A bit of a disappointment
24 January 2021
This is a movie could have been good. The story is interesting and the performance from many of the actors is good especially from Dennis Quaid.

Unfortunately in the end of the movie the focus on god and Christianity starts to become to big. I could have forgiven that part of the movie but what destroyed the movie for me and my girlfriend was the song.

The movie builds up to the reveal of the song from the first minute and it does it in a good way but when the it actually starts playing all hope and happiness disappears. It's such a boring song that it's almost funny that you've watched an entire movie just to hear it.

I should maybe have known what the movie had in store for us but I never heard the song before and I didn't want to know to much about the movie beforehand so I didn't read the synopsis.

Elfen Lied (2004)
10/10
Best Anime Ever
5 January 2007
I started watching anime for real about 2 or 3 years ago and during this time I've managed to see around 10 different anime and at least 500 episodes. And I can defiantly say that this 13 episodes short anime is by far the best anime ever made.

The only ones that come even a bit close to Elfen Lied are Death Note and Trinity Blood and those are almost even half as good. If it was possible I would probably give Elfen lied 15 out of 10 possible points.

The only bad and sad thing about it is that it's, like I said before, only 13 episodes. I wish they would make more but I guess it would by now only ruin it.

PLOT Eleven year old Johannes is found dead in a crevice. The postmortem shows that the boy has been sexually abused and beaten to death. Detectiv Stefan Lindman is a member of the same shooting club as the victims father and they are also friends. Therefore he becomes the one that has to tell the father what has happened to his son (Johannes). When the father finally understands what has happened he demands that Stefan personally gets the one responsible. Stefan is since a previous case being accused for abuse, because the internal investigation Stefan has to go on paid vacation, and he is not allowed to continue his investigation. But because of personal issues he continues the investigation anyway. He has a dark secret, a secret that has the answer to why he came to Ysta in the first place.

Personal thoughts This is by far the best Wallander-movie so far. It's probably the best Swedish movie I've ever seen.
