Not Really a Comedy/Romance
11 July 2010
Warning: Spoilers
I don't usually write reviews unless something is bad enough to merit it. This movie did.

For one, the dialogue was at times unintelligible. The characters for me seem... undeveloped. And don't even get me started on the romance itself.

So there's this guy who's engaged to this girl. Said girl loves a radio show hosted by a woman who's pretty disdainful towards the idea of romantic sweep-you-off-your-feet-fairy-tale love. Even as a little girl she couldn't believe the happy ending. She even thought the lady and tramp were doomed to fail as a couple. So the fiancée calls into the radio show and for some reason overtly pragmatic Dr. Emma tells her to call the wedding off. Of course, this we don't actually realize until like minutes before the credits roll. Then fiancé Patrick is all riled up and swears his revenge on Dr. Emma. Yet he's actually pretty passive about it... until a hacker friend decides to marry Patrick and Emma. This is an issue for Emma because she's about to marry her publisher, Richard (Colin Firth, pretty much the only likable character in the film). He's madly in love with her. She's just settling for the secure yet not-the-man-of-my-dreams-but-of-my-reality.

You can guess where it goes from there.

They forcibly meet about two times and he's suddenly ready to confess to his friend that he's "falling for her". For whatever reason she thinks she's in love with him, too, and even calls off her wedding until she realizes what he did. She goes back to her old fiancé and he welcomes her with open arms. They're both happy until Patrick calls Emma's radio show and says he's in love with her on the day prior to her wedding. So the next day it turns out Richard didn't file the annulment papers and they're not getting married.

And that is the amount of depth with which the story is told. I was honestly hoping for Emma to marry Richard and send immature, idiotic Patrick to the curb. He was just not a likable character. But, then again, neither was she. So maybe it was a good pairing after all.

But not a good movie.

Not a comedy, as I didn't laugh once. And certainly not a romance. Not by a long shot.

Smallville (2001–2017)
9/10
Awesome series!
26 October 2007
Warning: Spoilers
I'm going to begin by saying that I absolutely love Smallville; but there are some things that make my rating go down to 9 instead of 10.

For one, I think they have inserted some things that weren't really at all necessary to the storyline... like the whole deal with Lana's ancestor (I can't even remember her name now) in season 4... Or some of the scenes that show the characters nearly naked, Think of me as a weirdo, but I don't like that type of dirty scenes...

I love the casting of this show... for the most part anyway... I'm not a very big fan of Erica Durance, especially cus not only as a character in Smallville, but as an actress doesn't seem to have a lot of moral or ethics... I honestly lose all appreciation of an actor/actress after they do a nude scene, and she doesn't here, but I'm pretty sure she did in "The Butterfly Effect 2". Also, I don't find chemistry between Tom Welling and Erica Durance, and consequently between Clark and Lois... She seems to fit much better with Ollie. On the other hand, the chemistry between Tom Welling and Kirsten Kreuk is amazing... I've been a pro Clar and Lana from the very beginning, and I suppose that little part inside of me still hopes that the makers of this series will change their mind and make Clark and out with Lana in the end... They've changed so much in the storyline already, why not that? hehe

I used to follow the series on the WB here in Mexico... but they had way to many commercials and it was a really big torture to only be able to watch this once a week... not to mention we were a couple of months behind the US anyway... and to top it all off, when they originally aired the 5th season they omitted the first episode >.> ...I have no idea why... So, ever since the 5th season we've been renting this series and finish a year's worth in about a week... And that's honestly an awesome way to watch this series... hehe

Anyway, overall I think this series is awesome... every episode hooks you up from the very beginning, I love the music on the show (especially the use of songs such as "Everything" by Lifehouse or "I Dare You to Move" by Switchfoot), the actors really know what they're doing, and overall the storyline is also very cool... So, 9 out of 10 for this awesome Superman Series!

