Top Coat Cash (2017)
Absolute worst film I've tried to watch
This is an amateur production, at best, with no imagination in the story line nor cinematography. The acting is non existent, most stand there and simply say their lines like a junior school play. Unwatchable, and that's being kind. No spoilers needed as the fact this film will spoil any time you waste watching it. I usually cross reference movies on IMDb, particularly 'arthouse' films and was pleased to find this movie was over 8 - the fact only about 20 people reviewed it should have been a warning - they are quite obviously the cast, crew and friends (which would probably make up about 20). My partner and I simply could not sit through the entire length as it was so bad. If you don't believe this review I challenge you to watch it and comment on this post.....
Equilibrium (2002)
What was Christian Bale thinking??
I should have turned it off after 5 minutes. Trying to ride on the Matrix coat tails and mimic classics THX-1138, Farenheit 451 and Logan's Run. It hides a simply unbelievable plot and story line behind even more unbelievable action. No spoiler needed, the movie will spoil your mood. I can't believe this movie was even made let alone Christian Bale being involved. May appeal to 10 year old boys.
What intrigues me more is how this bomb managed to get 7.5 on IMDb? I have religiously used IMDb for years as a cross reference for some unknown films - and usually anything over a 7 is reasonably good - especially if you throw in someone like Christian Bale. Some great films rank lower, as maybe they're a little out on the proverbial left field, but this should not clear 4. And that's being generous. Check out the Machinist if you like Christian Bale (or ex Machina for great future sci-fi thriller) but give this film a very wide birth. I'm sure Mr Bale would thank you!!!
Nick of Time (1995)
A movie Christopher Walken & Johnny Depp would want to forget
Nick of Time is less than a typical run-of-the mill Hollywood movie with an idiotic plot. The basic idea has been done many times before (better and more believably) and Christopher Walken did not present his character as well as he has in most other movies (he did have little to work with) and the whole, if you are a fan of either Johnny Depp or Christopher Walken (or in my case both) this movie is best avoided. Better to leave them in the high esteem they both deserve... To add fuel to an already dismal fire, the supporting actors were poor at best (particularly Roma Maffia). The 'hook' is that the movie is filmed in 'real' time and it quickly becomes obvious this could have (and should have) been a 10 minute film. Throw in the convenient 'how did he get from there to there' suddenly scenes the entire movie is quite simply a shocker.
