Dying to Win (2022)
Terrible!
This is the worst acting I've seen in a long time! What a waste of time. From the main actress to the crazy agent, to the detectives who want to believe the worst. Then there's the talk show host who streams live and throws the guest under the bus just for ratings. I guess this is the world we live in now. But if you're looking for a movie to escape in, look elsewhere. It's lame.
I looked this actress up online and she's a YouTube star. What the heck? Is that how movies are getting cast now. Puh-lease!! Don't bother with this movie. It's predictable and overall, just dumb.
And am I the only one who noticed that the actor who played the agent... his accent kept volleying between twang and no twang?
Mountain Men (2014)
Love it!
I probably never would have watched this movie if Chace Crawford wasn't in it. I stumbled across it and because I adore Chace, I had to see it. I was not disappointed. There are a few groan-worthy and eye roll moments. Some say overuse of the F word, but that's one of my favorite words, so I'm ok with it. There are comedic parts, but overall, it's a drama that tugs on your heartstrings. Two brothers, who love each other but have drifted apart. Circumstances pit them together into a tough time. That gets even tougher when there's an accident and the slacker brother suddenly becomes the caregiver. It's a good reminder to remember who your family is and the love you have for them. The banter is witty, but real. Siblings fight and they have underlying resentment. I rooted for these two the entire time. I really loved that minus the beginning and end, it was just the brothers for the whole movie. I recommend it, and I'll definitely watch it again.
