One Piece: Wan pîsu (1999)
Instant cure for sadness
I put this one off for years because of the number of episodes, but I'm so glad I finally risked it for the biscuit. It's just such a happy and feel good show, plus it's the only anime that actually makes me laugh. It reminds me of a slightly more mature Magic Treehouse series lol. You just root for all of the main characters and want them to succeed every time. Luffy is basically a dumber and goofier Naruto, but in the best ways. I also adore Chopper because he's extremely adorable and his backstory broke my heart. The show teaches you to accept everyone no matter how different they look and the importance of loyalty. It language doesn't bother you as a parent, then kids can morally learn a lot from this one.
Junji Ito Maniac: Japanese Tales of the Macabre (2023)
1 star or not, the opening is an absolute banger
Maybe I don't understand the 1 star reviews because I'm fairly new to anime, but I quite enjoy the weirdness of this one. Some stories are definitely better than others, but the good thing about an anthology is you can skip the duller ones if you want. In my opinion, the standouts so far are "Hanging Balloon" and "Long Hair in the Attic," but I still have 4 episodes left. I do feel like the majority of them end way too abruptly and it could've been a lot better stylistically speaking, but it still held my attention when other anime's haven't. It's obviously no aot or death note, but it's still entertaining and a decent show.