The Invisible (2007)
10/10
Definitely worth it
14 May 2007
Warning: Spoilers
OK so yes, I'm a 13-year-old (though I turn 14 in June) girl who loved this movie... what, are you gonna kill me for it? The truth is I watched it by pure accident, I hadn't heard anything of it till we randomly decided to go to the theaters Saturday... OK, so not so randomly. The previous week we watched Spider-Man 3 but my dad had some work so he couldn't get to it. My brother's now 17-year-old friend, who is also my dad's disciple, had his b-day May 10th (quite funny considering that's Mother's Day here in Mexico) and so he wanted to see Spider-Man 3... then it was agreed, they would watch it May 12th...

But, I had watched it the previous week and I don't get along too well with my dad's 17-year-old friend, so I finally opted to go, but watch another movie.

That's how I came about "The Invisible", it was the only 'B' movie (PG-13) in the theater (all others were basically R, the only other 'B' was Spider-Man 3... oh the irony) and once I read the synopsis I became excited to see it.

When it started I was kind of worried it would be a horror story, knowing my mom would *probably* (ok, definitely) get freaked, and I was pleasantly surprised to know it *wasn't*.

I never watched the trailer before seeing it so I wasn't sure what to expect from the movie, to me it stuck to what the synopsis said. Then I can to IMDb to rate and found it quite underrated, a lot of people mentioning the trailer and the old man and how it was totally different and bla bla bla...

...So I went and searched for the trailer online, watched it, and smirked. Yes, the old man was not in the movie... But if you've watched it you can hopefully reason with me, if not go watch it and then think about this. Nick Powell supposedly is beat to death, but really he just entered a coma and is sort of stuck between life and death. So according to the trailer he had to 'solve the mystery of his death' but he knew all along who 'killed' him. In the trailer the old man tells him that, and that's how we know he's invisible, it's basically a quick explanation for what we figure out by watching the movie anyway. Or what, you didn't realize that he wasn't heard or seen by the people around him and couldn't interact with anything by watching the movie? I think the pacing was great... contrary to popular comments I ended out loving Annie... and not only because my name is also Annie...

Yes she was bad, but I understood her I guess.

The ending *sigh*; I admit it could've been better. The scene with the plane did seem out of place, and I admit I *really* wish Annie would've survived and see where it goes from there... So I suppose that was a bit disappointing, but I still love the movie. Annie did her one good deed then reaped for all the bad she did. (...I feel kinda weird writing about 'Annie' it being my name O.o...) So, conclusion... I loved this movie, go ahead put me in the with the group of teenagers who for some "strange" reason loved the movie... heh, but I still loved it.

Pretty Pointless
14 May 2007
Warning: Spoilers
In my opinion, this movie is pretty vague. I know it's historical and all, but I mean I wasn't touched by it in any way. I find the nudity and sexual scenes completely unnecessary, and they make an already boring film incredibly stupid.

In all truth, I was quite disappointed to find Kirsten Dunst naked on this movie, I used to actually admire her. Note: Used to.

I watched this with my best friend, and we were hysterical at parts... not because the movie actually has any comedy, but because of the stupid things that happened. Like when, I think the second night they're in bed, and she starts hugging Louis and he just pats her hand... we couldn't get over that.

It also seems historically lacking... I mean they didn't show anything about how Marie-Antoinette and Louis XIV did the decapitation and stuff, and that's supposedly what they're famous for.

Also... I had a hard time believing 24-year-old Kirsten Dunst was a 14-year-old...

And the scene when she supposedly breaks down... we wear hysterical from the falseness of it...

So yeah, I didn't really like this movie... I find it pretty pointless... truth is I don't like movies by this director, "Lost In Translation" was also a really bad movie...

Immediately one of my favorite movies!
23 April 2007
Warning: Spoilers
"Little Secrets" tells the story of a 14 year old aspiring violinist... She's also the neighborhood 'secret keeper', and children from around the neighborhood come and pay 50cents to tell her their secrets. She'll even put away any broken stuff they've got. Eventually the secrets she knows begin to be too much for her, and things start to get out of hand.

A lot of people have criticized the fact that in the end she goes with David, but honestly, I would've too. Yep, I'm sooo not for a girl going with a younger guy *especially* when she's 14 and he's 12... and when he's shorter, how do you work kissing out that way? Haha... So I Like the fact she ended out with David, it adds that small spark of romance that helps make it a favorite of mine. True, I feel sorry for Fill-it-Up, but in her position I would've made the same decision... heh So yes, a really good movie that I truly recommend...

