Laxmii (2020)
AVOIDABLE FARE
What is up with the constant casting faux paus in Bollywood? Akshay looks too old to be cast in the main lead role opposite the beautiful Kiara - A huge age gap which hints at a Elektra complex or something. The movie has unnecessary songs which ruin the flow. Not to mention, another remake. Dissapointing.
One Step Beyond (1959)
Spine chillingly good
If you liked The Twilight Zone, you might enjoy this series a lot! Keeps the viewer at the edge of their seat.
Alfred Hitchcock Presents (1955)
WHODUNIT!
Anyone who loves film noir and crime based stories must be familiar with how brilliant Hitchcock was! This series showcases short stories which keep you guessing as to whodunit! The show was remade in the 1980s but it lacked the simplicity this original one had.
The Girl in the Café (2005)
Lovely film
Love might find you in odd places. And Cupid might pair you up with someone very different from you! I like this movie a lot.
I Eat, Therefore I Am (2015)
Hilarious series
A South Korean show which tickles your funny bone! The main actress esp is commendable and shares a cute chemistry with the hero (who is a famous Korean singer IRL). A must watch if you enjoy quirky humor and romcoms!
Love Aaj Kal (2020)
SOULLESS FILM
Sara and Kartik are difficult to tolerate in the film. Very hammy and over the top acting. Both, esp Sara, cannot emote well onscreen. Almost meme material worthy expressions! Imtiaz Ali as a director seems to have lost his Sufiyana based romance vision. Dissapointing.
Coolie No.1 (2020)
PAINFUL CINEMATIC EXPERIENCE
Badly produced, directed and acted. Over the top acting and unfunny jokes makes this film a weird cinematic experience. Sara should quit acting. Varun should stick to movies like Badlapur and October. Paresh Rawal dissapoints. Terrible.
That '70s Show (1998)
Funny sitcom
One of my fav American sitcoms! Very funny and great acting by all.
The IT Crowd (2006)
Top notch Brit comedy
Witty! The characters are really funny, esp bespectacled Moss. Better than TBBT which i find gets tedius after the 5th season. If you are looking for fine nerd based humor, go for this series. I feel British comedy is better than American.
Chhapaak (2020)
Deepika dissapoints
Deepika fails to handle nuanced characters in Non Sanjay Leela Bhansali films. 'Cocktail' in my opinion was okay and not as path breaking a performance as it is made out to be. Playing a heart broken rejected playgirl type character was just 'meh'. She should stick to glamorous dance and song roles like 'Happy New Year' than try experimenting with serious cinema like 'Chapaak'. Her acting comes off as strange - a bit hammy and unnatural.
HOWEVER, Vikrant is a good actor and such performers need to be encouraged more in Bollywood.
