Black Comedy (2014)
This is hilarious!
I love this show. It's feckin hilarious. The Tiddas with "What's this then slut???" cracks me up so much. The whole show is brilliant though!
I'm a white middle aged woman living in Western Australia, so I have grown up in such a racist environment against First Australians. Breaks my soul, not just my heart.
Can't believe that it's taken until the last 10 years for Australian TV to finally be providing a platform for such awesome First Australian talent.
Comedy is such a healing thing. It's an engaging and entertaining way of getting important messages across to the masses and it changes attitudes.
Please keep it up, Black Comedy crew, I hope you keep churning out content for us to laugh our arses off.
X.
Dark Skies (1996)
Very interesting show
Great show, I don't understand why it was cancelled when it won awards or was nominated for them, as well having mostly good reviews thesedays.
The show is co-written by Brent V. Friedman and Bryce Zabel of the "Need to Know" podcast with Ross Coulthart.
On the podcast, Zabel tells a fascinating story about a mysterious guest who turned up to the Dark Skies private screening party. The man explains that he had already seen the show (which was impossible) and that most of the story is quite accurate. He drew an equation on a napkin that described "sound, light and frequency" and gave it to Zabel Friedman... then he walked off into the night...
It would be good to remake the show or carry on from where it stopped.
The Royals (2015)
Do another season, please!
I watched The Royals up until season 4 on Netflix.
I became hooked.
It was funny, light-hearted and naughty. It was a completely unrealistic version of a British Monarchy. At first I scoffed at the unbelievability of it all, but then as the characters and stories developed, I fell in love! A great distraction from reality!
While I completely understand why Season 5 didn't go ahead, I'm still really annoyed about it. All of your fans have been left hanging and we miss the characters we have grown to love.
Please bring it back?? Without the sexual-predator-showrunner of course.
Come on everyone, you can do it!
Multidimensional (2021)
A great doco
Slattery is refreshingly honest in his accounts of highly strange phenomena.
He speaks from the heart about his experiences and is a voice for a lot of experiencers that can't find the words to describe what the hell they have gone through.
Yes there are many dimensions that people have experienced.... we can't laugh off the subject if we haven't seen or experienced them.
To the sceptics... suspend
your disbelief for a while and just LISTEN to the stories of those who have had the strangest experiences.....
Just listen to lots of different stories, find out about the people telling them...professionals, farmers, teachers, kids, whatever... look at their faces and you will get the gist that they are not mentally ill and not lying...
So what's happening then??
Tangle (2009)
More seasons, please?
I loved Tangle. The acting is superb, from the seasoned actors right through to the kids. Whoever cast this had their wits about them.
The show mirrors real life for some people, I can relate to some of the issues that were presented.
I have a question for the shows producers:
WHEN IS SEASON FOUR??
Keep going guys!
Please give us more seasons.
Bliss (2021)
Great film about drug psychosis.
Bliss is profoundly hitting home for me as a family member of loved ones with drug addiction, psychosis and schizophrenia. If you are trying to fit it in a matrix-style sci-fi box, you've missed the point. It's about the subjective experience of mental illness and the absolute reality split that is experienced by the person, while their loved ones desperately try to reach them. Its about the person giving their power away to another person, allowing their psychological boundaries to be crossed, because that sense of reality was extremely fragile to begin with. Both people can fuel and reaffirm each other's psychosis.
I've see my loved ones in drug fuelled co-psychosis. I think that is what this film is portraying. This is a great film. Well done, to the writer and cast.
Away (2020)
Great underrated show!
Excellent character development. The acting is great- why didn't it continue past the first season?? We need more good acting these days!