Chiquititas sin fin (2006– )
10/10
One of my favorite shows
21 March 2007
"Chiquititas" is a show centered around a small house of orphans, each with their own background and story. Magali is a business woman whose child was taken away by her father after its birth. She was told that it was dead; but after finding out the truth, she's been on the search to find that little baby, thus disguising herself as Lili: a playful and quirky character with a crazy personality... quite on the contrary to Magali, who is serious, and, as said once in the show, 'cold.' As Lili she works in the house and gets to know all the little kids, trying to find that little kid. Chiquititas has a little for everybody. It's got the jokes and playfulness but it's also got that romantic spark. Basically everybody in the little house of orphans finds themselves liking somebody, and everybody's got their own romantic problems. Each character has their own background and story separately, but they merge together in the show. I love this series, most of the the songs are catchy and the storyline always keeps you hooked... I definitely recommend it.

Boring... Looses everything that I liked about these movies!
26 January 2007
When I was younger I loved the first ones. We watched them over and over again, laughed at them... you know, it was an enjoyable kinda thing. But wow, I never thought they could get this bad! Rocky, 15 huh? The guy looked about 11! Colt's hairstyle was atrocious, and I swear I remembered Tum-Tum's character to be older >_<.

The plot-line is completely unbelievable. It doesn't seem to really have any purpose in it.

The acting is stupid... I mean, I might as well go and watch a school play and get better acting than I did here.

So, overall, if you want to watch a movie from these series, let this be your last choice...

The Sims 2 (2004 Video Game)
10/10
Possibly the best game ever made
15 December 2006
Truly, the Sims 2 is probably the best game to have ever been made. The possibilities for game play are infinite, and it never ends. It's not like the usual VG where once you complete all the levels, you're done, that's where the story ends, and there's no more to say...Here, every family has its own story, which you create. (Although the maxis made families have their own background...but you decide where to head.) Truth be told, it's got its nice share of glitches, which can get extremely annoying...but with patience and intelligence you can learn to work your way around it till the maxis people come out with a patch.

The graphics are incredible...some talented sim makers can make sims look so much like their real-life counterpart, you'd think it was an actual picture of them.

Downloading...that definitely adds a lot, for although the maxis people have worked their hardest to make the game play grand and enjoyable, they certainly lack it in the creativity department as far as fashion and personal appearance goes...so it's a good thing we have the option to download things...and believe me, I don't stop...hehe The expansion packs certainly add to it, and Maxis has a way of making each one a vital necessity (although I've never heard of a non-vital necessity...xD) Overall, I think this game is definitely worth your money :) ~Ange Doré~

Possibly the worse movie I have ever seen
15 December 2006
I'm not one to criticize movies much...I like to give all movies a chance and like to look for the good in all of them, but really...this has got to be the worse movie I've EVER seen...honestly...The title basically says it all. My father bought this movie because of the actors in it, who were supposed great comedians, and because it was cheap. 1 word: disappointing...I have never watched such a lame, grotesque, pointless, boring movie...list goes on. Don't waste your time watching this, we didn't even finish it 'cus it was so horrible, and I think we ended out throwing the DVD away.

My rating, 0 of 10...if that's even possible...

An incredibly well portrayed romance and story
4 December 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I wanted to watch this movie because I'm a big fan of Switchfoot and my friend and I heard that Jon Foreman had recorded a song for it; and when I heard about the plot line, it being a romance, I knew I needed to watch it.

So, we rented it a few days ago, and lemme say...wow...I just loved it to bits and pieces. I loved the fact that the main soundtrack was Switchfoot songs, and that he loved her so much he was willing to marry her even if he knew that she was going to die...which in the end she does.

I cried during this movie, and so did my friend...we kinda wished it had a happier ending, but I guess you could say the ending is happy in it's own way.

Don't look for plot holes, or things that seem illogical...just enjoy the movie, cus it's really one of the best movies I've seen...it's got no sexual things...a few kisses here and there maybe...but it really shows how much he loved her, and it was because of who she was...not because of the way she dressed or looked, which is just so sweet.
