I Think We're Alone Now (2018)
Started great, but the end ruined it!
Oh boy, what a missed opportunity. This movie had lots of potential, but somehow the writers and director managed to turn a very solid and intriguing idea for the worst. What a shame, I was really enjoying the film until it had an idiotic plot twist which ultimately ruined he whole thing.
The 5th Wave (2016)
Boring, bad acting and full of plot holes
Don't waist your precious time watching this garbage. The end is horrible without any good conclusion, full of unanswered questions and idiotic plot holes. You have been warned!
The Haunting of Bly Manor (2020)
NOT perfectly splendid! A total disappointment
I'm really worry about the recent quality of Netflix shows. If they continue with this way, I guarantee they will loose market share. I waited two years after the PERFECT Haunting of Hill House to see this different anthology story. I was more than disappointed. It's a "horror" story with no horror at all, a ghost story not scary at all. It's is instead awfully boring, The first two episodes were ok, but after the third it got very scareless and repetitive. The last four episodes I watched them just out of curiosity of knowing how this train wreck would end. Patience didn't pay at all. I was expecting much, much more from Mike Flanagan after the incredible and scary Hill House and the underrated and amazing Dr. Sleep. If he is going to deliver another turkey like this, I really hope Netflix doesn't order a third season. Yes. It's is that bad.
Ratched (2020)
Not a prequel to Cuckoo's Nest
The only thing they have in common nurse Ratched from the classic 1975 movie and this series is the name. The character of this new version is loosely based on the original one. I was very disappointed because I'm a fan of the film which is supposed to be based on. Oh, and by the way, the mental hospital certainly doesn't look like a 1940's institution, it is more like a super luxury five star resort and spa. Sorry Netflix but you dropped the ball big time with this one.
The Devil All the Time (2020)
Great film with an all star cast
I was hooked from beginning to end with the story, and the acting. Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, Bill Skarsgård, Sebastian Stan and Harry Melling were great. This is in my opinion one of Netflix finest original films. Yes, it is that good.
Challenger: The Final Flight (2020)
Superb and well researched documentary
This documentary is great. While I was watchingIt I couldn't help but think that somebody oughta do a Chernobyl like TV series with the Challenger story. Trust me, it would a smashing hit.
Ghost Stories (2020)
Avoid it at all costs.
The only thing that I liked very much was the animation and story of the initial credits. And that's about the only thing we'll done in the movie. I really thought that it was describing the plot, but it didn't. The plot of the four stories are absurd with no logic at all. A film student can do a much better job. Netflix should take care to which films attach its name, because this one is garbage.
Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
A total disappointment
I'm a big Star Wars fan, The Force Awakens was OK, Last Jedi, not so good, but Rise of Skywalker is just bad story, bad directing and bad everything. After Solo which by the way was another atrocity and this last installment led carelessly by JJ Abrams, Disney should rethink if Kathleen Kennedy should remain at the helm of Lucasfilm. The Star Wars franchise deserves somebody at the same level of Kevin Fiege who is leading Marvel superbly. The only movie from the new era of Star Wars that was perfect is Rogue One, that is classic and authentic SW.
Fractured (2019)
Great thriller, horrible and frustrating ending
SPOLERS AHEAD (well, sort of). I enjoyed the movie very much until the frustrating ending. I perfectly get the point of the director, but honestly as a viewer my reward ending after all the pain Ray endured through the movie was completely ruined. This is why I gave it 6 stars instead of 10.
X-Men: Dark Phoenix (2019)
Worst than X-Men: The Last Stand!
Bad and moronic story, wooden acting, mediocre special effects, horrible and forgettable score and very poor on action scenes. Once again the Dark Phoenix saga was drained down the toilet. Is a relief that Disney is finally taking over and killing the Fox X-Men franchise for good. I want to see them being incorporated into the MCU in the future.
Chernobyl (2019)
Almost an historic documentary
This series surpassed my expectations. Everything is perfect. The reason why I gave it a 9 instead of a 10 is because, hearing Russian people speaking in English instead of their native language is unreal.
Halloween (2018)
So many inconsistencies and plot holes, but somewhat enjoyable
I'm going to focus on the things that I liked and didn't like. THE POSITIVE:
- John Carpenter's score.
- The opening credits.
- The nods to the original.
- Seeing Michael and Laurie Strode back in action after 40 years.
THE NEGATIVE:
- Let's show to Michael Myers the original mask from 40 years ago. Anybody can ask for the mask if you happen to be a reporter, specially if you are British. Extra points of you tell to Michael at the mental hospital.
- Hey, let's transfere Michael Myers to another hospital at night with minimal security by and unescorted bus exactly 40 years after he escaped from the same hospital and a night before Halloween.
- How did Michael escaped?
- How did Michael found the two Brithish reporters?
- Michael Myers escaped last night. Let's cancel Halloween. Hey, I'm just kidding.
- The babysitting kid just vanished (I know, he escaped).
- The new Dr Loomis was crazier than Michael!
- How did Michael found Laurie' house? What about her reinforced electric fence and cameras that we saw at the beginning of the movie?
- Why burn to death Michael? Why not shoot him in the face and kill it more effectively?
And the biggest question of all, HOW MICHAEL SURVIVED the original movie and how he was captured?
I honestly wonder how the filmmakers allowed these horrible flaws in the film? Why is so difficult to have an intelligent movie nowadays?
