Pushpa: The Rise - Part 1 (2021)
Pushpa: The Rise - Part 1- Check out lighthearted review.
The South Indian movie...wait, the PAN Indian movie seems to be creating a storm in the box office with no immediate end. I can't argue with that, the movie is really good. Notice the word 'Really', because I just want to put it out there that this movie can be viewed by Non-Allu Arjun fans too.
Unlike the quintessential Telugu movie which involves a superstar, namesake heroine, gruesome villain, weird love story, groovy music, smooth dance moves, slow-motion action sequence, corruption....well, this movie has a better version which is bearable to the human brain with slight neglection of physics and few cringe-worthy movements here and there.
Set in the backdrop of the Redwood sandalwood mafia, which is the epidemic in South India, the movie is released during the time when there is a pandemic in the world, "Oh, the Irony" I sighed. Without revealing much about the movie plot, watching the trailer is sufficient to accentuate the story plot: Rise of the hero from a Kooli to Kingpin. The mannerism of the lead role is exceptionally portrayed by Allu Arjun with great consistency like Virat Kohli stats, hmmm, at least his glorious past. When the western media syndicate has John wick, a gun expert, we have an arrogant village boy with daddy issue fighting against influential red sandalwood syndicate while also carrying out his eccentric love story with his loyal friend and a broken axe. What is protecting him? His mother's love or his GF's sexual appeal? His loyalty to his business partner? His sense of pride? I would say it's just the plot armor and come on, it's THE Allu Arjun.
The dance and music take the movie to an entirely new level like Samantha did with her sexy dancing. After watching her dance, the only person disappointed will be Naga Chaitanya. Nevertheless, the complete limelight of the movie is stolen by Fahad with his appearance in the end. The eccentric character is warranted because who else can defeat the Pushpa? With every curveball thrown at him, every predicament he is stuck in, he seems to come out triumphant with his cunning intelligence and plot armor.
In conclusion, the movie is worth wait if you enjoy mass movies. Also, if you are wondering why the name Pushpa, a flower? According to the hero, it means fire, I just thought of my neighbor aunty with the namesake. Is it just me? Don't lie, you filthy bugger.
PS- Never ask Pushpa his surname, he creates a nuisance every time freaking time filling a personal form.
