Fight Club (1999)
Dark, weird and sometimes fun
The premise is down right ridiculous but the movie is entertaining. Take a few punches, feel pain and you shall be enlightend.
Both Norton and Pitt are excellent. Norton the stiff Office rat and Pitt the crazy conspiracy theorist that is expert in making soap.
The movie is extremley overrated but it is entertaining.
Kastanjemanden (2021)
Snoozefestmannen
I like danish movies and series but this One was slow and uninteresting. The male Cop was alraight but the Female was just sour and boring. None of them Were particularly charismatic. Neither the story or the characters made me Want to follow through.
The Guilty (2021)
Jake Gyllenhaal excels again
The plot or simply the movie as a whole isnt that special. At all. But Gyllenhaal is brilliant as usual and carries the movie on his own. That man can make a Church meeting exciting.
Midnight Mass (2021)
Go to church every day - its fantastic
15 people on an island is going to Church every damn day. Like children on a theme park - except they are adults. Its pecuilar because the meetings listening to the incredible bad acting priest is totala unintresting for both the viewers and the ppl in the show. Every day same thing for 7 episodes. And the story - give me a brake. There is none actually. The ratings are extremley overrated.
The Lighthouse (2019)
Tragic farce not horror.
I havn´t laughed this mutch in awhile. As a horror movie i give it 1/10, but as a farce, which i saw this movie as - a 5/10.
In no way did the characters act credible as lighthouse keepers from the 1890s. Or cimply as people - with or without all the madness. But don´t get me wrong - both Dafoe and Pattinson are excellent as lunatics. After 15 minutes i couldn´t stop laughing when Dafoes sour old fart of a character showed up on the screen.
Neither of the two (Dafoe and Pattinson) were the least bit scary just unduly crazy, in sometimes, tragic-comical Ways. So as a horror or mystery movie this film is a joke but due to the actors ability to express madness and the creators over the top weird scenes - it often became laughable instead (even though it probably wasnt ment to be). Reviewers interprets a lot of different "truth" in all the fog and crazieness - but to me the result was just a splash of rubbish.
In the end, its not a particularly good movie in any way, so a 5/10 for the performances by the two.
Infinite (2021)
Infinite visual effects - zero story
What is it with todays movies? The first Two minutes sets the tone. No explanations for anything - just cars flying through the air and stuff blows up. After that i regreted that i rented the piece of s**t. But i managed to follow through. No story and boring action with absolutley No regard to the characters. I like Wahlberg but this One he doesnt manage to bring up to the surface.
Clickbait (2021)
Quite entertaining but not credible
The show is interesting enough to follow through. The plot is ok. But the characters aren't especially likeable (the neurotic sister is the Worst) and they aren't credible. Both reactions and responses are often weird - like the writers have poor social skills and lack of feeling for the real world. The Cop for example is behaving like a social worker. And others are like "why are you running away? Because i Wanted to talk. Do'h! People are often behaveing like they are from Mars. Its watchable - No less No more.
The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf (2021)
Castlevania spin-off named Witcher
There is nothing witcher about this. Castlevania on the other hand - absolutely!
Not the music, monsters or story. And Vesimir - please! Have the creators even seen the real character? Im guessing No. Go water your plants or throw out your garbage or something other boring thing iinstead of this- probably more entertaining!
Gladiator (2000)
Great historical - ish action movie
"My name is Gladiator" (with Australian accent) - just as i imagined it 180 a.d. In Rome.
Jokes aside, the movie is great! Swords, armor, blood splashing, chopping heads and beatuful women. Phoenix and Crow are both excellent. What more do you need a saturday night?
Zombieland: Double Tap (2019)
Harrelson saves it
Zombies, shoguns, bad jokes and Woody Harrelson - what's left to know? The movie is sometimes bad, sometimes really funny.
Its worth a look for a few laugh.
Aftermath (2021)
Good enough by todays standard
A decent scary movie. The acting is bad by almost every actor BUT the house, sounds and atmosphere are good and chilling. They are the real main characters in this movie, Making it watchable if you want a decent scary movie for a night.
The Last Boy Scout (1991)
Head or gut?
Bruce Willis legendary private detective Joe "i don't give a ****" Hallenbeck.
Snappy oneliners, sheap jokes and lots of action.
Bruce looks like someone who has been partying for a week, not shaved, showered, combed his hair or changed clothes. Why? Because he doesn't give a ****. And he is perfekt for the part. Hilarious.
Brian Banks (2018)
Beat the system!
A strong movie about a Young african american - Brian - who is wrongfully accused of a horribel crime.
The story claims to be true and the movie is relevant today, especially in this postmodern era where responsibility is something you throw away if you even bather to recognize it, behind all bureaucracy and BS.
Brian who lost his promising future, has to fight for his freedom even after his release. The movie Ask questions such "what is the system?" and "what is real value in life?". Heavy, i know, but it plays out well.
New Amsterdam (2018)
Easy and enjoyable
A feelgood series - perfect ending after a days work in the middle of the week.
Sure its not how things work in real health care - but everything doesnt have to be as gloomy and gray as reality.
Jaws (1975)
One of the best movies ever made
Spielbergs masterpiece still stands today.
The only bad thing about it - is, that its a crappy movie to watch when summer is approaching.
City of Lies (2018)
Take a break from Netflix productions
The investigation of the murder of Tupac and Biggi displayed through a reporter (Forrest W) and a retiered cop (Johnny Depp). The acting is good and the writing and directing is also good.
This is no Netflix production and it becomes obvious after ten minuters. To be a relatively new movie - this one is pretty good. At least these creators know how to create a story compared to most Netflix productions. In that sence - this is a safe choice.
Army of the Dead (2021)
Big muscles, loads of weapons and hordes of zombies but no bite
Zack Snyders movie had a lot of potential. Cool environments, a good premise and a vegas left in ruins for the zombies to thrive in. The place where our heros are to rob a vault under the noses of million zombies.
Too bad there never becomes anything of it. The story is garbage and the dialouge is worse. The movie never becomes interesting or thrilling. It had a couple of funny moments but that was it. I never cared for any of the characters. They were completely shallow - all of them. And Dave Bautista - the leading character. Was he in the movie? I think he was in the movie. At least i have some blurry pictures of him from the movie. Thats the kind of impression he made.
The zombies arn´t that interesting either. The tribal leader is somewhat of a crossing beteween a neanterthal and a zombie that sometimes moved like an ape.
The movie had nothing new to bring to the table and it just feels like a total waste of opportunity. Zack Snyder had a shot but he blew it!
Just another Netflix fail - sorry to say.
Midsommar (2019)
I´m worried for the creator
Mushroom soup, white robes and people running around like weird psychos on green hills - is apperently the way swedish pepople celebrate midsummer according to the creator.
This movie is obviously inspired by The Wickerman. But it doesn´t work. It´s like someone who was high on LSD at a midsummerparty - and had nightmares - retold their experience to others. The movie is incomprehensible.
And i´t not scary at all - just weird in a bad way.
