One of the best anime shows to date

I've been reading the manga since before season 1 dropped, and when it did I questioned how well the anime adaptation of one of my favorite mangas would hold up.

Well there's absolutely no question that it holds up leagues above any expectations I originally had. The animation team and the writers have poured their hearts into this beautiful work of art and it shows. The animation quality is second to none, the pace and timing of the story is exactly in line with the graphic novel, maybe even an improvement in some ways. The voice actors are phenomenal and do an amazing job driving home those emotional moments making you feel everything the characters feel. Japanese voice actors have always held a higher standard than Americans from my experience but here it really felt they went all out into their respective characters. This is a must watch for any fan of anime and one of my top recommended for anyone who asks me what to watch. Senkus journey to reclaim the lost world with science is going to captivate many people over the next few years, I'll make sure to keep singing it's praises and bringing more people to it.

Fun and lighthearted

I definitely enjoyed this anime. It's not really groundbreaking but it certainly kept me entertained throughout each episode and got some great laughs from me. It's lighthearted but injects some nicely needed emotional moments that don't overstay their welcome or weigh down the lighthearted nature of the show. The pacing is slow but helps with the world building and power structure mechanics so it's not really a negative to me, but compared to a lot of other shows that jam pack each episode with a lot of information while keeping the action high and fast I can see why a lot of people don't care for this slower pacing, they just aren't used to it. I'd be pretty disappointed to not see a season 2 so I'm giving this a bit higher of a rating than it truly deserves (more like 7/10, but I see a lot of potential for improvement especially since seeing the finale that dropped today) because I think a second season is where this show will have a chance to really shine, but by the sounds of it that chance might not happen without a push.
