Gets the job done
19 August 2008
Started the movie with a bit of skepticism but that didn't last long. I would say what impressed me most was the sublime use of characters in the movie.

No one seems really noticeable yet everyone pulls the strings in the right way. Nothing was over-done here, nada zip; nothing. I am a great fan of resident evil 1 and it seems that this movie really did the job of getting a viewer to visualise the through the original perception and not the one forced after seeing a lot of big-budget flashy, action-laden flicks.

This movie is worth its time. I really think so. As i already mentioned about the characters viewpoint, I felt any star in this flick would have had really spoilt it. Due to the fact that it comprised of people who are not seen everyday on the cinema front, tabloids has really worked for this movie.

On believing part it has

I would certainly say that moment of truth or say revelations don't happen suddenly...they happen lightning fast, really.

This movie right here delivers, on the quotient of being a gripping corporate drama. Narratives, exchanges and people in situation is all this movie promises for and delivers. However what was more gratifying than a superb performance from the people involved in this movie is the fact that by no means the end would disappoint a thorough bred movie watcher. It was absolutely fantastic and please don't get bothered by people saying that it's slow burning.

"There will be blood" was slow burning but there again revelations don't occur suddenly, they happen lightning fast. Great performance and the closing act would put all the pieces together for everyone of you who anticipate.

Really a great movie to watch.

Superb performance...

I don't really know why people cannot talk without putting terms as "he did it" while thinking about this movie. How racially charged or challenged were those times has been clearly talked about, filmed and factually corrected. Literature, personalities and even a simple man can confirm to those facts and we can really put an end to who did it...or he did it!!! The movie marks the most stellar performance from Denzel Washington as he portrays the character "Hurricane". What surprised and confirmed my earlier thoughts about people rating this movie are that an awful lot of movies in here have better rating than this movie....and the confirmation is that ratings do not matter This movie stands out and lets you feel the passion and focus of a man...not born under normal circumstances but freed under great conditions. I think I am confident enough to say about this movie....if you haven't seen this movie then it doesn't really matter to you what cinema can be and what cinema possibly can create.

Forget the ratings....I think when you're done seeing it, you would decide for yourself what I am trying to say here. Where is the Oscar....ohh did we miss it??? Gladly so.

Complexity defined by motion picture

I really can say I felt the movie in its right essence where the mind games from dreamy reality enter into the surreal aspect of future faced by Tom Cruise. I didn't cared much about Tom Cruise's acting prowess but I must say that he seems to impress at every point in the movie...not simply due to an engaging storyline but also due to his self being imparted to the lead character....they merge and then speak and its beautiful. However I must say this movie doesn't come under the "average flick of weekend" which you pick at random and watch gleefully; It carries strong sentiments and characters so don't wash this one down with your beer and pop-corns. It certainly needs more than that.

Honest undertones
23 October 2007
Coldness of the lead actor (Imaad) really makes up for this movie who perfectly lays the foundation of undertones and implicit scenarios woven by this script. Each character whether its schoolgirl (Ishiita) or the prostitute (Vaishali)or even aspiring model (Nikita) is a built-up for the single question raised and rediscovered in the end of the movie. Provocative yet to the ground reality are the high features, but as usual tapping the best out of Shreyas Talpade would have lead to an archetype(...bollywood cinema...did I say that correctly??). This movie gives you a breathing space but the question remains.... Are you aware of it and seek that space?? I was and I liked the movie till the end.

On rational lines...
21 October 2007
I would rather first comment upon the length which would be a decider for anyone who has a healthy appetite for movies, a tad shorter would've made it better. Yet this movie delivers, let it come to you...nice and easy. And then anyone can realize how simplicity and realism has been imparted to this movie..no particular stellar performances but simple plot and a simpler yet smooth performance by characters makes it interesting and fresh(...no cheesy lines or regular bogged "bollywood" plot). Moreover its a characters portrayal not an actor's image snitching it. I say this movie is worth your 2 hours...and then maybe 10-15 mins more of it
