The Conspiracy (2012)
Much better than I thought it would be.
I just recently started looking into conspiracy theories. Most I don't believe in and still I'm kind of starting to agree with that saying "Alex was right" even thou I cant stand the guy. So I went into watching this with an open mind and happy with what I saw. I find it lame that movies usually show these types of people as papers every where, crazy and filthy looking. I met a few conspiracy theorist and they where happy, middle class family men who just know a lot of stuff.
Kingsman: The Secret Service (2014)
Eggsy
When some strange things happen within the first few minutes of the film and someone gets killed in a very unusual way, don't want to spoil that as it was a very weird start to the film, but it certainly set the tone. It is going to be off the wall at times, it is going to be different, it is also going to be funny. It is all of those things.
When you mix up posh guys in posh suits with a young man who is rough round the edges, ok rough all together. It was always going to make for a very amusing ride. We follow Eggsy's story as we see his home life with his mother and her abusive new husband. The link with Harry is because Eggsy's father died saving a few lives, so theres a little bit of history involved with it as well.
It moves at a very good pace and the tests to become a Kingsman agent are very impressive and I thought it was a very interesting way to do it all. Which was obviously going to see Eggsy being tested more than any of the other candidates as he felt he needed to prove himself even more.
It has violence in a funny way which is so over the top that it works to not be taken too seriously at all. Samuel L. Jackson is the bad guy and is brilliant with his lisp. I know that sounds a very strange thing to mention but because you know that is not how he normally speaks I found it funny every time he opened his mouth. For such a big villain he was a big wimp when it came to blood as well, which made it even better.
Sonnim (2015)
read the viewer reviews- they are right
"A Korean Willard" is the best review. The Piper is the perfect date night movie, slow enough to give you time for personal activities and scarey enough to have her cling close. Watch this one.
Day of the Woman (1978)
I know its the original but I prefere the remake
As much as I appreciate the this classic girl gets revenge movie, it really is low budget in every sense of the term. Great story.
I Spit on Your Grave (2010)
"GIRL NEXT" is a more intense version of this story
This 2010 remake added a layer of newness to the story, the original 1978 movie still stands out as one of the most shocking and upsetting films of all time. The rape sequence, which makes up a large portion of the first half, is still hard to watch. The film follows Jennifer, a writer who is working on a new novel, rents a cabin to work on her novel. The locals notice and rape her. Jennifer is later attacked and raped a further two times by the four degenerates. But Jennifer recovers, and in her now-twisted, psychotic state, she begins to seek revenge on the men.
There is a new movie out called Girl Next and its on the same theme but way freakier.
Girl Next (2021)
I Spit On Your Grave 2.0
This is like a modern better version of I Spit On Your Grave, But instead of using old techniques of torture ,this movie, Girl Next uses government drugs and Darpa like mind control to achieve the same effect. Like, I Spit On Your Grave, Girl Next has the victim seek the ultimate revenge which is so satisfying to watch. Seeing this actress Lacey Cofran turn from a bland character into a dangerous lioness was talented acting, direction and writing all come together. I did have a problem with the fact that there was too much obvious make-up on a woman who is in the middle of rolling in the dirt and kicking ass, its not a time for a character to look pretty.
Unlike I Spit On Your Grave, Girl Next was well made and more professional looking and sounding. If there where still Drive-ins I would watch this again at a Drive in.
The Equalizer (2014)
Kind hearted killer
Denzel Washington plays an ordinary citizen who lives alone and works at a Home Depot. He likes to help people and spends every night reading at a local cafe. He becomes friends with a teenage prostitute who goes to the same cafe. One day, he discovers Teri is brutally beaten by her Russian pimp, and decides to avenge her. After single-handedly killing the pimp and the rest of his men. Denzel quickly becomes the target of the Russian mob.
Denzel Washington plays a coolly charismatic, kind-hearted person who likes to help people and a violent individual who doesn't bat an eye when he needs to hurt or kill someone.
Black Widow (2021)
Jump out of your seat action
Ya, I jumped out of my seat about three times.
The family drama was a bit over used as the glue that held the movie together, that aside the action was inspiring. Im going to need to see this movie in slow motion to analyze the scenes. I give it a ten for all the explosions and jump scenes.
