The Cleansing Hour (2019)
Laughter and fear... what a perfect combo!
I love this movie. It's cheesy and silly and perfect. There are actual jump out of your seat moments, silly "gotchas", laugh out loud moments. The characters were cast very well and they all played their parts ro perfection.
The ending the only thing I would change. I just.. didn't like it. I thought it could have gone somewhere different, darker or lighter and been better than what we got. It did feel like it could have been set up for a sequel but I guess that's not happening.
All in all, I loved it. This was my second watch and I will watch it again. Now I just want to find another that's similar!
If you want something that's along the same vein, Deadstream or The Exorcists.
Prey for the Devil (2022)
A GREAT addition to the horror genre
I'm going to keep this short and sweet.. people complain about tropes and things looking the same, Yada Yada. Yet, those tropes have given us amazing movies. And this was one of them. The story was original and quite enjoyable, the scares were real, and I absolutely loved it. It might not be breaking new ground, but it's standing on solid ground in my opinion. The characters were very well fleshed out. The setting was beautiful and terrifying. The main characters desire to want to change things, and save lives is something i can get behind. And her acting was terrific. As far as scares go, which is what i want in a horror, it gave me scares, chills and tension. Give it a chance, you just might like it.
Grave Encounters (2011)
Nice!
This is a pretty darn good movie, y'all! I wasn't scared, but there were absolutely some great little jump scenes. The characters are pretty great at acting like regular Joe's, but when they start getting scared, the acting improves ten-fold. They seem incredibly, truthfully terrified. It isn't a happy ending kind of movie, so be warned happy end lovers. Still, a great found footage horror and I look forward to GE2.
House of Bones (2010)
Lordy Lordy, OH So Corny...
And not in a good way. It is so bad. So very bad. Charisma Carpenter is disappointing bc you expect more. The rest of the characters are trying, you can tell they really are, but they aren't working with something worthy. I made myself finish it, and it never gets any better. My advice? Run and don't look back. There are better Found Footage horrors out there. Try Grave Encounters.
