing making people not watch this show is the sheer amount of episodes, but once you go through it all, you would wish that it never stops.
