Starship Troopers (1997)
25 years later still one of the best sci-fi movies ever made
Starship Troopers is a well filmed, action packed science fiction movie offering multiple layers of anti-fascist criticism on society in a satirical fashion. Be ready for two hours of enjoyment and if you're intelligent enough, thorough enjoyment. Despite its age, the special effects still look convincing. The pace of the movie is just right, never boring and never too energetic. As such this is a movie for the whole family from teenagers to elderly folks. Thank you Paul Verhoeven for giving us such a marble of a movie.
Unlike the original movie, I cannot recommend the sequels nor video games that this movie franchise gave birth to.
1917 (2019)
Very immersive WW1 experience, truly worth watching
1917 is not about a story, it is about immersing oneself in what it was like to be a soldier in the trenches in 1917. High quality movie worth every second of your time.
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989)
timeless classic as entertaining today as in 1989
This is a must see movie for fans of adventure. It came out when I was seven, but I saw it again recently and must admit it aged really well. A testament to the quality of story, acting, cinematography and oh my, the music!
The Witcher (2019)
Superb fantasy
Any score for this show below 7/10 is ill-will. I only rate a show as 10/10 when actively looking up when the next season will air. I never read any Witcher books and loved this show despite the mild intellectual challenge to put the many flash-back pieces together. The Witcher is a high quality production with believable acting, good cinematography and an immersive story. Base your opinion on a full season though. This show does not offer standalone episodes. It does deliver as a season.
