Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru (2016)
should be on netflix
After the trailer impressed quiet a number of people, I had an impression that this will be yet another movie which fools around with its trailer. Karthik Naren proved me wrong.
Never seen such a dark crime thriller in Thamizh Cinema. I must say, no one expected such a young lad to perform this much.
The cinematic dark tone, grippy BGM, Screenplay treatment, Almost perfect Casting, makes this a must watch movie.
Although this is not a perfect movie, having its own loopholes, it still stands out from the crowd.
Thamizh Cinema is indeed evolving.
Satya (1998)
brilliand!!
Ramgopal Varma's hard hitting film on the Bombay Underworld. This movie is a classic from scene one to the climax. When you see this movie you will see history in the making. A hard hitting story of a person from nowhere , Satya. How he joins the underworld gang led by bhiku mhatre. This movie gives one message hard "CRIME NEVER PAYS".The scene where chander(snehal dabi) tells a joke, the scene where bhiku mhatre satya vidya and pyaari go for a dinner, the scene where yedda scares the music director romu sagar, the theatre scene, the climax, all these scenes will go down in the history of indian cinema as classic scenes. Urmila Matondkar as Satya's Girlfriend and Shefali Chaaya as bhiku mhatre's wife are excellent. J.D.Chakravarthi is brilliant as Satya. Manoj Bajpai gives an excellent and award winning performance as bhiku mhatre. He has managed to make the character of bhiku mhatre an immortal one like late amjad khan did for gabbar singh. Govind Namdeo is brilliant as Bhau. Co-script writer saurabh shukla is superb as kallu mama.It is so nice to see that first time writers saurabh shukla & anurag kashyap wrote such a brilliant script. A special mention must be made of the best cameo since rajesh khanna's cameo in andaz, by paresh raawal as commissioner of police.Satya was supposed to be made as a songless film but co-producer Bharat Shah felt that no distributor will buy the film and it will be too tense. Music director Vishal Bharadwaj and lyricist Gulzar were roped in to provide the music for this film and they did a brilliant work. The song "Sapne Main milti hai" and "kallu mamma" are too good. This is one of the very few brilliant movies of the 90's.
Gol Maal (1979)
best Hrishikesh Mukherjee movie
This movie is one of the best movies that Hrishikesh Mukherjee gave. A must see for everybody. I don't have words to express how much I like this movie. And I am yet to meet a person who did not like it. Too good.
Ratsasan (2018)

This Movie is On Another Level. But South Director should Dub their movies in All Indian Languages especially Hindi. Many people even dont know about this Masterpiece. Because of this Bollywood Makes remake of this type of movies.
Pather Panchali (1955)
great experience
I don't know how even 6.4% of the female voters could have given this movie a 2!!!!! This was Ray's first movie, but his economy of dialog, his synchronization and sympathy with India's rural life is incredible. So little said, yet so much! Apu and Durga following the sweetmeat seller, the scene where they run through a "kash" field....superb, the work of a real artist, a master. The film develops its characters and the atmosphere slowly and resolutely. The narrative builds up to a powerful climax. Ray had an ancient camera while shooting this movie, did it matter? No. His expression and technique was more than sound, although this was a maiden venture.

The Escape (2016)
Not recommended
Apart from a clearly aged Clive Owen picking up his Driver character again, there are also the Oscar nominated Vera Farmiga in here as well as rising talent Dakota Fanning and Jon Bernthal. Let me start by saying that I liked some of the older BMW films, but I did not end up loving any of these and some I just found really bland and boring. Frequently, it was all about the action and the story was really so weak or almost non-existent that it was not good enough to justify a movie made about it. They obviously wanted to make sure it is all about the car and the action resulting from it. I do not approve of this approach though and this is why I do not think this is a quality sequel to the series. Thumbs-down from me. It felt like a very empty movie in terms of story and characters and they failed in making it relevant. .
