Smokin' Aces (2006)

Why did it suck?

This movie had such a great cast and I really wanted it to be good but it was just awful! Smokin' Aces? More like Smokin' Pole!

I Like Ben Affleck, I Like Jason Bateman, I Like Ray Liotta, I Like Jeremy Piven, I Like Ryan Reynolds, I Like Peter Berg... Hell I even Like Curtis Armstrong!

However I couldn't help but get more and more angry as this film went on at the bad editing, Pointless violence and pathetic attempts at clever twists!

I will always remember this as a movie that could have been good... but sucked and I will NEVER watch it again!

I Love this movie

I don't know what it is about this film but I just plain love it! It's so cheesy and so predictable but it's just impossible (or at least very difficult) to hate.

I first saw this movie 10 years ago when I was working as a clerk in a video store. I had a goal to watch every comedy video in the store (take advantage of that whole free rentals for staff policy) Most of the movies I watched were pretty average. Then I stumbled across this one. Had it not been for my lack of social life I may not have made it all the way to "M's" and stumbled across this gold but boy am I glad I did.

If you want a stupid laugh a beautiful girl (Traci Lind REOOOWRR) and the impeccable comic timing of Andrew Lowery this is the movie for you!

Jersey Girl (2004)

Forget the Critics... Make up your own mind.

This movie was never going to be a box office smash as soon as Ben and Jen's relationship (and break up) hype became bigger than this movie itself.

People started writing bad reviews in the line to buy tickets for the film.

The truth is though Jersey Girl is a spectacular movie. Now I am not saying this because I am a giant Kevin Smith fan and would watch the movie "Silent Bob takes a 3 hour dump" I am saying this because this movie is flat out as good as movies get.

Ben Affleck as always delivers a great performance. Newcomer Raquel Castro is such a great talent and to be honest played the role better than anyone else could have.

The best piece of casting in this film though was George Carlin who whilst best known for his comedic roles pulls out some amazing dramatic scenes with Affleck that has me in tears. (I defy anyone to watch the scene with Gertie and Ollie fighting and not be breath-taken) Plain and simple don't believe all the negative hype watch this movie with an open mind and enjoy it for the masterpiece that it is.

Clerks II (2006)

Clerks 2... Kevin Smith you have done it again... and again... and again!

Clerks 2 is simply put a fantastic movie.

Kevin Smith has a way of touching me in a way that very few other people in my life have (not counting that one teacher at catholic school). This movie has more laughs than I could count, perfect music to compliment the moving scenes, Romance and filthy dialogue to boot.

I saw first saw Clerks when I was 15 years old. Now as a 26 year old I watched Clerks 2 and identified with it in such a way that it left me just feeling great as I walked out of the cinema.

Kevin Smith I salute you for another amazing movie and can't wait for your next work.

The Ring (2002)

Just plain freaky

This is the scariest movie since The Blair Witch Project. Filled with simple but VERY effective images and visions that will leave you feeling a little uneasy. Worth checking out if you're a fan of the horror genre... if you scare easily this REALLY isn't the film for you. Remember before you die... you see the ring.

Bar-B-Q (2000 Video)

Possibly the worst movie EVER!!!

First of all I would like to say this film doesn't even deserve 1 star, but I had no choice but to give it one. On the DVD cover that was on it in my local video store it read "No.1 US Box Office Smash Hit!" thats funny because the movie was a straight to video deal! The only thing this dvd is good for is a) Use as a coaster. b) For the guys at Mystery Science Theater to destroy. The acting is AWFUL, The script is bad and the camera work is so shoddy it was like it was being filmed on a trampoline while barry white was jumping all around the camera man... lets face it IT'S REALLY BAD!!!!! avoid it!

The Nugget (2002)

Looks like working dog, sounds like working dog... but it aint working dog.

A very enjoyable tale of 3 real Aussie mates and a very unusual circumstance. It's good to see realistic aussie characters for a change as usually we get portrayed as red necks. Anyway the only bad thing about this movie is the length, it went on just a little too long... on the positive side though it had some laugh out loud moments and very impressive performances from the lead actors! Well worth checking out especially for the Aussie audience.

Undergrads (2001)

Funniest and Best animated series in years

This show is smart, fun and hilarious. I for one hope they release it on DVD sometime in the very near future! The show has very likable characters great animation, wonderful dialogue and great storylines. I can't praise it enough and like I said... I HOPE THEY RELEASE IT ON DVD!!!
